Spicestar deposited the rabbits on the dwindling fresh kill pile. That was a worry, the Clan was growing and the pile was not... Well, he was pretty sure he'd found a solution. New apprentices! Less kits to feed, more cats to hunt. And Breezefur's three kits were old enough, and there were... Two eligible warriors. But he'd decided he wanted to mentor one of the kits himself. And he needed a deputy... Well, time to sort out all of those problems. He padded over to the small rock he'd pushed himself to the head of the clearing. Small, but he could see all the cats who gathered. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather at the Small Rock for a Clan meeting!" he called. Small Rock was the fanciest name he could think of for the unimpressive little boulder.
Pantherkit's ears pricked up at Spicestar's summon. Oh! Wow! He'd told her and Eaglekit and Dapplekit that they were going to be apprentices today! She squealed in excitement and bolted outside, screeching to a halt in front of Spicestar. "Here, here!" she mewed excitedly. Spicestar smiled at her, and motioned for her to stand next to the little rock he stood on. Struggling to suppress her excitement, she padded to the spot that Spicestar had pointed out.

[Rootpelt]
Hearing the familiar call Rootpelt calmly trotted out from the warrior’s den, his brown and tan coat seemingly unmoving as he brought his form towards the clan meeting place. Spicestar was waiting upon the newly acquired rock as Rootpelt settled himself next to the only other cat who had gathered. A very excited kit she was and Rootpelt figured this calling was more then too simply enlighten the clan about the coming of leaf-bare and the actions needed to be taken.
Rootpelt’s tail easily encircled his paws as his gaze focused to the form before him and its slight rise above ground level, his tail tip twitched with subtle amusement, though he had to admit it was better then craning his neck all night at a gathering. Upon studying the clan’s new leader his pale orbs swiveled sideways, catching the to-be apprentice’s form with its excited air. “Don’t tire yourself, your new name isn’t going anywhere.” His voice seemed emotionless though Rootpelt meant the words in no bad way. He himself had been excited at his apprentice ceremony, though he had kept the emotion under taps. He wondered vaguely if it was because his mother had been watching, but he dismissed the train of thought at that and waited upon Spicestar’s next words.

Rippedtail and Sandfoot emerged from the medicine den, the medicine cat resting her tail lightly across the elder's shoulders as guidance. They sat down side by side in front of the little rock where Spicestar had called from. Rippedtail glanced over at the excited Pantherkit, and her whiskers twitched. "Breezefur's kits," she said warmly to Sandfoot. "I thought it was about time they were apprenticed." Sandfoot nodded to her friend as the only sign of acknowledgement and began to groom her sandy fur with little enthusiasm. "Boring old bat," Rippedtail chuckled, looking away when the old cat paused her grooming to glare at her.

Eaglekit OOC; quick post here >_<' sorry about my lack of muse! Eaglekit tossed and turned around his den anxiously, but excited all the same. Finally he was moving out of this crowded old nursery! He jumped when he heard Spicestar's voice, and bolted out of the den and straight into Spicestar himself. "Oof!" he blurted out as he tumbled onto the earth. His mother had just groomed him earlier, and so now his brown pelt was stained with even darker brown specks of dirt. Eaglekit shook his body, flinging the debris off of his bodice and across the moor of WindClan. Nice first impression! he snapped at himself in his mind. Normally, he wasn't so excited, but today; today was a special day. He was going to be apprenticed. [/blockquote]

