Gingerstorm was once a handsome, dark ginger tom. His fur was as soft as a kitten's, and as well-groomed as a Queen's kit. But this all went away after his big depression and change of heart. His appearance is a thing of the past. His fur is rugged most of the time, his once-slick fur, is now dull. Some of this came with age, some didn't. Gingerstorm has dull, blue eyes and a white chest and paws. They were once stunning, and were one of his many charms he used as an apprentice and an early warrior.

Gingerstorm is very gruff and strong-willed, to begin with. He does not like being ordered around by cats with ranks lower than he is. He doesn't trust many, and is one to be suspicious. Gingerstorm is one to be brutally honest, as he believes that besides loyalty and courage, honesty is the next best thing. Also, Gingerstorm has a strong faith in Starclan, despite the events in his life. He doesn't understand, or really care to understand why everyone he once cared for were taken so early in life. Gingerstorm has no true ambition to become Deputy or Leader, and says, "Let the younger cats be leader." But of course, if he was to ever be chosen, he wouldn't turn it down.

Kitten-Hood

As a kit, Gingerkit was always the stereotypical quiet and angry type. He didn't truly care for playing and scampering like his siblings Thornkit and Cloudkit. While they played, he would sit in the shade, by himself. On his fourth moon, however, he got to know a pretty, pale amber-coloured she-cat named Honeykit. The two became fast friends, and would nearly spend all of their time under a tree chatting about things.

Yep, it seemed that the odd kit Gingerkit was finally acting somewhat normal. He had a friend to play with, and Honeykit got him to talk more often. As time wore on, the friends became closer. But little did they know, was that they wouldn't be friends again for a long time.

Apprenticeship

On the night of Gingerkit's apprentice ceremony, Gingerkit was a bit upset that Honeykit wouldn't be a apprentice for another two moons, but Honeykit assured him that they would be apprentices together soon enough and Gingerkit felt better. The next morning, Gingerpaw was taken out for training, and quickly became friends with a handsome older apprentice named Lionpaw. Lionpaw was humourous, but still understood Gingerpaw like Honeykit did.

After another moon, Honeykit was finally apprenticed. While she was excited to finally start training with Gingerpaw, Gingerpaw had almost seemed to have forgotten her. Left her in the dust. Honeypaw was heart-broken, and told him that they were no longer friends, Gingerpaw somewhat realized what he had done wrong. The two friends made up, and the rest of their apprenticeship is pretty unexciting.

Warrior-Hood

When Gingerpaw and Honeypaw were ready to become warriors, a tragedy struck and Cloudpaw, Gingerpaw's sister drowned when she tripped on a rock and bumped her head. After a day or so of mourning, Gingerpaw, Thornpaw and Honeypaw received their warrior names. Thornpaw became Thornfur, Honeypaw became Honeyfur, and Gingerpaw became Gingerstorm. Soon after these events, Foxwhisker and Russetpelt announced their retirements, and went on to live as Elders for a couple of moons, till their joint death.

Four moons later, Honeyfur and Gingerstorm became mates. After being, "just friends" for so long, they both confessed their love for each other. Eight moons later, Honeyfur became sick with Whitecough, and nearly lost them their kits. A quarter-moon later, the kits came and Honeyfur was still so desperately sick. Because of Honeyfur's sickness, the kits were killed.

Not only were his kits dead, but he also lost Honeyfur in the process. She didn't have enough strength to borne kits, and had lost too much blood. Gingerstorm was heartbroken. Since then, Gingerstorm has been the way he is, alone and bitter.
