Welcome!!
Heh~llo, y'all!
First off, I'd like to say thank you to Crane, for setting the RP school up; to you, for visiting my class, beginner or not, and to all of ITM, for more reasons than I can count! :D
Also, I'd like to note that I, Fishy, can be a lump of klutzy goofball. So, please excuse me with that fact if you notice any careless mistakes. (just ask Firefly about our training thread o.o)
Alright. Now we're done with that, let's move on to the real reason you're here, assuming so that you're here to take classes, of course.
Welcome, welcome, welcome to Fishy's Beginners Class! This is the place to improve your roleplaying skills, that is, if you're a beginner. So, let's start with that part, shall we?
Am I a...beginner?Well, that's what we're looking at right now. Take a peek at the following questions and answer them in your head:(add the number of your choice as you go along)
How long have you roleplayed?
1 - a year or more || 2 - between a month and a year || 3 less than a month
Do you consider your grammar/spelling good?
1 - yes, very || 2 - decent, I guess || 3 - no
Are you ever unsure about whether to place a comma, use an apostrophe, use 'their' or 'there', etc?
1 - nope || 2 - occasionally || 3 - often
On average, how long are your roleplaying posts? (doesn't need to be exact)
1 - 400+ || 2 - 200 to 399 || 3 - 1 to 199
How is your vocabulary?
1 - excellant || 2 - average || 3 - not so good
Do your roleplaying posts contain good imagery?
1 - sure thing || 2 - sometimes || 3 - usually/always not
Can you capture meaning in a roleplaying post?
1 - easily || 2 - if I try || 3 - not really
Alright. Let's see the results.
.::.
If you scored a 7 or under, then you are advanced. There is absolutely no need to be in this class!
If you scored a 8 to a 13 then you are intermediate. You may take this class if you want to, but your experience qualifies for the Intermediate Class!
If you scored a 14 or up, then you are a beginner!! You are right where you need to be!
.::.
Note that this quiz is made personally by yours truely and is not necessarily accurate as it asks for your personal opinion of your own ability. The other teachers, staff and I will bump you into the right place if we feel you're too advanced or belongs in a different class. No worries, though! This is not something that happens often. If you think you're at home where you are, it's all good.[/blockquote]
NOTE, note, note: the next portion is only assuming that you scored a beginner on the above quiz!!
So, I'm a beginner. Now what?
Awesome! Now you know where you are, the first thing you should know is obvious: don't be ashamed of it![/blockquote]
Being a beginner only means you're starting out. We all begin somewhere. After all, that's why it's called "begin-ner". Being a novice like you are means you have lots of room to improve, and trust me, take advantage of that! It's much easier to get things done as you work along than to neglect some and to cram it all in later! This will help you in language arts or writing classes, too. ;) Think of it as all a writing workshop.
Next, sign up! The form is right here. Once I take a look at it, you're ready to begin taking classes! Encourage some other beginner ITM members to come here, too. It's much more fun with a group of people in my opinion, at least.
...and that concludes the introduction!!
