Rainpelt watched with amusement as Pantherpaw gave in to Breezefur's bathing. "I don't remember your father being so fussy with you, Breezefur. Wonder where you got it," she chuckled. A little weary from the play fight, Rainpelt laid upon the warm grass, stretching out luxuriously. She swiped her tongue over her speckled white paws, beginning to groom herself. "So how is training, Pantherpaw? Your mentor treating you alright?" she asked between licks. She tried to remember Pantherpaw's mentor, but her mind hit a road block. The face was there, just not the name. Mildly frustrated, she looked to Breezefur for help, but the fluffy she-cat was lost in her own world, her rapid tongue strokes seeming automatic. Rainpelt took a moment to admire the pair. They couldn't have been more different, with Breezefur's plush white-grey hair and Pantherpaw's ebony fur. Breezefur had a larger build, as well, but Rainpelt supposed it could be because Pantherpaw was fully grown yet. She imagined that day, when Pantherpaw became a warrior. For the first time, she almost wished that Blackclaw would be there to share the moment with them.

Ravenclaw padded into camp, the rest of the border patrol filling in behind him. The other warriors dispersed, murmuring to themselves as they settled down to eat. Ravenclaw longed to join them, but there were much more urgent matters to attend to. "I'm terribly sorry to interrupt, Cranefeather," Ravenclaw said as he padded up to the deputy, "But I'd like to know what's going on as well. ShadowClan's border markers were stronger than ever along the ThunderClan line, and they're starting to get bolder along the river as well. Not to mention Duskstar just went tearing past the patrol. He seemed awfully pleased about something," the senior warrior rattled, his tail flicking in agitation. He was getting too old for all these secrets. When Silverstar had been leader... but he shook the thoughts away. Silverstar wasn't leader anymore. She had died seasons ago, and it was time for him to act like it. Even if it means it's time to admit I'm not as youthful as I once was...

(Taking over for Wolfwind, since she was inactive)
Oceanstorm found himself in ThunderClan camp, by his den. A starry figure stood before him, a tabby with a long tail. "What news does StarClan have for ThunderClan?" he asked the figure. The tabby didn't move, and simply stare at Oceamstorm. "What news from StarClan?" Oceamstorm repeated, wondering if the starry figure was deaf. It appeared not, for he stood, his gaze never wavering from Oceamstorm. A chill ran down his spine as the starry warrior open his maw, letting out a long, horrid wail. The sound echoed around the camp, and one by one, voices joined it the caterwaul, making Oceamstorm cringe. "StarClan?" he whispered, horrified. The tabby stopped howling, and bit by bit, the moans and screams faded into the distance. "Leave, Oceanstorm. We appreciate your dedication to your Clan and your ancestors. We repay you with this warning. You will not survive long if you stay. Take Silverpaw with you, and run as far as you can. Keep the spirit of the Clans alive," a voice whispered to him.
And then he was awake in the cave, along with Skyfire and Thornpaw. Silverpaw was just starting to stir. Shaken, Oceamstorm tried to calm himself, and went to sit beside his apprentice.
(I am aware this post made absolutely no sense, but I figure I need an excuse for their disappearance)

Rainpelt rolled off Pantherpaw without complaint. "You put up a good fight," she purred, playfully batting at the apprentice's ears. She caught the determined gleam in Pantherpaw's eyes, and made a mental note to watch her back from now on. Blackclaw's daughter would not let the defeat go by easily. Breezefur leaped down from the rock, trotting over to the pair. "You two were perfect," she purred, echoing Rainpelt's praise. She turned to Pantherpaw, appraising her daughter. "Look what you did, Rainpelt! She's filthy!" she mewed, reaching forward to smother her daughter in cleaning licks. Rainpelt chuckled, backing away slowly. Pantherpaw was as rebellious as her father, and she couldn't imagine the apprentice tolerating being cleaned up like a kit. The sun was warm on her back, and the mock-battle had put some energy and good cheer back into her weary paws. With all the talk about ThunderClan and RiverClan, she had almost forgotten what it was like to take a break and just play around.

Ravenclaw turned his amber orbs on Flaxkit, startled by the kit's story. "That's no way to speak about our leader," he said softly. Though his words were meant to be stern, he couldn't seem to muster the firmness he needed. Instead, he could help but feel chilled as he realized Cranefeather certainly had the potential to be a truly evil opponent. But he's our deputy, and a fine one at that... he thought, trying to shake away the traitorous thoughts. But the notion would stay in his head, a shadow that haunted every corner. Turning his thoughts instead to Smokepaw,he mewed, "I see no reason why you or Larksong couldn't come." He nodded to Muskflower, half-apologizing for answering for her. "With such a large party, we'll bring back more prey than this forest has ever seen!" he said lightly, his gaze sweeping the clearing.

(Since Wolfwind isn't active anymore, Jasperpaw is gone. Since everyone is heading back to camp anyway, should I just close the thread?)

