Sabel Sabel padded absolutely silently through the ominous graveyard. She kept her tail low to the ground, her ears flattened in fear and perhaps a little hostility, and her scent downwind from any potential enemies. She knew this was a favorite haunt of vicious rogue cats and the occasional loner, and she had almost no reason for being there. Except that it was necessary to cross through the graveyard to reach her favorite hunting grounds and the place she felt more secure than anywhere else; a place most cats never went. It was a small but thick bunch of 3 large live oak trees that could conceal a cat very well in their huge branches and hanging moss, and the prey that hid amongst their roots and all throughout the trunks was plentiful. Sabel had quite a preference for being alone, but appreciated company if it presented itself nicely. Her paws treaded lightly on the slightly damp layer of pine needles that lay on the dewy grass more thickly in some places than others. An advantage of the graveyard: if one was careful enough, it was nearly impossible for one to be scented and found because the long-dead pine needles softened pawsteps very well, and the thick fog that shrouded the graveyard made it hard for scents to be found. However, as difficult as it was to be heard or spotted in this gloomy, misty place, one couldn't help feeling uneasy because it was so rare a cat came to the graveyard looking to make friends.

Stormi
For Stormi, today was a good day. She was still alive. She wasn't hungry. She hadn't met any cats. And the graveyard was an excellent source for herbs. Yes, it was a good day. Then scent of a rather unfriendly rogue slipped by her, at which point her day got a bit worse. She stuck her tail up straight in the air, so if the cat she had scented passed, they would know he meant well, and sped her pace a little. You're gonna get attacked, a small voice said. She hurried on and told the little voice to go jump in a lake.

Sabel Sabel was walking along, her mind as cloudy with thoughts as the graveyard was with fog, when the faint rustling of leaves disturbed her. The sound came from somewhere behind her, and though Sabel was not usually a hostile cat, the graveyard was home to many unfriendly creatures, and whoever's paws made that noise was probably not a friendly cat. Her instincts took over, and the fur all over her body bristled furiously. Sabel's fluffy ginger tail lashed back and forth with hostility, and she spun around, ready to face what ever enemy approached her out of the gloom. She couldn't surpress the ferile hiss that escaped her bared teeth. Her slate blue eyes flashed all around, searching for the cat who had made the leaves rustle, and presented a threat to Sabel. It was funny - well, not funny, but strange - how when a cat was in danger, adrenaline pumped through your veins and heightened all your senses. Sabel found her vision was sharpened and her ears could pick up the slightest breeze. The enemy rogue was fast approaching. Sabel could hear the quickening pace of the cat's paws and their frantically beating heart. She crouched and tensed her haunches to spring.

Stormi
Stormi burst out of the bush-- and ended up nose-to nose with the other rogue. "WHOAH!!!" she panted. "Uh.....Hi?" Stormi knew this other cat would not want to hear what she had to say. So when the cat sprung, she jumped to the side. "What is wrong with you?!" she yowled. "I don't want to fight!"
OCC: There's not much to have Stormi do, if I'm gonna avoid GMing or whatnot.

Sabel Sabel gasped as she found herself nose-to-nose with the unfamiliar rogue that must have rustled the leaves. The she-cat yelped in surprise when Sabel involuntarily sprung. It was just her instinct - uncontrollable. From the sound of things, this rogue did not want to fight, and she seemed friendly enough. Sabel relaxed her tense body and bristled fur so she didn't appear hostile and threatening to this new cat, who seemed to be much older and larger than her. Sabel's first impression of this cat was not a pleasant one. Sabel eyed the rippling muscles beneath the rogue's white and tiger-striped pelt and shuddered. One of her eyes was green, and the other... well, there was no other eye. A long scar revealed how that eye had been lost. One of her ears was split open, and the she-cat's pelt was speckled with scars. It was clear this was not one that Sabel should pick a fight with, so she decided to be on her best behavior. And that meant she should lose the hostility. Sabel's whiskers twitched with chagrin. "I'm sorry," she said hesitantly, dipping her head in apology. "I thought... well, you know, that you were an enemy rogue. I was just... preparing myself for attack. You can understand that, right?" Sabel dipped her head once more, thoroughly illustrating her sincere apologetic manner. She turned her head abruptly behind her, ears twitching all around, to see if she could find any other threats. Her search came up empty. So Sabel turned her attention back to this rogue. "So, what is your name, and what brings you to the graveyard?" Sabel asked, this time taking genuine interest in the large she-cat that stood before her.

