Pantherpaw skipped out of the Apprentice's Den and sat down amongst the other cats just as Spicestar began to speak. Wow, the entire Clan's out here... What in the name of StarClan is going on? she thought curiously. Her tail started to flick impatiently of it's own accord.
Spicestar glanced around at the gathered faces. It seemed everyone was finally here, albeit fairly restless. He laid eyes upon each face, aware that it may be the very last time he got the chance to do so. His eyes lingered on Greenheart's before he bagan to speak. "I'm really sorry for waking everyone up," he began, "But this is an emergency. ShadowClan was ambushed by RiverClan and ThunderClan... and, still is. Right now. However, they're losing very badly and lots of their warriors have been injured or killed. We can either leave them to it, and have three Clans come after us, or help and try and drive out the threat. I personally think helping them is our best chance, but what does everyone else think? I'm not going to risk your lives if you despise the idea," he concluded. Although he had given them a choice, he hoped with all his heart that they'd choose to help. Spicestar wasn't sure if his conscious could bear to leave innocent cats to die at the paws of power-hungry piles of fox-dung.

Eaglepaw noticed Pantherpaw taking a seat and gave her a lick. "Hi, sleepyhead. You're late," he mewed just above a whisper to his sister. Pouncepaw gave her a feline smile and looked up just as Spicestar spoke: "I'm really sorry for waking everyone up." The leader continued on, explaining how ShadowClan was being sabotaged and ThunderClan and RiverClan were teaming up and WindClan may be threatened if they didn't help now.
"ThunderClan and RiverClan together? Since when?!" Eaglepaw blurted out.
Pouncepaw shushed him, flicking her tail over his mouth. "StarClan knows," she mewed, suddenly solemn, "But Spicestar is right. Helping them is the best chance ShadowClan -- we've got." She put effort into her words to sound persuasive, but judging by Eaglepaw's expression, he wasn't too convinced.
OOC; sorry -- I'm in a hurry

Petalstream crept silently to the edge of the group and sat down. But she immediately stood up again. "That is wrong!" she whispered loudly. "It is cruel!" She licked her fur angrily, glancing quickly up at Spicestar, then back down again. Her eyes were flames of fury. "We must help them!" She told herself. Petalstream's inner battle raged. Should she help or not? "Of course I'll help!" she was silently yelling at herself. "Oh why?" Petalstream moaned. Petalstream's conscious won over her, so she perked her ears to listen to Spicestar again.

Pouncepaw glared at Eaglepaw. "See?" she mewed, "Even Petalstream agrees so." She held her tail high, glad that Petalstream was speakingly openly about her opinion. It was good to have a warrior on her side.
"Yeah?" Eaglepaw rolled his eyes, "That she-cat is yelling at herself. Just listen!" His words were met with a jab in the rib.
Pouncepaw couldn't believe her ears. Her fur was pricked at an end. "No way, Eaglepaw, don't you see we have to help them?" she seethed.
"It's there battle, not ours!" Eaglepaw was yowling, "Do we have to spill blood on every battle? StarClan have mercy, Pouncepaw, you're getting yourself killed!"
"Better to take a chance than to never try!" Pouncepaw backlashed, "Haven't you been listening? If ShadowClan dies, we're next! At least if we side by ShadowClan now, we have a few extra cats by our side. Just be glad right now that the battle is on their territory, not ours."
To this, the tom could only hiss in anger. Pouncepaw knew he got him. But now, after their ear-cracking quarrel, the night suddenly became quiet. Crickets sang. Pouncepaw glanced around awkwardly. Even Eaglepaw shifted in his seat uncomfortably. "Um, well, it's settled then," the she-cat chortled in a distinctly fake tone. "Are we off, then?"

Petalstream glanced at Pouncepaw and Eaglepaw. "A battle that is to be launced can be avoided." She said wisely. "But a battle that cannot be won without help must end eventually." She dipped her head in silence. "We must help ShadowClan to end the battle. It should not be long and drawn out." She glanced sharply at Eaglepaw. "And I am not crazy." she purred in amusement. "My concious has two sides." She lifted her head to gaze at Spicestar again.

Coldfoot didn't recieve an answer to his question and it angered him... But the answer Spicestar did give made him wonder... Snowpelt and Ravenscar were gone... What if they had not waited to talk to the Leader and gone off by themselves? He recalled Snowpelt talking a little excessively about the wellfare of ShadowClan... Not really enough to arrouse much suspicion, it could be that she was simply worried about the threat of ThunderClan and RiverClan... They had all been at the Gathering... They heard the threats from Duskstar...
Coldfoot narrowed his ice blue gaze as it remained fixated, unblinkingly, on their Leader. He listened to his call and then listened to the emotions of his Clan. Nothing passed the cold, lithe tom's gaze, but finally he lifted his own voice just loud enough to hear, but bearing great weight and seriousness. "What are we to do? Sit here safe in our moor and hope Duskstar doesn't turn his bloodthirsty gaze upon us next? What are we... Cats? Or the mice that we hunt... I am with Spicestar. I say we attack. Not to help ShadowClan but to stop ThunderClan and their StarClan-scorning allies." He nodded as he fell silent, that gaze still fixed upon Spicestar.

Pouncepaw nodded whole-heartedly. All these cats had great points. Surely they'd be able to convince the others somehow? "Yes, definitely. I'm with Coldfoot, Spicestar and Petalstream!" she yowled into the crowd and gave a sideways glare to Eaglepaw, whom sighed and shook his head.
"Fine. Let's go," the young tom mewed reluctantly. I really hate admitting this, he thought to himself with a sigh. "Let's go already! I don't want to just sit around and wait for ShadowClan to get beaten to pulp!"
"That's the spirit!" Pouncepaw mewed cheerily and gave her denmate a playful nudge. "Spicestar, when are we going? It must be soon!" she called up to the leader above.

Petalstream grinned at the young apprentice. You have wise words for such a small cat. She teased. Then she faced her leader. Pouncepaw speaks true. When are we going Spicestar? I am no medicine cat, but most of our cats are fit. I will leave now to scout if you'd like. Petalstream said loudly, standing up and jumping as if she would race out of camp the moment she got Spicestar's permission. Her slight excitement was contagious, though a nagging doubt bounced around in her mind. Why, why, why did I boldly face him like that? But Petalstream pushed it away. I am ready. Petalstream's voice rang strong and clear. She said in her mind, WE are ready.
