Memoryleaf Memoryleaf stopped for a short while to be sure Snowpelt was behind him. He saw her ice blue eyes glinting in the underbrush, and moved on. He waved his tail to her every now and then so that she could find her way foward in the dim light. After all, he did know the territory better than she did. As they passed WindClan camp, he shuddered, once again feeling guilty for breaking the warrior code and venturing onto enemy territory. But Memoryleaf wasn't going back on his word to Snowpelt. They had skirted WindClan camp in complete silence. Each pawstep was as silent as a tiny vole being hunted. Memoryleaf felt himself going through the plan in his head, weighing all the possibilities. He and Snowpelt were more than decent fighters, but were they good enough to beat fierce, brutal ShadowClan warriors? This prospect gave Memoryleaf another shudder of anxiety. He wondered if Snowpelt was feeling the same way. He glanced back at her, trying to read the emotions in her sparkling eyes. Any sound would give them away, so Memoryleaf didn't do anything more than blink encouragingly at her. The acrid stench of the Thunderpath blew their way. His heart started pumping wildly, partly out of excitement. The other part was a feeling, a deep pang in his stomach, that warned him not to venture any further, but he did not halt. If he wanted Snowpelt to feel as strongly about him as he did about her, he would keep to his word. Though, there was one thing about which Memoryleaf was very uncertain. "Snowpelt," Memoryleaf mewed under his breath, "where do we go next?" A few more foxlengths ahead, and the Thunderpath, a vast expanse of gray rock, stretched in every direction.

Snowpelt kept right up with Memoryleaf, her whiskers twitching in anticipation. Indeed she wanted so baddly to see her brother, whom she hadn't seen in a year, just after finding him again. She trembled all over as she looked around and they trotted right past WindClan camp... Her home and her beloved Clan lay in there, oblivious to what these two were doing. Goodness she felt a pang of anxiety at going against them and the Warrior Code... And yet they weren't doing anything bad... Merely going to visit her brother...
Her tail lashed a bit, her blue eyes sparkling with mingled fear and intense joy. Joy at the prospect of seeing her brother, yes, but also joy at having Memoryleaf with her... She didn't know what it was about him... Honestly she hadn't had a whole lot of contact with him, but she remembered watching him idly from afar and wondering... She had always wanted to have her own family, to have little ones to raise and to love... Perhaps he was the cat to join with to do so... Of course she had to love him first, and honestly she felt that she might be growing to...
She met his gaze many times, though the closer they got to the border, and the dreaded Thunderpath, the more terrified the young she-cat got. But she would manage to hide it under her excitement, willing her paws to continue forward. And they listened to her, carrying her lithe form over the moors of the territory.
Memoryleaf and herself traveled swiftly, as only WindClan cats can, up until they came close to the Thunderpath. Once they reached it, she froze. She always did hate the Thunderpath... It absolutely terrified her... But she would come closer to it, glancing at Memoryleaf. "Well... First we have to get across this..." She indicated with her tail at the Thunderpath, her whiskers visibly trembling with fright.
(Sorry that took so long Flower! And sorry you had to make the board... Lol I got distracted the other day and never got to it...)

