[Silentpaw] [Not inclined to speak; mute (An exageration. See below)]
[Male] [Riverclan] [6 Moons] [Apprentice]
____________[LOOKS]
Silentpaw is a small, bulky bundle of fur. At the moment, his paws are (clumsily, awkwardly) much too large for his body. He will one day grow into them, but will always remain on the small side. His nose and paw pads are black, while his fur is an off-black color mottled with lighter flecks of dark gray. It is is thick and sleek like that of many RiverClan cats'. His eyes are a soft, guarded amber color. Though he begs to differ, he is actually quite stocky and muscular for his size. His build means he isn't much in the way of running, but his swimming is average for Riverclan (which means he's amazing at it).
____________[PERSONA]
Silentpaw is not silent. He is merely socially awkward, probably in part due to his mother's sheltering of him as a kit. He is by nature quiet and thoughtful, but this general awkwardness worsens it. He's a sentimental tom, yet doesn't often show it. He thinks that he's wimpy enough because of his size, and that his caring nature will make him appear even weaker. Because of this he's very closed about his true feelings even when he does speak.
Silentpaw is fiercely determined to become a good warrior. What he lacks in strength, he plans to make up for in his intelligence and cunning. He's constantly analyzing (and sometimes over-analyzing) the world around him. His mother's constant fussing irritates him to no end, and he hopes to one day be recognized for the true warrior he is. Holding true to the warrior code, he is extremely suspicious of other clans. He is also somewhat mistrustful of his clanmates (though subconsciously and in an entirely different manner). Most of all he just wants to be accepted. What he does not realize, however, is that the only one who doesn't really accept him is himself.
____________[HISTORY]
Silentpaw's birthing was a difficult one. He was so named because for the first minute or so after birth he made no cry and everyone thought he was stillborn. His mother, weak and despairing, whispered softly "Please live, my silent kit." After a seemingly endless moment of dread, the small kit began to mew weakly but clearly. He would indeed live, it seemed.
Rose-ear named the tom Silentkit, despite her Clanmates' obvious disapproval. The clan viewed the name as a bad omen, but she thought of it as homage to that small miracle sent from Starclan. As a kit, Silentpaw's mother often fussed over him unnecessarily because of his size and weakness. Despite this, he grew up strong and determined in spirit.
____________[IC]
Silentpaw gritted his teeth but said nothing as Rose-ear absently ran her rough tongue over his head. If the action helped calm his mother, he would merely have to endure her fussing. Even so, it bothered him that she still babied him now that he was an apprentice. He glanced around discreetly and thanked Starclan that none of the other apprentices could see him, though he did notice an elder grinning with obvious amusement. Embarassment welled up inside him and, as always, he focused his gaze downward on his bulky, overgrown paws.
____________[FAMILY]