Into The Mist Times
June Issue
Site Information~Hello Everyone! This is the sixth Issue of ITM's Bi-Monthly News Letter! First off, I'd like to note that ITM Newsletters are now released once every two months, instead of the usual one. Please stop by every other month to see the new Issues! It will high light key events going on this month and next month so it will keep everyone up dated! Which is good right? Of course!
May's activity check was a moderate success, as a little more than half our members responded :3 Remember, activity is going to be huge this summer, so please keep up the good work! [/blockquote] Clan Information~RiverClan and ThunderClan have not launched a full scale attack yet, but border skirmishes are getting intense. WindClan and ShadowClan are trying to decipher StarClan's muddled adivce, and both are merely staying on the defensive side until a final decision is made.
ShadowClan is uncertain of what to do. ThunderClan and RiverClan have made no threat of war, and Skyfire's message from StarClan is a bit controversial. Meanwhile, the Clan has divided opinions on Warhawk's kits, due sometime in the next month.
WindClan is doing rather well. Apprentices are training long and hard with their mentors, prey is plentiful, and there haven't been any recent attacks on their territories. However, the threat of war hasn't completely left their minds.
RiverClan is living extremely well, especially since the river has thawed and is over-flowing with prey. They are a little wary of how low the river is, however. In other news, Riverstar's kits have been born. Welcome Lazuilkit, Cinderkit, Bloodkit, and Asterkit!
ThunderClan and RiverClan have been combined for some time now, and everyone is happy to have the river this Green-leaf. Duskstar continues to be absent from camp, mostly leaving Stumbleknot in charge. No one knows where the deranged tom is off to, but anyone would tell you its no place good. Threads to Watch~ The MEDICINE CAT meeting TC Auditions (Open to EVERYONE) The Rules may or may not be receiving an update this month. More news on this later. As always, Staff is to watch The Lair for discussions. ~Prone to updates~ Other Important News~ As stated earlier, Riverstar has finally had her kits! However, while she is stuck in the nursery with the kits, Duskstar seems to vanish for days on end, and Cranefeather is acting oddly. What does it mean...?
Also, if you were planning on adopting a cat from the adoption center or the abandoned bios, do that soon, as for the rest of the summer, I will slowly be deleting inactive or unfinished characters.

The fox fled, Shrubwhisker still clinging to it's back. It tried vainly to turn and snap at him, but the dark brown warrior hung on with all his might. He knew it was stupid, but he wanted to be certain that it did not return to ThunderClan territory. He couldn't how terrible it would be if the hungry fox somehow managed to get into camp, or even worse, into the nursery. The vile creature made one last attempt to stop and shake the screeching warrior lose. Shrubwhisker gave it a final warning nip before he jumped off, letting the fox run off its fear-induced adrenaline. Panting heavily and bleeding a bit, Shrubwhisker trudged back towards the Sunning Rocks. It was a painful walk, as it seemed like his entire skin seemed to sting and bite. He paused several times to stop and lick away the trickles of blood, but one scratch on his hind leg seemed to swell, the flesh looking red and irritated. At last, he reached the sun-warmed stones that they had originally come to hunt at. Tumblestep, Stumbleknot, and Jasperpaw were no where in site. "Tumblestep?" he called warily, wondered where his friends had gone.

Rainpelt grinned when she successfully flipped the black apprentice over. "Tag. Your it," she smirked, flicking her tail triumphantly. But Pantherpaw wasn't done yet. The young she-cat rocked back and kicked her paw away, scrambling to her feet. Rainpelt nodded, approving. "A decent move. But you still can't beat me!" she taunted. Pantherpaw charged, and Rainpelt quickly dropped to spring out of the way. Which worked to her advantage, as Pantherpaw leaped for her, landing awkwardly on her back. Quickly, the honey warrior rolled onto her back, squishing the apprentice. Breezefur hooted with laughter on the side-lines, her sides heaving for air. "Don't smother her!" she chuckled wickedly. "Looks whose talking," Rainpelt shot back, trying to keep her weight mostly on top of Pantherpaw. "I'm just big boned, mind you!" Breezefur countered.

Ravenclaw listened silently to the banter, for once. His whiskers twitched with amusement at the kit, though he tried his best to hide it when Toadstripe wondered up. Toadstripe was a good warrior, and though he was several moons older than the tom, he respected him almost like an elder, if not an equal. It was too bad Toadstripe was so... anti-social. He'd make an excellent leader- better than Riverstar, although Ravenclaw would never such a thing out loud. However, he didn't mind piping up when he caught Flaxkit's disrespectful comment. "Your mother may let you go anywhere, but that doesn't mean you should. Perhaps it would serve you better to be kind to your elders and prove you're mature enough to go hunting with the warriors," His words were stern, but his tone was gentle. He remembered back sassing the warriors when he was a kit, and he could hardly blame the tiny tom.
"Anyway, we need another warrior to come hunting with us. Perhaps if you're not needed elsewhere this morning, you could come with me and Muskflower?" Ravenclaw asked, momentarily ignoring Flaxkit to turn his attention to more pressing matters. Mentally, he had already decided to make it up to Flaxkit later by asking him to show him his fishing stance, and then showing him some other hunting stalks. Ravenclaw enjoyed kits and apprentices, and sometimes wondered why he never had any of his own. It wasn't too late, but it was certainly unlikely. Oh well. They probably would have gone off and done their own thing once they were warriors anyway, he thought with a slight shrug.