[ooc- That's alright! It happens ^^]
Memoryleaf looked down at his paws and shook his head with hopelessness. How could they possibly get across this, the Thunderpath, unscathed? It was the Thunderpath, for StarClan's sake! There was a reason Clan cats were cautioned not to come within 10 foxlengths of this great road. Yet he and Snowpelt both knew that the crossing the Thunderpath was inevitable if they were to journey to ShadowClan, and yet that hadn't stopped them. Why should they stop now? This was the worst of their trials, so if they could cross this without a problem, then avoiding a ShadowClan patrol should be easy. After all, StarClan are with us, aren't they? Memoryleaf thought. This gave him a little more self-assurance. Sure, StarClan had allowed that monster to hurt him all those moons ago, but that was because of his own carelessness. This time, he was alert and knew all too well of the dangers. Surely they would be safe. This time, he wouldn't second guess himself. And this time, he had a plan. Memoryleaf turned to Snowpelt, and ducked his head low into the underbrush that lay on their side of the Thunderpath. He leaned close to her, and murmured his plan. "I think, if we wait for a monster to come..." he trailed off with a shudder that he couldn't surpress for the life of him. It was clear she was having the same feelings, from the way her whiskers shook and her eyes flashed with panic. He caught a wave of her sweet scent, and calmed a little more, sure she was with him through thick and thin. "And as soon as it passes, we bolt for the other side. Monsters don't travel in packs, so we should be safe if we cross in its wake." This plan seemed like it should work. Now, all they had to do was wait. As if to answer Memoryleaf's thoughts, he heard growling somewhere far down on the Thunderpath. He tightened the muscles in his haunches and shoulders, prepared to spring as soon as the great beast passed from the opposite corner of his eye. He was concerned more about Snowpelt beside him than he was for himself, but he was sure she would be okay. She was WindClan, after all! They were the fastest of the fast, the swiftest of the swift! Not even a great rumbling monster could terrify them. He shook all his concerns away, and determination shone in his brown eyes.

Snowpelt trembled in terror as they stood so close to the Thunderpath. She watched as the monsters whizzed past, sending dust and wind past them, pulling at their fur and tails. She remembered crossing Thunderpath only once... That was when her best friend had been named Leader. She remembered crossing with her to recieve her 9 lives and Leader name. But she hadn't come near since then. But she knew they had to cross her if they were to see her beloved brother. So finally she glanced at Memoryleaf, stepping closer to the road, trembling at every step.
She looked to Memoryleaf as she heard him start to speak and felt him lean closer to her. She trembled, but listened intently to him, her tail snapping in frightened anticipation. She nodded slowly to him as she heard him speak of his plan, her whole frame quaking with fear. But she nodded silently as she heard his words. They made sense. The monsters only traveled in ones, sometimes twos... But never very many at all. So if they did what Memoryleaf said, they should be alright. It was, afterall, what she had done with her Clanmates so many moons ago.
She watched and waited, her paws poised, her whole form coiled and ready to spring forth as soon as one of the great monsters passed. She soon heard the growling of the oncoming monster as well, and prepared herself, looking back to Memoryleaf. Concern for him shone in her gentle blue eyes, but she believed in him. They were WindClan. They would survive this. It was not long before the monster came into view, thundering down the Thunderpath, it's bright red pelt gleaming in the sun. It soon whizzed by them and Snowpelt launched herself onto the hard surface, paws pounding, heart hammering, and eyes not looking back until she found her paws upon soft grass again upon the other side.
Once upon the other side, unscathed, she turned to watch for Memoryleaf, looking around until she caught sight of him. Had he made it before her? Was he behind or right beside her? She had to find him now and make sure he got across safely as well.

Memoryleaf saw Snowpelt dash across the Thunderpath, and he could feel his heart hammering along with hers. He breathed a sigh of relief that she had made it across safely. He wasn't all that concerned about himself. After all, he knew all warriors make a difference to their Clan - for the better or worse - but he was nothing spectacular or important. He was just Memoryleaf! He was sure no one cared if he died on this Thunderpath or not. Now Snowpelt, she was important to the Clan. She was lovely and sweet and generous and loyal. She was someone worth missing. Memoryleaf shook out all those negative thoughts from his mind, and followed exactly in Snowpelt's pawsteps across the Thunderpath. He was safe, as he had expected, because he could hear nothing coming from either side of the great road. For a single peaceful minute, the great treacherous Thunderpath was silent. But he knew the tranquility wouldn't last long, so he scurried away from it, but not before stopping to make sure Snowpelt was exactly step-for-step with him. Now they were on ShadowClan territory! The thought didn't make him shudder like he expected it would, though. And then he knew why. Memoryleaf's ears pricked at the sound of a yowl. It was Echostar, ShadowClan's leader, summoning the Clan for a meeting. "Snowpelt," he mewed hurriedly under his breath, "you can be sure no patrol will catch us, because all the ShadowClanners are gathered in their Clearing for the announcement of the new deputy!" He smirked, knowing that she didn't know that the new deputy was to be her brother. Well that worked out too perfectly! he thought. "Now, we only have to be worried about them spotting us. But that chance isn't likely because they most likely won't be on red alert about enemy cats approaching. They're far too proud to expect any attacks while they're all gathered together. So we need to find something to disguise our scent..." Memoryleaf trailed off in thought. As if to answer their needs, a thick clump of catnip presented itself.