Ghostwalker and Ravenpaw padded into the clearing one after another, a rabbit in Ghostwalker's jaws and Ravenpaw holding two pitiful looking shrews. At the annoucement of a clan meeting Ravenpaw looked around for Iridescentsight but she was no where to be found. He let out a chrestfallen sigh and Ghostwalker chuckled at him. "Don't count your eggs before their in the nest." He murmured, a knowing looking in his eyes as he padded over to sit next to Rippedtail. "Hello there. Fine day isn't it?" He mused idly, waiting for the gathering to begin. Ravenpaw sat next to Sandfoot, hunching over and flattening his ears as if he expected her to snap at him like she had when he was her apprentice. He glanced her way, wondering if she was feeling mildly pleasent today, and then tried a smile. It looked like a grimace. "Hello Sandfoot." He meowed, his voice cracking when he said 'hello' making it sound like something odd, possibly obscene. He hoped she wouldn't take it the wrong way. He looked toward Spicestar for a moment and wondered what this whole thing was about. Well, if he sat here long enough, he'd find out.
Dapplekit bounded out of the nursery, feeling very cheery today and sat next to Eaglekit. Then she stood, then she sat again, then she started to excitedly lick bits of debris off of Eaglekit's pelt. "You look horrible all covered in dirt, what did you do?" She mewed, trying to make sure he was pefectly clean by the time Spicestar started talking, but all she was doing was making his fur stand up on end and stick out in weird clumps.

Spicestar chuckled as Eaglekit raced straight into his chest, bouncing right off. Spicestar was strong for such a small build, and no feather-light kit was going to knock him about. The ginger tom scanned the clearing. Ghostwalker had arrived. Good. Lynxstep - now where was Lynxstep? He frowned. Well, since most of the Clan was here, he might as well start the ceremony anyway. "Hiya, everyone," he said, dipping his head. "I'm sure those of you who were at the Gathering have heard the sad news, Bluefang, our previous leader, has chosen to retire to the Elder's Den because of her failing sight. Since I'm the new leader, I have to pick my deputy." He paused to clear his throat. "I say these words under the gaze of StarClan, so that they may hear and approve my choice. Ghostwalker will be the new deputy of WindClan." Ghostwalker was a bit young, but that meant he had plenty of energy and ideas to help the Clan. Spicestar thought he was a good choice - besides, maybe the position would bring him out of his shell a little. He waited for the cheering and mews on congratulation to die down a little. "I have some more fantastic news." He smiled at the three eager kits. "It's time for Breezefur's kits to become apprentices, but, since one of the mentors I have in mind is not here, we'll have to wait until they arrive."

Breezefur & Rainpelt Fearsome females of the wind
Breezefur hurried out of the nursery after Eaglekit, calling him back. Too excited to hear her, the tiny tom bolted off, sliding into Spicestar. Dapplekit had beat her to smothering Eaglekit in cleaning licks, which made her chuckle. Pantherkit was already sitting beneath the small rock, squirming in excitement. She looks just like her father... she thought sadly. A pang went through her heart of how their father, Blackclaw, would never watch this ceremony, nor their warrior ceremony. He would always have to watch from afar as they grew in size, strength, and intelligence as the moons passed, talking with them for the first time at Gatherings. Breezefur ached for what Blackclaw had sacrificed. But each step she took toward her kits, her heart swelled with pride, banishing away the dark thoughts. She sat behind her kits, licking them fervidly in turn to make their fur lie flat and smooth. "Sit still! And remember, whoever your mentors may be, you will treat them with respect and kindness. If they ask you to do something, you do it. That includes you, Pantherkit!" she purred, playfully flicking the black she-cat's ears. Finally satisfied, she shuffled back a few steps. Her eyes glimmering with emotion.
Rainpelt watched Breezefur fuss over her kits with amusement. She couldn't quite tell what the grey and white she-cat was thinking, as first she seemed grim and sober, then suddenly overwhelmed with love and excitment. Rainpelt chuckled to herself. Silently, she slipped up to the kits. "Good luck with your mentors," she whispered. "And don't forget, Panterkit-- you're still in trouble for going out alone," she added, eying her meaningfully. Quickly, she slithered back to her spot, in the center of the group. Even though they were not her kits, Rainpelt felt a connection to the three, feeling lighthearted and proud for the Clan as a whole. And so WindClan continues to grow... she thought. Her thoughts were distracted by Spicestar speaking again. "Ghostwalker!" she called excitedly, seeing the tom startle in surprise. She tuned back in to Spicestar, who was still speaking. Missing someone? she thought, glancing around. Ah. Lynxstep was gone. I think she would work best with Dapplekit. Eaglekit and Pantherkit are just a little too rambunctious for her, she thought with a smile.

