If looks could kill, I'd be in trouble right now Time stands still when you're around Well I gave you all my time and you gave me all your lies And you've just come around to say goodbye "Sort of," Riverfleet told him, "but, the first few days aren't that cold." The older she-cat turned and faced Cranepaw. "Anymore questions you'd like to ask?" she demanded, an underlying edge to her voice. Slightly menacing. Well, two could play at that game - but then, Cranepaw remembered Riverfleet's not-so-stable state. Maybe he could mess with her mind some other day - after Leafbare ended, so she wouldn't snap back. And get Cranepaw into a heap of trouble. "Well, sorta," he admitted. "But you don't want to answer them." He was confident in his assesment. It was not a question, like what he thought Riverfleet was expecting. Cranepaw glanced back to Riverfleet's face, his ice-blue eyes watching her silver ones. She was returning his gaze, her eyes tightened to the slightest degree. She was looking for something in his face. He let a little bit of his underlying mean streak show, in his expression. Ever so subtle, but there nonetheless. He wondered what she'd make of that - if Riverfleet even noticed. Ha.

And so, the lion fell in love with the lamb. What a stupid lamb. What a masochistic lion. "I'll answer them." Riverfleet confirmed, an innocent smile curving her lips. Riverfleet scrutinized his face, noticing the mean streak, and she honestly didn't care. But she needed to know what he was going to ask. And it seemed that was all that mattered. Or did it? She shrugged, in reply to her own suspicious thoughts. A yawn escaped her maw, revealing sharp white teeth. But it wasn't meant as a threat. Her muzzle snapped shut, making a harmless chomping sound. Light waves of hunger washed over her, and her stomach silently snarled in protest, for she hadn't eaten yet. [ooc[ Bahaha. .]

Dance to the beat Wave your hands together Come feel the heat forever and forever. "I'll answer them," Riverfleet told him, the corners of her lips twisting up into a charming smile. Cranepaw felt his heart beat slightly faster. He frowned for an instant, then wiped the expression away. While he wondered what to ask, Riverfleet yawned, her lips sliding back over her ivory teeth. The weak light glinted on them quickly. For an instant Riverfleet looked dangerous; like the wild warrior she truly was. Cranepaw liked dangerous games, and here was one to play. So, he quickly thought of a random question. "Well then," he said slyly, flicking his tail, "Hm... Why are your eyes that silver? I've never seen such... unusual eyes," he admitted. He was surprised to find his own mouth twisting in unfamliar ways, to mirror the smile now stretched across Riverfleet's black face. Black and white, Cranepaw randomly thought, Complete opposites. Although we seem to think alike. Wow, his thoughts were surprisingly random in Riverfleet's prescence.

[ooc- they should fall in love or something. ;D]
I can't hold you, and I can't leave you and sorting the reasons to leave you or hold you I find an intangible one to love you, I find many tangible ones to forgo you. As you won't change or let me forgo you, I shall give my heart a defence against you. So that half shall be ready to abhor you, the other ready to adore you. I can't Hold you, but I can't leave you, A poem by Juana Ines Del la Cruz.
" I don't know," Riverfleet admitted. She had suddenly felt something odd torwards the apprentice. What do you call it? Love. Yes. Love. Blood rushed into her face, proving that she liked him. I repeat, LIKED him. But her blush wasn't visible through her black pelt. "I like you." Riverfleet whispered, maybe just loud enough for Cranepaw to her. Plus, the way it exploded through her mouth, it sounded like she liked him, friend-wise. But she didn't mean it that way. Dizziness overcame her. What had she done? The very possible thought of Cranepaw turning around and leaving bit her, and almost destroyed her.

"But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." ~ Genesis 2:17 "I don't know," Riverfleet admitted. However, Cranepaw had already forgotten the question to prompt the answer. He was lost in the mesmerizing ways that Riverfleet's lips brushed together, the way her ivory teeth glinted in the weak light. His pulse raced. "I like you," Riverfleet whispered. Heat rushed through Cranepaw's veins. He felt like his skin was on fire. His heart seemed to leap out of his chest. What was this? This abnormal feeling. Cranepaw had never experienced anything like this... He had no word for it. The desire to protect Riverfleet, to be near her ravaged through him. He also felt other things - he smothered those. She was older than him, and a full-fledged warrior. But at the moment, Cranepaw couldn't have cared less. He involuntarily took a step closer to her. Her silver eyes, gazing, reeling him in like a fish on a hook. He took a deep breath, but he breathed in Riverfleet's lovely scent. It almost drove him mad to stay to far away, he longed to take just one more whiff of that irresistable scent. His brain seemed to unscramble itself suddenly, and Cranepaw had the perfect word for his current condition. In love. How could three little words bring out such a response in him? He decided he better reply. "And I you," he whispered, his heart acceleraing as it did so. Then he realized what a fool he was. She probably just meant it in a friendly way. His heart slowed, and the fire ebbed from his veins. He gave a nearly inaudible little sigh. Now his head was completely clear, although he still felt an urge to stand next to Riverfleet, to offer protection. He was nearly her equal in size, although he still had potential to grow a lot more. One day he would be bigger, and able to protect Rivefleet a lot better. He was going to be king, and he wanted Riverfleet for his queen.