Skyfire followed Windblaze and the troop up the winding path to Mother Mouth. The moon slowly crept up in the sky, making Skyfire tense with every step. He longed to race in front of the others, to speak with StarClan about all that was on his mind. But he forced himself to stay calm, to keep his pawsteps even and steady. He was so focused that it startled him when he nearly tripped into the entrance to Mother Mouth. Turning to the medicine cats and their apprentices, he nodded before slipping inside. The cave glowed with an unearthly glow, the towering Moonstone in the middle alight with the moonlight it was named for. Taking a deep breath, Skyfire fanned out with the other medicine cats, a deep silence taking over as they filed in. Settling down on the cool rocky floor, Skyfire forced himself to relax before reaching forward and touching the Moonstone with his nose.
Instantly, Skyfire was beside the river. Glancing around, he realized with a start he was on the border between ThunderClan and RiverClan. He dropped his gaze down to the gushing water, waiting for someone to come speak to him. Questions buzzed through his mind, and he shifted restlessly, eager for answers. But there was nothing but the sound of the river flowing in front him, a bitter wind chilling him to his bones. In his uncharacteristic impatience, he batted at the water, flicking droplets into the air. To his shock, the droplets froze in the air, darkening to a deep crimson before falling back to the water below. The second they touched the surface, the crimson spread, like pools of blood, until the entire river was consumed, roaring as it whipped past. Skyfire backed away in horror. StarClan, what does this mean? He thought, terrified. Transfixed, he stared at the starry river of blood. Something drifted by, a flash of white in a sea of red. Certain that this was StarClan's sign to him, he whipped out his paw, fishing out the soft white object. Panting on the riverbank, Skyfire stared down at the crane feather at his paws. "Skyfire" a voice called softly. Skyfire whirled around, and a spotted gold she-cat padded toward him. "Spottedtail, what does this mean for ShadowClan?" Skyfire whispered. "This... this looks like a hopeless future." he sighed, waving his tail at the river. Around the pair, distant wails of pain and grief vibrated in the air. Spottedtail shook her head. "There is no way to avoid the bloodshed, but you can save many if you get ride of the parasite that is killing the Clans from the inside out." She paused, stepping in front of Skyfire so he looked her right in the eyes. Gently, she brushed his shoulder with her tail. "It is not an easy task. But we have sent help. Look for one who held life before she was born. She is the key to saving the Clans." With that, Spottedtail released Skyfire's gaze, turning to pad away. Skyfire stared at her helplessly, at loss for words, his questions and worries frozen on his tongue. "One last word of advice, Skyfire. ShadowClan cannot stand by itself much longer, not while the threat of war is present." and with that, the she-cat slipped away, disappearing into the forest. "Wait!" Skyfire called, finally finding his voice again. But it was too late; Spottedtail was gone, and he could already hear the others waking up.

Rainpelt growled as Pantherpaw slipped out of her grasp, although it was broken up by her chuckle. "You'll never beat me! the apprentice cried. Rainpelt rocked back, ready for Pantherpaw's return strike. "We'll see about that!" she taunted. Breezefur, watching with an amused gleam in her eyes, leaped up onto the rock to watch the mock fight. The movement caught Rainpelt's gaze, and she turned her head just in time to miss Pantherpaw's charge, and by consequence was knocked off her paws as the she-cat barreled into her. Rainpelt let out her breath in a huff, taken off guard. "You cheeky little-" she laughed, attempting to flip Pantherpaw onto her back. Breezefur watch, her tail flicking excitedly. "Get her, Pantherpaw! Take her down!" she hooted, earning herself a mocking glare from Rainpelt. "No fair!""What to you expect? She is my daughter!"

Ravenclaw grinned, all his dark earlier thoughts vanished from his mind. "Of course! I haven't been on a good hunt in ages; busy with the extra border patrols Cranefeather set up," he mewed cheerfully. "Perhaps we should wait for someone else to wake up too, though. With all the prey out and about right now, we could use another paw to bring it all back!" he chuckled, his eyes gleaming with the prospect of a good meal. He hoped Muskflower would head toward the river; it had been an entire season since RiverClan's alliance with ThunderClan, and he still didn't feel entirely comfortable hunting on their territory. Well, what used to be their territory. Duskstar and Riverstar insisted that the land belong to everyone, and the Clans scents had begun to mingle so as it seemed that way. But the borders were still there is the warrior's minds.
