[Eaglepaw] ["Don't quack like a duck, soar like an eagle." ~Ken Blanchard]
[Male] [WindClan] [10 moons] [Apprentice]
____________[LOOKS]
While most of his bodice is a light sandy color (much like dirt), Eaglepaw's tailtip and feet are off-white, giving him a combination of brown and light-cream. The tom's pelt is also rather short and somewhat spikey, looking a bit like bird feathers. These characteristics all resulted in his name. The eyes of Eaglepaw are different, though. Unlike the golden eyes of the majestic bird, Eaglepaw's eyes are blue. That doesn't mean it's not as good as those of an eagle's, of course. The apprentice's eyes, rather than yellow, are blue - a bright, crystal blue, flecked with green all over, like peacock feathers without the flashy dot. And being WindClan, Eaglepaw's limbs are long and swift, his ears perked up, giving him a regal appearence. He is less than regal in personality, though that would be explained in a different sevtion. But his piercing eyes give a different impression. However, his problem with his physical structure is this: he is very small.
____________[PERSONA]
Pretty much all cats see Eaglepaw as an arrogant, stuck-up cat with little to say but a lot to complain. He is usually quiet, but loud as the Thunderpath when he is irked. You don't want to be sharing bedding with him. You'll be his next victim; you'll see.
Actually, like most cats of his type, Eaglepaw isn't all that bad. He's just anti-social, shy, preferring to spend time to himself rather than with his clanmates - and definitely not cats of other clans. The tom just didn't know how to deal with things. His pride is high, but his wits are low. He just appears to have a sharp mouth because he doesn't know how to handle problems, so he argues - just like that. Too much of it molded him into somewhat of a smart-alek. The cat just has a need to impress, and in his head, expectations are high. Just a simple scolding could make his world crash down - especially insults from cats he doesn't know or like particularly well. With strangers, Eaglepaw is an ornery cat. But with close friends and family, he is softer than a kittypet. With them, he is all joy and sunshine - mostly, anyway. While with cats like them, Eaglepaw doesn't feel the need to impress, so he can be himself, without all the worries and stress he drags along on his shoulders. With them, he is good Eaglepaw. Playful Eaglepaw. Eaglepaw without the arrogance, crankiness and silent-mouth.
____________[HISTORY]
As a very young kit, Eaglepaw was very playful and eager for attention. He refused to let his sisters overshadow him. But most of all, at that time, he was social. He blabbered away in the nursery all the time, never straying too far from Breezefur, his mother, and always bounding back for a thorough face lick. But even then expectations boiled deep within him. From all the playful jostles and tumbling, a sense of pride built up in his heart, and it was hard to let it go. He probably still hasn't let it go right now in his apprenticeship. But also, Eaglepaw was afraid of the outside. Despite the other kit's begging and enthusiasm, Eaglepaw simply didn't want to go. His mother didn't know exactly why. It was as if the strange and foreign world out there was waiting for him...Waiting for him to walk blindly into his doom. He was not prepared for it, or at least didn't feel like he was. So he refused to go out of the den and has been made fun of that cowardly move eversince.
Then the day come when he did go outside. All the sights and scents astounded him. There was so much to discover, and he had been missing out on all of this! He had been living under a rock - or chose to, anyway. The smell of fresh air overwhelmed him. All was well - until he met the other cats.
They were not friendly to him, or at least he didn't think so. Isolating himself from the rest of the clan was not very beneficial social-wise. At the first meow, he acted as if he was about to rip their furs off. The cats were weird to him, despite being clanmates. They were total strangers, but acted as if they'd known him his whole life, which, according to Eaglepaw, they didn't. His family did. Even after apprenticeship he was still the same sour way towards other cats. It would be long - maybe even never - before the gap closes.