r i v e r f l e e t Hold fast to dreams, for when dreams die, life is a broken winged bird who cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams go, life is a barren field frozen with snow. Langston Hughes
"And I like you," Cranepaw had said, making a smile creep onto Riverfleet's face. "C'mere." The black she-cat meowed, patting the ground next to her with her own tail. I'm in love... She realized. Then her own mind bombarded her with unanswerable questions.Riverfleet noticed the step he had taken torwards her, and she let his scent waft into her scent glands. Her heart pounded mostly because she was shocked-- no,flabbergasted. The faint sight of her heart pounding away could be seen if you looked hard enough. Now she had forgotten all about the snow, that had melted around her limbs, from the heat that "spilled" from her. One thing Riverfleet felt, was the icy water soaking the skin on her limbs, but honestly, she didn't care. She noticed Cranepaw mesmerizing her, and her body was still, exept for her heart, and her breathing. Right now, nothing mattered to her, except for Cranepaw, and her clan.

I ne'er was struck before that hour With love so sudden and so sweet, Her face it bloomed like a sweet flower And stole my heart away complete. A small smile crept across Riverfleet's face. Cranepaw mirrored her smile. "C'mere," Riverfleet meowed. Cranepaw could not have disobeyed that simple command, even if he had used all his might to resist her. Simply, Riverfleet was irresistable. Illogical as it seemed; for Cranepaw had barely spoken to her before today. But now, when she did speak, there was no way Cranepaw could ignore her. He took the final few steps towards her, hyerventilating now. He closed his ice-blue eyes, which had warmed; almost melted to a warmer colour. Darker, more like a clear Leafbare sky. He leaned towards Riverfleet, hyper-aware of how vulnerable he was. She had probably meant it in a friendly way... And if she clawed his face off... But then Cranepaw realized he couldn't care less. Ripping claws would feel like a StarClan warrior's kiss. Shrieks and hisses would sound like the softest birdsong and the trickling of a creek. Well, he was already in for it, so he decided to lean in closer. He opened his eyes, and rubbed his cheek against Riverfleet's. He hoped that, if she did not return his affections, she would merely take it in a friendly way... Although Cranepaw would have to be insanely lucky. But then again, she might be convinced by this display of affection which felt so strange, so abnormally wrong, to Cranepaw. This was somewhere he had not gone before. He had never felt the love, loyalty and respect he felt now. Not even for his very own Clan, nor his parents.

Not love's appeal to know, I never saw so sweet a face, As that I stood before. My heart has left it's dwelling place and can return no more.
A purr erupted from deep within her chest, meaning, she meant those 3 valuable words affection-wise. No, more like to show she loved him. Her lips creased into a smile once more, a sigh of delight interrupting her long string of purrs. Her tail flicked in the air, twisting in a question-mark of happiness, proving she liked what Cranepaw was currently doing. She soon thought of something random. Like, if Riverfleet was never born, who would he like? But the urge to say it never creeped into her.

You float like a feather In a beautiful world I wish I was special You're so very special Cranepaw held his breath, counting the heartbeats. Although his heart was thumping so erratically it was no count. Then, a purr erupted from Riverfleet's chest. His breath all came out in a rush, and before he knew it, a purr came rumbling out of his throat. This was so wrong - so wrong it was RIGHT. Riverfleet sighed, and from her current expression, it was a happy sigh, not one of regret or annoyance. Cranepaw's tail curled in happiness, and before he knew what he was doing, he wound his white tail around Riverfleet's black one. While they stood together, perfect opposites, Cranepaw ealized that if this were to continue, there were going to be serious consequences. Until he was a warrior, nobody should - or could -know. And even then, there was going to be a conflict later. Oh well - right now, the sky could have come falling down upon Cranepaw's head and he wouldn't have noticed. He was perfectly happy in his current state. But, after a while, he thought others might come past soon. "Maybe..." he began, breaking the rhythm, "We should move? Just in case somebody happens to come by. Although it's so cold and preyless I doubt it, but nonetheless..." He looked into Riverfleet's silver eyes.