Stormi "I understand...and for my sake, don't look so scared. I'm not vicious," Stormi meowed. "My name is Stormi. I come here every now and then to find herbs." Stormi noted the other rogue's ears twitching wildly. "Don't be so paranoid. Unless the bushes are planning to eat us, we're fine."Stormi blinked at the new cat. "What's your name?"

Sabel Sabel almost bristled at this rogue she-cat. Who is she to tell me not to be wary of my surroundings? As big as she is, she doesn't have any other enemies to worry about! she thought angrily. But Sabel warned herself against bristling and showing her anger. She should keep the peace. She was relieved that this rogue declared herself harmless, but Sabel would still be on her guard. It couldn't hurt to be wary in a place such as the graveyard. "My name is Sabel," she answered. Suddenly, something Stormi had said caught her attention. "What do you need herbs for, and what kinds do you seek here in the graveyard?" Sabel asked, and cocked her head to the side in interest. She glanced around at the stone figures rising from the dew-covered grass and leaves. Around a few of the stones she saw the strange, small flowers, odd leaves, and tiny stems of many different kinds of herbs, none of which Sabel knew by name or by what healing powers they had. To the extent of Sabel's knowledge, only the Clan cats of the forest knew herbs. Each Clan had a cat with the position of Medicine Cat. That cat's job was to heal their Clanmates, and these wise cats knew every herb and every sickness each herb could be used to cure. Sabel found herself envying these cats and their plethora of healing expertise. If Sabel every grew ill, there was nothing she could do to stop the sickness from possibly taking her life. So Sabel figured she would take advantage of this opportunity to learn a little bit about herbs from Stormi.

OCC: Forget the Name thing. I think I know what cat I'm using. xD
Stormi sat down. "I don't like to see cats hurt. I have a cave a little ways from here where I store my herbs. I've saved hundreds of cats from dying and in doing so earned the respect of the Clans..." Stormi meowed. "They're probably a little scared of me, though." Stormi couldn't help noticing a nice patch of cobwebs behind Sabel. She got up and inspected the web carefully, making sure no spider were on the web before wrapping it around her paw. "Don't let my nature fool you," She mewed, "When I fight I may not get out of it without any wounds, but I get out of it with fewer than any other cats."

Sabel Sabel almost ignored Stormi's words about fighting and scars. Her ability to recognize and use herbs correctly was much more fascinating. Sabel's slate blue eyes followed Stormi's large figure as she padded gingerly over to where she had spotted a spider web. Stormi inspected the web carefully, Sabel assumed to make sure no spiders occupied it, and then wrapped it around her paw. Everything Stormi did sparked Sabel's interest. She felt questions bouncing around in her mind. How did the cobweb help? It wasn't an herb, was it? Did it have some medicinal value? Why did Stormi wrap it around her paw? Why, why, why? Instead of firing all her questions at Stormi and making a nuisance of herself, Sabel's eyes shone with curiosity. "Stormi, could you teach me some of the herbs you know?" she asked politely, trying and failing to disguise the longing in her tone. She wanted desperately to go to Stormi's cave and see her wealth of herbs. Sabel wanted to know all about herbs and what their uses were. She wanted to be able to recognize an herb just by its scent. Sabel thought she had never wanted anything so much in her life.

Stormi
"Depends," Stormi meowed, not looking up from her work. "I might." Stormi's tail twitched as she searched the surrounding plant growth. She found just what she was looking for naerby: Marigold. "Marigold," She mewed while she nipped off some stalks. "Good for infections." When she found it and had thought it through, she sat in front of Sabel. "What I want to know from you is what you would use them for," She meowed. [/center]
