Marshflight
Marshflight hadn’t got a chance to speak to the black tom recently; what with the loner appearing and reinforcing the clan boundaries and all afterwards. But now, as the sun had begun to sink towards the bleeding horizon he finally had time to speak to Sharpstar alone; he had a number of things to discus with him, as many things had been put off the past moon. Leaving his dinner till after the conversation the molted tom determinedly walked up to the stump, its shape becoming fuzzy as the sun lost its rays to the growing darkness. He really didn’t need another cat to switch his course of direction, he didn’t need to be sidetracked once again; for as each day passed the threat of ThunderClan attacking became ever greater…And on the subject of such a thing Marshflight’s offer of a battle strategy, though somewhat low others might think wouldn’t work if that happened.
His pawsteps growing quicker as the sun continued to fall brought him to the den entrance in a matter of moments; he really didn’t want to come later and disturb the resting leader when his wounds still needed to heal. Though he felt this meeting between them needed to be held urgently he hesitated before calling out, ever wondering what the leader’s; his growing friend’s reactions would hold for him. Giving himself a slight shake as to rid himself of these lingering thoughts he called out quietly, hoping that Sharpstar would grant him entrance as he waited upon the tom’s words patiently.

Sharpstar was, indeed, in his den. After talking with the loner and making the decision of how she was to be handled, and making certain that precautions were being taken to be sure their beloved Clan was safe and secure, the large Leader was exhausted. He had been exhausted to start with, but now he had pushed himself a bit too far. But a little rest would get him right back on his paws in prime condition. And this is exactly what he was doing at this present moment. The young leader lay in silence in his den, thinking about all that needed to happen and how he would handle everything. Here he was... Thrust into leadership by Echostar, and then gone off on a random journey that had seemed so fruitless... And yet now here he was, back with his Clan, who needed him to lead them well through these dark days.
But then he would hear the welcomed sound of his Deputy and friend... His head would raise, ears perking as he heard his approaching pawsteps and then meowed words. He would lift his hulking form to it's paws, and padding toward the entrance before thinking better of standing too long for now. He needed to conserve his energy to get back his strength as rapidly as possible. "Marshflight... Is everything in order? The entrance safe and guarded?" He figured, at this point, there should be some cat on guard at the entrance at all times, he had relayed this to Marshflight, and so he had no doubt it had been set into motion, and yet he still wished to check in with his Deputy and see. And yet once he would receive his answer, he would merely nod and go quiet, figuring that was not why Marshflight had come to see him.

Marshflight
As Marshflight was let in he felt a sudden rush of guilt; Sharpstar looked exhausted, and in no state at the time to go on talking about battle strategies and what not. But the tom wasn’t about to have interrupted his leader for nothing, and so dipping his head shortly in respect he meowed a ‘yes’ to the tom’s question; knowing that Stormcry would have set another in his place if he had left the post. He settled himself down in a crouch, hoping that Sharpstar would follow suit as his tail wrapped about his paws, momentarily contemplating what subject he should first bring up.
“I assume you saw Warhawk’s actions during the gathering.” His voice was strangely loud in the sudden silence of approaching night, his ears flicking the sudden unease from his rolling coat; eyes catching Sharpstar’s momentarily before continuing. “I feel for the other leader’s safety; and in turn her own she should keep herself from the gatherings until all this comes to an end. I simply wanted to notify you of this change before the next full moon came.”
The molted tom waited for his reply before continuing, brightening a little as what news came next involved something that always lightened a clan’s mood. “Apart from that Nightpaw is fully ready to become a warrior; something that because of the present predicaments has been long overdue.” He hoped he wasn’t sounding to forward for the idea, though he suspected Sharpstar wouldn’t mind; Nightpaw was his daughter after all and he had more then prepared her for clan life before she was apprenticed to himself. The tom had hardly needed to teach her anything, simply practice with her for battle moves and such; though now a days she had already been accepted as a warrior and Marshflight knew that she had been waiting patiently and for far to long to that which she deserved.
He remained quiet after this, unwilling to bring up the subject of his previous thoughts at this time; rather not wanting to bombard the no doubt already strained Sharpstar with decisions and worries that most likely already plagued his mind. He did his best to remember that although he himself was a floundering fry to such a position as deputy he knew Sharpstar hadn’t all the time most leaders had before receiving their names and taking on the responsibility of leading a clan. They were both inexperienced…But working through it.