Lynxstep, in a weird graceful way, took his place into the clearing, next to his own sister. "Hey." He whispered, glancing at Iridescentsight and smiling slightly. The small she-cat smiled back and leaned her head against Lynxstep. The air was filled with excitement. But Lynxstep wanted it to blow away, like a frozen breath on a cold windy morning. How sad. The pixie-bob let out a frozen breath, and tried to blow it away, but it dissolved much to quickly. He let out a sigh, a longer whisp of frozen air released from his mouth, like smoke.
[x.] Lynxstep flexed his stub of a tail, soon stopping and started flicking it,with as much power as one with a stubby tail could possible possess to flick it. And then he eventually stopped that, and stopped all his movements, except for his breathing. Iridescentsight looked up at him for a second, and snickered, her tail lashing, eventually twisting far enough for her tail to hit Lynxstep's. He glanced at Iridescentsight in suprise, and jerked slightly.
ooc|| longg... : P Oh and Cranesausage, Iridescentsight is going to become Ravenpaw's mentor.

ooc:: yeah, Iridscentsight is Ravenpaw's new mentor since Sandfoot is an elder now... I'm pretty sure she mentored him on ITM. anyway up until now Ghostwalker has been teaching him a little bit.
Ghostwalker jumped at the annoucement of him becoming deputy. His mouth parted in silent surprise as the cats around him cheered his name. He was told nothing of becoming deputy, only of an up coming apprentice. What a shock if was for the white tom! He resisted the urge to hunch over and lower his ears, so many eyes upon him made him the slightest bit panicly, but he forced himself to sit straighter and try and look proud. But inside his stomach was turning. Deputy! He thought, the fur along his spine tingling, I must discuss this with Spicestar, there is some mistake! but then he looked at his clan mates, listening to them cheer his name and his eyes falling on the excited new apprentices. his heart immediately swelled with pride that he would teach one of them, and he looked to Spicestar, imagining himself sitting there. The notion didn't strike fear into his heart, only excitement, the kind you get when you know your going to go somewhere you want to go or do something you want to do. He smiled at Spicestar, dipping his head in respectful thanks.
Ravenpaw purred at Ghostwalker, giving his a curt, respectful nod. He may be smug and the slightest bit shy, but a good choice to Ravenpaw. He flicked his tail anxiously, wondering if his new mentor might be annouced at this meeting, if he would get one. He doubted he wouldn't, but new kits needed mentors first and he was practically a warrior already. He just needed to polish up on his battle moves and hunting technics, but he knew the ropes, the basics and everything else came in time, right? Right?

Spicestar glanced over to Lynxstep as he subtly entered the meeting. Great, now it was time for the apprentice ceremonies to start. He nodded to the kits to step forward. Pantherkit took a giant leap, and landed right in front of him, trying to stuff her excitement down into a box. Pantherkit first, then, he decided. "From this moment, until she has earned her warrior name, this apprentice shall be known as Pantherpaw. Ghostwalker, you will be mentor to this apprentice. You are an intelligent and trusted warrior, and I hope you will pass this knowledge to your new apprentice." The newly named Pantherpaw wiggled with excitement, and stepped forwards to touch her nose with the deputy. The deputy! How cool! Spicestar smiled at the over-eager new apprentice, and started the next part. "From this moment, until she has earned her warrior name, this apprentice shall be known as Dapplepaw. Lynxstep, you will be mentor to this apprentice. You are a true and brave warrior, and I hope you will pass this knowledge to your new apprentice." Spicestar paused again, waiting for the new apprentice and warrior to touch noses. Time for the last one - this could surprise a few cats. "From this moment, until he has earned his warrior name, this apprentice shall be known as Eaglepaw. I will be mentor to this apprentice, and hope to pass my own qualities on to him." Spicestar jumped off the Small Rock, and padded over to his new apprentice to touch noses gently.

