Starsong
Starsong was in camp, padding back and forth impatiently. Once Moonpaw entered camp, she gave her a hard look, along with her usual fierceness mixed in there."Where were you? It's sunhigh, and you were supposed to be helping sort the herbs back at the den at sunrise!"She stopped and sat down, wrapping her tail elegantly over her paws. "I'll wait for your answer and it better be a good excuse." Starsong knew she pushing her apprentice a bit too hard, but it was necessary. If Shadowclan ever launched a counterattack when they healed, Moonpaw couldn't be padding off on her own. The clan needed her there. But all the same, she was just an apprentice. She reminded Starsong a little bit of her younger self, back when she had been carefree and youthful. Not that Starsong didn't possess those qualities anymore, she just held them back. Her clan came first, and she needed to do everything to serve it. No matter how much she wished she was young again, nothing would happen. She needed to get her head out of memories and into the present, to the war. Starsong focused on Moonpaw once more.

Soulpaw
Soulpaw happily padded into camp, bouncing every step or so. She gently grabbed a vole from the fresh-kill pile and skittered over to a sunny spot. She closed her eyes and laid down. Then she opened her eyes. Quick as lightning, she threw her head forward and wolfed down the vole. Soulpaw sighed and rolled over, gently batting at her belly. "This is the life." Then she remembered the training practice she had planned with Noxshadow. She sprang up and wildly spun her body, her eyes analyzing the camp for any sign of Noxshadow. She couldn't wait for the training lesson! Soulpaw giggled, imagining her pinning down Noxshadow as if it were a breeze.

~Tumblestep~ This was all wrong... They had won the battle, and yet Tumblestep couldn't help but feel the invisible claws shredding her belly. She felt empty and angry with herself and her Clan. How could they attack ShadowClan when they did nothing to deserve it? Sure... Duskstar had stated they deserved it and needed it... But how? Why? The young Warrior had so many questions that were unanswered. She sighed and moved to the full fresh kill pile, depositing most of her catch of the morning upon it. And taking a single starling for herself. This was not how ThunderClan was supposed to be... She sighed and shook out her fur before glancing around Camp wondering where her beloved Shrubwhisker had gotten to... She had asked if he wanted to go hunting this morning, but he had been busy. She sighed and shook her head a little. Everything was so confusing, but one thing was good in her life... Shrubwhisker had made it out of the battle alive with her. As had all her Clanmates. There had been no losses as far as she knew, and yet... What was the point of all of this? She soon moved off quietly to lay in the shade near the Warrior's den and enjoy her meal in silence. She had no Apprentice to train at the moment, so really nothing to do until her next patrol which wasn't for a bit of time yet. Great... And boredom would set in. She supposed she could go hunting again, but why... They were doing well with Fresh Kill, so for now she continued to watch the activity in camp, smiling slightly in amusement as she watched the antics of one of the Apprentices.

M O O N P A W !
We'll die like colours So paint me black and blue
Moonpaw gulped as Starsong gazed down at her intently. She was in Trouble. With a capital T. "I was c-collecting moss," she stammered awkwardly. Great, now it sounded like she was lying. "We were running low? And, um, now we're not. Ta-da!" Moonpaw grinned sheepishly. That was a lame excuse. This was Soulpaw's fault for distracting her! She shot a glare over in Soulpaw's direction. Wait. It wasn't fair to blame Soulpaw for a mistake that Moonpaw had made. That wasn't how medicine cats worked. "I'm sorry, I forgot I was meant to help sort herbs, I just noticed barely any moss and off I ran. I'll try harder next time. Sorry for being so forgetful!" Moonpaw blushed under her black fur. Well, at least it was invisible.
[sorry for short post, I g2g]

Starsong
Starsong continued to glare at Moonpaw through narrowed eyes, then sighed. "Fine." Starsong snapped. "But hurry and eat some fresh-kill, we're going herb-gathering. Meet me at the enterance to camp after you eat." Starsong padded away and then turned. "Before sundown." She turned again and continued out of camp until she was no longer in sight. Starsong sighed. She spotted a mouse and wondered if she should stalk it. She would probably be rusty, she hadn't practiced her crouch since she became a full medicine cat. "Oh well, there's no o around to see me fail" Starsong muttered. She quickly crouched and padded forward, then pounced. The mouse didn't have a chance. Starsong looked at the mouse. "I guess. My mentor always said that even though I wasn't a warrior, I would always have the heart of one." Starsong quickly ate the mouse and thanked Starclan for the food, then waited for Moonpaw.

M O O N P A W !
Nyan nyan, nyan nyan, ni hao nyan? Gorgeous, delicious, deculture!
Moonpaw nodded quickly and scampered over to the fresh-kill pile to select some prey. What do I feel like today? Not mouse... Is that a snake? Ew! Maybe... Eventually Moonpaw picked a thrush and gulped it down before cleaning her paws. She was ready to go out again, so with a flick of her tail she bounced over to Starsong, in a thoroughly better mood now that her belly was full. She glanced around. Did Starsong leave me? She sniffed and discovered Starsong's scent. She wasn't the best at hunting, but nonetheless she pressed her nose down and followed the trail. In fact, she was following it so intently that she didn't realise the trail had ended, therefore walking straight into Starsong's flank. "Oops! Sorry!" she gasped, stepping back abruptly. She couldn't seem to do anything right! Except collect moss! Time to quickly and masterfully change the subject. "So what are we looking for? I noticed we need a little more marigold, especially with some of the cat's infected wounds from the battle," she said quickly, attempting to sound intelligent.

