Pebbletail trotted out of his den, and took a fish from the fresh-kill pile. He plopped down, ready to sink his fangs into the limp fish. As he took the first bite, the scales slid down his throat like slime. He shivered, fish just weren't as good as they once were. He shrugged, and finished his meal. Lately, there had been such little of everything, Pebbletail had been having a hard time finding all the herbs necessary for the up-coming season. Catmint, especially was coming difficult to find. Plenty of Death Berries, though. He glanced over his shoulder, looking into his den. Pebbletail was the only cat in Camp who knew where Pebbletail kept the Death Berries. Safe and well hidden, of course.

Auramoon padded into camp, a plump squirrel hanging from her jaws. She'd been luck to have caught it, but it was more mouse brained then... a mouse! She knew Riverclanners didn't like squirrels, but she put it in the pile anyway and then lifted her ears, checking the scent to see who was in camp. "Pebbletail!" She mewed happily, walking over to the medicine cat. She loved talking with the medicine cats. The blind she-cat sat down and wrapped her tail around her paws, and smiled at him, hoping she was looking in the right direction. "How are you today? Need any help?" She asked cheerily, her mood happy because of the squirrel. She started a little bit when a flake of snow fell onto her nose. "Leaf-bare already?" She asked worriedly.

Pebbletail sighed. "Yes, Leaf-Bare is well on its way, and I need to collect all the herbs I can." The white-and-black tom stared into Auramoon's eyes. He was curious how a blind she-cat could hunt and fight. So, he asked. "Auramoon, how do you hunt and fight with no sight?" Pebbletail asked casually. Unlike many of the other cats of Riverclan, Auramoon was, interesting. The Riverclan Medicine Cat flicked his tail, curious of her answer.

Auramoon flicked her ears curiously and smiled. "My ears and my nose are the only eyes I need. When I was an apprentice, my mentor made me train with my eyes closed and in the pitch darkness of the new moon. Being unable to see doesn't hinder me, I feel more at home, trully." She smiled, and then flicked her tail for no reason. "I was blinded by a badger when i was 13 moons old, you know. A friend of mine, a Shadowclan she cat, tracked down that badger and killed it because of what it did to me. Who ever thought Shadowclanners had hearts?" She joked, purring out of amusement. Then she twitched her ears as Pebbletail again. Do you need any help finding herds? I have a very good sense of smell." She offered, hoping he'd say yes. She'd wanted to be a medicine cat at one time, but there was already a medicine cat apprentice at the time she was an apprentice.

Pebbletail seemed surprised at this offer, but not by the answer. "Eh, some Shadowclan cats do." he said warmly. The Riverclan Medicine Cat was trying to decide weather to accept Auramoon's offer. He was also considering other things as well. Fact was, Pebbletail was in need of an apprentice, he was much older than most of the Medicine Cats, and still no apprentice. Pebbletail shook his head, and returned from his dazing. "Oh yes, of course Auramoon." he mewed. He smiled, and started to head towards the Riverclan exit. "Come, lets go." Pebbletail added.

Auramoon smiled and skipped after Pebbletail, making sure her pelt was touching his, so she knew where he was. The snow muffled their steps and it was Hard for Auramoon to keep track of his steps. "So, do you enjoy being a medicine cat?" She asked, her step skipping happily. She hadn't been out of camp with another cat in a long time. Not many talk to her anymore.

Even if Auramoon's pelt touching his made Pebbletail uncomfortable, he said nothing. The warmth in her voice could melt snow, it was too bad she was a Warrior. She could be a lovely Medicine Cat, if she were one anyways. Pebbletail shrugged a bit, but went on anyways. "Alright, we are looking for a plant called Catmint, do you know where it grows?" he prompted. Auramoon was a bright cat, and Pebbletail wondered what was going on through the white she-cat's head. What was she thinking of?

Cranefeather padded into camp, his mind still whirling with memories of what'd just happened. That tom - he was sure Riverstar would know his name. And he had to tell her what the ThunderClanner had proposed. The offer almost seemed to good to be true, but Cranefeather had the tom's iron-clad promise. And, if he betrayed Cranefeather... Well, e could kiss goodbye to his precious kit. He was the one who had offered, after all. The young deputy was so distracted that he nearly walked into Auramoon and Pebbletail, who must have been going to look for herbs. He shoved away the uncertainty and let a bright expression light up his face. "Hello, you two! Out for a stroll?" he asked politely. He looked at Auramoon's pelt, touching Pebbletail's. Well, he supposed Auramoon was trying not to get lost. Not that he would mind if she did. There was something about her that creeped him out. Whether it was her blindness which made him feel awkward, or that black feeling of a bad premonition, Cranefeather just did not like Auramoon. Pebbletail, on the other hand, was great. Warm and everything like that, but he was, in Cranefeather's opinion, still pretty tough. You had to be, to be a Medicine cat. Weak ones whoquailed atthe sight of blood irritated him to no end

Pebbletail nodded. "Yes, Auramoon was just coming out to help me find some herbs. She claims she has a good sense of smell." he replied. The black-and-white tom eyed the young deputy with a suspicious look. He smelled of Thunderclan and squirrels and such. But, he said nothing. It wasn't right to ask him, for it was not Pebbletail's business. "Now, Auramoon and I should be going." He added. "Come, Auramoon. This way towards the old, abandoned two-leg house." Pebbletail said cheekily. He really liked the young she-cat. Despite her disability, she was still sparkly and full of life.

Cranefeather thought he saw a flicker of suspicion flutter across Pebbletail's face, but it was going before he could even blink. He was just jittery after the meeting with the tom. Now, he had to go speak with Riverstar. "Have fun," he purred politely, before turning tail and padding towards Riverstar's den. Wait. He was going to get something to eat first. He picked up a fish and turned to enter Riverstar's den.
[And so Craneh leaves ^^]

Morningpaw trotted out of the apprentices den, wondering where Ravenclaw was. The golden tabby she-cat blinked her blue eyes up at the afternoon sun. She yawned, for Morningpaw had stayed up half of the night in attempt to prefect her fighting technique. She twitched her whiskers in annoyance. Where was her mentor?