Dapplepaw squeaked excitedly beside herself and stepped forward quickly to touch noses with Lynxstep. She smiled at him, her eyes shining with excitement. I'm an apprentice now! How amazing! She thought, her haunches waggling. She couldn't contain herself, the moment had finally come and she wanted to scream it to the world! She was an apprentice!
Ghostwalker smiled, standing and taking a step forward to touch his nose to Pantherpaw's. "Welcome to the ranks, Pantherpaw." He murmured, his eyes glowing with affection. This apprentice, so full of energy and life, he made a vow to himself that would not steer her wrong. It's my duty to make her the best warrior she can be. He thought, a wave of nostalgia washing over him as he remembered his own apprentice ceremony. I'll teach her everything I know. He thought determinely.
Ravenpaw twitched his tail with excitement. He wasn't alone in the apprentice's den anymore! "Pantherpaw! Dapplepaw! Eaglepaw!" He cheered despite himself, he couldn't help it. He was happy to see new apprentices in the clan, now he wouldn't be the only one to change the beding anymore! Or to pick ticks of the elders, what fun this would be! He grinned, new apprentices meant one thing to him, less work!
((ooc:: Crane, can you annouce Ravenpaw's new mentor too? Please and thank you!))

Spicestar watched the scene warmly as the the cats of his Clan welcomed the new apprentices. It was such a a happy, positive scene. His spirits soared. But then he remembered another thing he had to announce. "Thanks, everyone. There's just one more thing. Ravenpaw also needs a mentor, and I have decided that Iridescentsight will be it. That's all everyone!" He stepped back off the rock and waited for everyone to go so he could talk to Eaglepaw and Ghostwalker about tomorrow.

Eaglekitpaw OOC; Sorry about the late post >_< Just say that this came before Crane's, okay? Eaglepaw beamed with pride. He felt like his whole body was shaking, as if he was about to hyperventilate from all of the excitement. And to think that the great Spicestar himself was to be his mentor! It was all too much to grasp at once. It's like he suddenly got a burst of speed from being a slow, laidback tortoise at the nursery to a big apprentice, ready to train to become the best warrior ever known! Surely this wasn't all a dream? Eaglepaw buffed his chest proudly and bowed his head to his leader, now mentor, Spicestar. If only Breezefur knew how happy he was! Eaglepaw was sure that with Spicestar's help, his skills would surpass even his siblings. It all looked too simple. Just work hard, do your best, and be confident. But maybe...maybe it wasn't all that easy... [/blockquote]

MemoryLeaf ran over to the camp at the same time as a loud yowl sounded, "WindClan, I've caught a traitor to the Clans!" She halted at the meeting then thought, Should he take care of this 'traitor' or go to the meeting? After a pause she sat down. If there was a traitor then the deputy or a more experienced cat should deal with it. Even so, she was curious...

Snowpelt had been out hunting, far out in the moors and she hadn't heard the summons. But she would come back with three rabbits in her jaws. She darted back into the camp to see that all the cats were gathered. She winced and droppd her catch on the pile and moved to take a seat at the back. She winced as she was seeing the tail end of the Apprentice ceremony. She sighed slightly. She would not get an Apprentice... She sighed slightly and shook her head a bit feeling terrible. Snowpelt had had one apprentice in her time, and yet somehow he had been lost... The poor blind cat, he didn't have a heck of a lot of hope, and yet he had seemed to be doing so wonderfully...
She sighed slightly and would seat herself near the back, and yet she would call out the new names of the kits... No the apprentices. Her tail swayed slightly as she watched the end of the meeting, her eyes glittering. She looked over to Ghostwalker seeing him looking shocked. Could he be who was chosen as Deputy to Spicestar? That must be it... She sighed slightly and would glance off, finding herself in her own little world. That was when Memoryleaf ran into camp announcing something about a traitor. For the time being she looked to Spicestar and Ghostwalker, uncertain how they would respond to this.
OOC: Firewrath I thought Memoryleaf was a tom... Lol when Flower played Memoryleaf, him and Snowpelt were going to be together... Lol but ok...