Sharpstar would nod slightly to Marshflight as he affirmed his question, and then would watch as Marshflight settled himself. Not long after he did that, the large Leader would follow suit, lowering his large form into a more crouched position, to listen to what his beloved Deputy and friend had to say. He couldn't help but feel the exhaustion pulling at his paws, and yet he would not let that feeling pass his eyes, even if he couldn't hide all of it from his Deputy, he didn't want him to feel he couldn't come to him with the issues of the Clan. It was his duty to serve the Clan... And his honor.
His ears would flicker, before his eyes darkened a little bit when he heard Marshflight speak of Warhawk's actions, and he would nod slightly to him. "Always was such a high spirited one..." He shook his head a little bit, but nodded, a sign of admiration also there, but he would then nod again as Marshflight offered his solution. "I agree... But she is a proud Warrior... When it comes time for a Gathering, I believe we should appoint her as head Guard to the camp. It will give her something to do and hopefully help her to not feel as if she were simply being shunned from the Gatherings..."
He nodded slightly, and then watched Marshflight's countenance light up a bit as he spoke of his beloved daughter, Nightpaw. He would nod slowly. He also knew that Nightpaw very well deserved to receive her Warrior name. She had done so admirably, both in the face of the Twolegs and here under Marshflight's watchfull eye... And yet... Sharpstar didn't miss the gleam in Marshflight's eye as he spoke of his daughter, and he would tilt his head, but leave his question unasked for the time being, before nodding again. "I believe another deserves a Warrior name and has been put to the side too long... You know the other Loner that found her way to us... Leiko... I have seen how she is in the Clan and I believe she deserves a true place here... The other one... Dusk... I don't feel she's been here long enough quite yet to earn her place with us... But she shall be watched... And perhaps one day she too shall join the ranks. What do you say?" Once he received a yes or no from Marshflight on Leiko, he would nod again, thinking. "The ceremony will be held tomorrow evening."

Marshflight
Sharpstar seemed content with Marshflight’s suggestions; and as he offered alternative methods of proceeding with them the molted tom nodded, rather not wishing to agree with words as Sharpstar continued; mentioning someone by the name of Leiko. Marshflight had known of this previous loner, though she had been keeping on a low profile these days. The tom could still clearly remember his encounter with two-she cats that had turned into an all out battle between the three of them; though Marshflight had merely been trying to protect the loner who the she-cat Infectedsound had saw fit to attack; unknowing of her place in the clan at the time. Thankfully they both had stayed away from one another, and the tom hadn’t noticed either of them taking part in private battles since then.
At Sharpstar’s words of accepting the loner into their ranks he nodded; agreeing with his wishes, although he couldn’t suppress the thrill of knowing Nightpaw would finally become a warrior; and that he would be the one to tell her the good news! She defiantly deserved the ceremony; she had for a long while. As the black tom finished speaking though Marshflight hesitated; knowing that he should leave his leader in peace for the night but the urgency that tugged at his pelt forced him to quietly meow.
“About ThunderClan Sharpstar…Are we going to let them start the battle?” His heart pounded in his chest at this question; partly because of Sharpstar’s reaction and also because of his own distaste of what he was to bring up to the tom before him. His paws shifted his large form momentarily, unwilling to meet the ShadowClan leader's gaze with his own at this moment.

Sharpstar would nod slightly as Marshflight seemed to agree with his additions, and everything to Marshflight's ideas. He would glance off toward the entrance of the cave. Night had come but he wouldn't be sleeping any time soon. He was thinking of how strong and wonderful his Clan was, and yet... It didn't seem enough yet... He nodded as he thought of Leiko gaining her place among their Clan and that would help to have another full Warrior in the ranks... But would it be enough to save them from ThunderClan's bloodthirsty plans... He sighed inwardly, but would show nothing on the outside of his uncertainties.
He thought he felt the talk drawing to a close in his certain comment about when the ceremony would be. He knew Marshflight would be eager to let Nightpaw know, and he himself would let Leiko know... But that was for tomorrow for him... Now, it seemed Sharpstar was incorrect in his thought that this was done with... As Marshflight brought up an upsetting topic. One on which Sharpstar himself was uncertain.
Sharpstar had not run into something like this yet in his time... And so he had no idea how to deal with it. But he would dip his head somewhat as he heard Marshflight's question. "I don't know yet Marshflight... Our Clan is not strong enough to take on ThunderClan and RiverClan... They are allied now... And I don't want unneeded bloodshed... For now we need to set to making our territory safe and secure... We will wait until the next Gathering... We will gather our strength. Duskstar said he would wait until the next Gathering for our answer... But if he doesn't, we will be ready for an attack... We must be ever vigillant... More patrols, keeping an ear and eye out when hunting... Always ready, always alert... But we shall not strike first. At least not yet..." He would look to Marshflight, his words holding some slight wiggle room for argument... But Sharpstar knew his Clan... They weren't fit enough to launch an attack on ThunderClan and RiverClan both. "We should talk with WindClan... I don't want to but it may take us allying with them for a time..." His words didn't seem very... Certain. He wanted so baddly to ally with WindClan... To make certain his sister was alright... But he couldn't let that out in his Clan... He just couldn't... But for now he would wait for Marshflight's reactions and ideas.