Starsong nodded. "Yes. We should get some poppy seeds as well." Starsong padded ahead, motioning for Moonpaw to follow. While walking, she took a few moments to admire the scenery, when the scent of marigold suddenly hit her. Starsong rushed towards the scent. When she found the marigold, Starsong picked it and gingerly held it in her mouth. Starsong pointed the the leftover marigold with her tail while looking at Moonpaw. "Pick some of it Moonpaw, but not all. Remember,we don't want to pick all of it, or we won't have any left for later. We still need it to grow for when we really need it." Noticing a pond, Starsong smiled. She discretely dipped her tail in the water, then flicked it at Moonpaw. Starsong smiled. "Now hurry along, Moonpaw." She said playfully.
[glow=red,2,300][shadow=red,left,300]Soulpaw[/shadow][/glow]
Soulpaw looked around, searching for any sight of Noxshadow. "Where is he? He promised me a battle session!" Soulpaw mumbled. Growing impatient, Soulpaw stomped her paws. After more waiting, Soulpaw ran through the entrance. Unfortunately, she bumped into someone. "Sorry!"

"Oof" Tumblestep surged forward a little as one of the Apprentices plowed lightly into her. She looked over her shoulder at the young one and smiled in amusement. Her tail flicked a little and she nudged her lightly with her nose in a rather playful manner. "Careful there... You alright?" She mewed with a caring sound to her voice. She glanced around looking for her mentor. She recognized this one as Soulpaw, Apprentice to Noxshadow. She hadn't seen Noxshadow around in a bit, and wondered where he had been. Granted, Tumblestep hadn't paid much attention to her clanmates, other than her beloved Shrubpaw, but still... She noticed she hadn't seen all that much of Noxshadow lately.
She glanced down at her untouched starling in front of her and she glanced at Soulpaw, suddenly not feeling all that hungry. "Have you eaten lately Soulpaw? Got to keep your strength up afterall." Always the caring one... Even if Tumblestep had seemed rather distant lately... But she would make sure the Apprentices and well... Everyone were taken care of as well as she possibly could. When she wasn't brooding about their current situation and such... But for now this seemed to be one of those times where Tumblestep snapped out of it and tried to care for her Clan.

stumbleknot. the obstacles have only begun.
ooc; Wow, it's been a while...I'm going to be rusty >.<
bic; Back in camp. nobody was happy. That one thing was for sure. Wherever the deputy looked, there were grim faces, drooping tails, and tiresomeness in every step every cat took. Sure, here and there were bursts of little energy and happiness, but mostly it was all pessimism. It was obvious the battle had taken a lot of out of every cat, and likely not just in ThunderClan as well. Once he had come across a group of WindClan cats while patrolling the border. It was not that they were underfed; only they were not "in the sorts", if you may call it.
Stepping out of his den only confirmed Stumbleknot's thoughts. He grunted a greeting to a dozing cat and walked to the center of the camp, where he spotted Tumblestep, Starsong and Soulpaw, three cats being at least a little optimistic for once. The tom padded over and gave the apprentice a playful prod from the back. "Watcha' doing, fella?" the deputy asked.

Soulpaw waved her tail side to side. "I just ate a while ago, but I'm still kind of hungry." Looking at the starling, Soulpaw hungrily scarfed it down. She let out a purr of happiness. "Delicious!" Then she felt something hit her back. She looked around the see stumbleknot. "Watcha' doing fella?" Soulpaw cocked her head cutely. "Nothing really, just looking for Noxshadow, he said he was going to take me training, but he isn't around. Man I miss battle-practice! Heeyyyy.....! Can you train me instead? Just for today? Pleeeaaaasssseeee!?" Soulpaw begged, making the cutest eyes she could muster. "Please Stumblestep???!!"

Stumbleknot laughed at the mispronunciation. His and Tumblestep's names really are similar. The deputy meorred in amusement as Soulpaw widened her eyes as big as she could in the cutest expression she could muster in loud, desperate begs and gave the young apprentice a little nudge. "Fine by me, then," the tom mewed, "But only this time. Noxshadow wouldn't like to see the clan deputy stealing his apprentice, would he now?"
Although, as much as Stumbleknot never minded stepping in to do a littl eextra mentoring, the apprentice's words stuck in his mind and he just realized -- oh, his obliviousness, for StarClan's sake -- the frequent disappearances of the certain black tom who was Soulpaw's chosen mentor.

Tumblestep perked her ears up and looked to Soulpaw, tilting her head to the side some as she didn't get an answer to her question. But that was fine, by the way she was begging Stumbleknot to train her, she seemed to be in top condition. It had been a while, but this made Tumblestep smile warmly. The young generation was where their life and vitality lay. Without them, they had nothing.
A mreow of laughter of her own surged forth at the combining of her own and their Deputy's name. She gave a rather sheepish grin Stumbleknot's way and laid a single ear back in an amused expression. She shook her head a little as she stood not far from the two. "Now that's an interesting combination to be sure." She laughed a little and nodded again before glancing around camp once more. She tilted her head a little and flicked her tail from side to side. "Would you two mind terribly if I came with you?"

stumbleknot. Tumblestep flashed a sheepish grin, laying a single ear back in an amused expression. "Now that's an interesting combination to be sure," the she-cat laughed lightly and nodded, glancing around the camp. Head tilted, tail swishing, she asked, "Would you two mind terribly if I came with you?"
"By StarClan, why not?" replied Stumbleknot with a flick of an ear, "And I'm certain Soulpaw wouldn't care a mousedung either, would you now, Soulpaw?" he added with a chuckle. The deputy stood up to stretch, turning around to face the path toward the sandy hollow. He beckoned with his tail. "So are we ready or not?" OOC; haha... funny how my muse simply deadens after a long hibernation as this...
