the Gathering. -OPEN- {unless told otherwise.} Oh yes, it's here folks! The gathering. The clan leaders are required to come. We don't want any leaderless clans running around. It's evil. Other than that, follow the rules inforced during the gathering.
New leaders & deputies -Riverstar x Cranefeather- RiverClan -Bluestar x Spicefur - WindClan - Sharpfang- deputy]] Shadowclan
Rules inforced during the Gathering - The gathering truce is sacred. Do not break it. - *The word of the leader is the warrior code. -
*- If you break this rule, the leaders will hang you by your nose. Or tongue. xD jk

[Well, I think it's suitable if Cranefeather comes in first, so I shall post~] c r a n e f e a t h e r !
A great war leaves the country with three armies - an army of cripples, an army of mourners, and an army of thieves. ~German Proverb Now was the time. The second step of the plot. It was time to crush the other Clans under RiverClan - and Cranefeather's - might. The smart Clans would give in. The others would be absolutely dominated. Cranefeather was leading - Riverfleet was a little way behind. Hopefully, Cranefeather's size would scare everyone - he hadn't been to many Gatherings, since he was only 14 moons old. And nobody would remember him - now they would. Cranefeather was one of the two largest cat in RiverClan, the other being Foxspirit. Although Cranefeather hoped he would keep growing... Anyway. He stopped walking, and saw Fourtrees below. Apparently, RiverClan was here first. Wonderful. He signalled for everyone to follow with him tail, and raced down the hill. He got down to the hollow and sat down to wait for Riverfleet.
[Eh. No muse, I apologize sincerely *bow*]

r i v e r f l e e t Standing right in front of you, killing birds.
Riverfleet trotted after Cranefeather, fast enough for her to catch up to him. "Hey." She meowed, sitting next to him for a minute, before climbing up the rock where all four leaders sat. She had taken Silverstar's place, this would possibly be a suprise to the other leaders. This was the easy part. Hopefully the rest of the clans would come soon, so she could tell why Silverstar wasn't there. Obviously, she was dead. She helped, and *watched* her die. Her nose twitched. She was slightly impatient. [yup, no muse either.]

(Admins, check out the Lair. I made some updates ;P)
Ravenclaw sat at the top of the ravine, the RiverClanners pouring around him, fanning out to fill the clearing. He ignored the cats that protested at his frozen state, brushing up against him as they hurried down. With utter confidence, Cranefeather and Riverfleet took their positions, Cranefeather settled just below his leader and mate above on the High Rock. Bitterness stirred in him as he picked his way down the slope, his amber eyes low. Riverfleet shouldn't be on that rock yet. She should be where Cranefeather was now, on the ground, equal with her Clanmates. Silverstar has always stayed on the ground, chatting until the very last minute. He settled himself on the fringe of the Gathering, away from the others. Riverfleet shouldn't be there, not until StarClan had granted her nine lives, had confirmed that Silverstar was really dead. Ravenclaw still couldn't believe that his dear sister had been defeated so easily by some simple, untrained rouges. He couldn't accept that she had every last life ripped away from her. Grief swamped him as he scanned the clearing, unable to see her sleek grey form. There had not been a moment in their lives where the brother and sister had been apart- they did everything together. As kits, they made sure they had stepped out of the nursery at the same time, so neither could say that the other had gotten out first. As apprentices, they begged their mentors to train together. And as warriors, they were always together all patrols, sleeping next to one another in the den. Even when Silverstar had moved into the leader's den, she and Ravenclaw had shared everything with each other. They had been there for each other, through thick and thin. And now Silverstar, the brave, proud leader of RiverClan was gone, hunting with StarClan. Why did I ever come with them? he thought with anguish, glaring at Cranefeather and Riverfleet, so cool and collected, looking high and mighty. Because camp held too many memories. Too many reminders, he remembered. But this, this was worst in ways. He had always supported Silverstar, encouraged her that first time she had to step in for Riddlestar, when the leader was too ill to travel. She had confideded in him with her worries and doubts about becoming leader... Ravenclaw shook his head, as if to dispell the thoughts. Grieving for his sister would never bring her back. Heart heavy, Ravenclaw lay down on the cool, moist earth, his eyes glazed over as RiverClan waited for the Gathering to being.

Midnightstar stood at the top of the slope with Shadeclaw standing faithfully at her side, brushing her flank with his tail whenever a worried look passed over her features. She'd been fretting almost constantly about the loss of her two most recent deputies, and she had begun to feel a little strange, like there was something tugging at her; drawing her away. She had confided only in Shadeclaw about this strange feeling, which had only caused him to grow even more protective. The black she-cat looked behind her and waved her tail to signal the clan to descend the slope. The leader broke into a run, leading the way to the four great oaks. Her and Shadeclaw stopped side-by-side amongst the RiverClan cats, looking around in confusion. "Where is Silverstar?" hissed Midnightstar to Shadeclaw, narrowing her eyes as she scanned the cats present. "I cannot see her either. You should ask those two," replied the tom, motioning to Riverfleet and Cranefeather with his tail. "I am curious, but I'll just wait until the Gathering starts to hear what they have to say," the she-cat said. "I hope ShadowClan gets here soon," she added with a glance at the top of the slope.
Ooc; So, yeah, ThunderClanners are free to post now. ^^

[*overwhelmed by replies* - sarcasm... Guess I'll go again then - it's short because there's really not that much for me to reply to. as Craneh can't read minds ^-^] c r a n e f e a t h e r !