Snowpelt watched over Memoryleaf as well. No matter what he thought, he was indeed worth missing, and the young she-cat was quickly finding that she would miss him deeply if anything happened to him. She watched anxiously as Memoryleaf darted across the Thunderpath hot on her paws, and made it safely across as well. She trembled all over for a moment, before pushing her nose gently into his shoulder and giving it a light nuzzle. "Well that wasn't so bad..." She breathed softly before drawing back and smiling shyly at him.
Her ears soon perked up as she heard the yowl somewhere off in the distance from Echostar... She was calling a meeting? Wonderful... All the cats would be at that then. This would be very much the opportune time to sneak in. Well she would perk her ears up, alert for any patrol that might be lingering, but nodded in response to Memoryleaf, darting away from the Thunderpath and looking around curiously.
Well it was not long before they spotted a patch of fresh catnip. Goodness this was indeed too perfect. She wasted no time leaping forward to roll in the catnip, getting the scent all over her to mask her own WindClan one. She looked to Memoryleaf as she got out of the way, shaking out her fur a bit as she awaited him to do the same. Sure enough, she would nod. And besides... They weren't about to attack... Snowpelt merely wanted to see her brother... Talk to him if she could... And yet if he was truly among his Clanmates, it would be nigh impossible to get him aside to talk with him... And yet perhaps not... She would have to see. But for now she was just fine being with Memoryleaf in this possibly dangerous situation.

He purred as Snowpelt pushed her nose into his ginger and white pelt. "No, it wasn't as scary as I thought it would be," Memoryleaf murmured as he glanced over his shoulder at the fearsome Thunderpath that he had made it safely across, despite his anxiety. Now he felt quite proud of himself and Snowpelt as well, and all traces of fear left his paws. Part of his reason for feeling so happy and blissful right now was because of the cat who stood beside him through it all, even when they were both shaking with fear. Memoryleaf watched as Snowpelt eagerly rolled in the catnip. He dove into it right after Snowpelt did, and soon the WindClan scent that would have surely given him away was temporarily gone. He sniffed at Snowpelt, and she smelled the same as he did. The smell of the catnip was alluring enough as it was, but he could pick out her individual scent even from the mask of catnip. How sweet she smelled... He could tell immediately that she had heard Echostar's summon, but she didn't feel quite as sure as he did that they wouldn't be caught. He would watch her back if she got afraid, and he was certain nothing bad would happen. Things would go according to the plan. Speaking of the plan... "Snowpelt," he murmured urgently, "you know what to do now, right? We sneak into ShadowClan camp, keep our scent downwind, and hide in the underbrush that surrounds the camp while the meeting goes on. We'll try to spot Sharpfang..." Memoryleaf trailed off. He knew that Snowpelt was unaware that her brother was to be named deputy, and he planned to surprise her. He knew exactly how to proceed to ShadowClan camp, but did Snowpelt have enough faith in him? Memoryleaf's heart pounded just thinking of her. His head spun with all the emotion that came to him when he thought of her. His only worry: that she didn't feel the same. But then again, would she be here if she didn't?
[ooc- so, now do we post in the ShadowClan Deputy ceremony thread?]