Cranefeather's whiskers twitched as Riverfleet walked past. Although she smelled absolutely stunning, Cranefeather was still kind of annoyed at her for falling asleep when they were... doing... deeds. Well, killing Silverstar. No use sugar-coating it, was there? Oh great, now he was talking to himself. He glanced behnd him. Ravenclaw was the first to arrive. Silverstar's brother... His eyes looked kind of glazed over. Huh, weak much? But before he could ponder it much, as he liked to, the ThunderClan kitties arrived. With Midnightstar at the lead, and Shadeclaw not far behind. He could see them whispering to each other. He strained to hear, but was too far away, and only picked up 'cannot', 'curious', and 'what they have to.' Curiousity killed the cat, he thought to himself bitterly. Where did he get that fom, anyway? Oh well.

[/blockquote] Riverfleet was angry at Cranefeather . For leaving the crime scene without waiting for her. Riverfleet had the right to choose a new deputy. After that, she had put serious consideration into doing that. Chernobyltoxin followed the other cats, squaring her shoulders. She knew what was going on. It didn't matter though. She wasn't about to tell, the words of one cat were nothing. Riverfleet waited quietly. She was still tired, even though she had slept through most of the day yesterday. Spottedstorm had wondered what happened to Silverstar. Maybe she lost her lives to Greencough. That was what she summed up in her head.

Cobra lead SnakeClan down the way. Cobra wandered over to the oaks and sat down near, waiting. Coby boinged around, chatting with some RiverClanners about the best fish to eat. Snake stayed to the back looking for something... Rattles and Slithers eavesdropped on some chatty elders And the moon rose

A blue gray shape was among the tide of RiverClan cats. Rather unremarkable, but his odd eyes were catching, sweeping wildly over the valley, cast over the four towering oaks, one golden-amber, warm, bright, the other cool deep blue. They both focused on Reiverfleet and Cranefeather in turn. The new leaders.
How odd that was.
Silverstar’s death… It had been so unexpected. It saddened him. So his mismatched eyes were hard and cold as they poured into the sacred place. He was deeply disturbed by this death, by the pain reflected in RiverClan eyes. This would weaken them, weaken the Clan. He would have to gather herbs soon, before leaf-fall set in and killed them.
Smokestream had organized his herbs twice today. There wasn’t anything really out of place, but it made the Clan seem stronger, with rigidly placed herbs in perfectly neat stacks and placed so that the most commonly needed ones were closest to the mouth of the den, less commonly used ones towards the back. And anyway, he hadn’t really organized them well in a little while. Sure they’d been neat, but now they could have passed a military inspection.
There was subtle pride in that.
The grove was bathed in moonlight, and starlight, and his gaze was drawn upwards to the stars, where his ancestors and old friends and his former leader hunted. Where was Silverstar? Could he see her from where he sat, looking up, tail curled neatly over his forepaws? A soft breeze hushed through the oaks, almost like a sigh.
Smokestream had been expecting them to come to him all sobbing, and he had readied himself to whip them into shape, drilled his speech. ‘She hunts with StarClan now. If she needs you, she’ll let us know. Now celebrate her life by not moping about her death.’ And then whatever else the situation asked for. Done everything short of practice it aloud, and he hadn’t been able to use it once. Hadn’t said anything sarcastic, cynical, critical… Things were falling away from what they had for so long called normal, tumbling into some black abyss. Despair hung around them like a disease.
At least no one was sick. If anything started spreading around the grieving cats, then the Clan was quite possibly doomed to casualties. More casualties. Almost aggressively he scanned the Clan, looking for signs of illness. But everyone’s eyes were dulled, everyone looked tired and haggard. Everyone looked sick because everyone’s heart had been replaced by a dull ache. Angry at the situation, Smokestream spat into the dust, then sighed.
StarClan help us. He prayed, picturing Silverstar running the message up a beam of light to the rest of StarClan. It was almost comforting. [[first post as smokestream – hope I didn’t screw him up too badly.]]

(I ish back)
Echostar trotted along happily. Finally she had earned back some trust from her clan. She had decided upon a deputy, Sharpfang. So she lead in her clan, head held high. At last she reached highrock and leapt up, ready to begin. Noticing that silverstar was gone, she surveyed the cat beside her with ill-disguised contempt at the disrespect she was showing her dead leader by not waiting till it began.

EmberGaze padded in and then sat down near the might RiverClanners who she didn't know. "Who are you?" She asked the two.
