This is for school. A Paper I'm doing... XD
Yellow eyes watched from a shadowed bush that was overlapping a small cluster of steps that lead up to two doors. They blinked once, an odd look of hostility radiating from them. Emerging from the darkness, a calico female with bright yellow eyes appeared, tail twitching in obvious anxiety. She had deep, exotically shaped eyes, seeming to almost burrow into your flesh as she watched you. Letting out a deep sigh of defeat, she leapt onto the nearest porch step, curling up and quickly closing her eyes.
Sadly, before she could get even a moments rest, a pitch black female, yellow eyes as bright as the sun, padded up to the cat, licking her ear. “Kitty…Kitty, get up! Come on, I’m hungry!” Hissing in annoyance, the calico cat, Kitty, flattened her ears and eyed her sharply. “Black Angel, you lazy fool, why don’t you get something yourself for once?” Flinching back a few paces, Black Angel frowned in a pathetic manner. “Come on, Kitty… You know I’m no good at hunting. My black fur stands out in the yellowish grass! You blend better-” “Excuses, like always!” Kitty snapped, missing a horrified Black Angel by less than an inch. The colored female sprung up, turning her back to her bewildered friend. “What bit your tail this morning? I was just asking if-” Then it struck her. “Wait…. your girl is leaving again today, isn’t she?”
Kitty’s ears flicked up, signaling that she was now paying attention. After she failed to reply quickly enough, Black Angel began to laugh. “Oh, come on! Is that really it? You know she always comes back!” Kitty turned her head, a look of confused sorrow on her face. “I know she does, but…..something doesn’t feel right.” Suddenly becoming concerned with her older friend’s feelings, the black cat sighed. “Listen. Everything is fine. Everything has been going as normal, so why would that change now? Just look at you! You are a mess, Kitty.” Kitty nodded, shaking her thoughts away. “I believe you to be right, Black Angel.” Giggling, the younger cat purred, “Good!”
Kitty stiffened as the door opened. Out of it scrambled a girl in a blue jacket. She had dark blue eyes, and dark blonde hair that you could almost call brown. Over her shoulder dangled the bag that held all of her belongings. This was Kitty’s girl. Dropping her bag, the girl sat on the highest step, waving her finger for Kitty to come closer. She obeyed for once, curling up on her lap. Laughing happily in amusement, she kissed her head, petting her slowly. Kitty purred, rubbing up against her. What was actually maybe a half an hour felt like only moments as a large silver van pulled up. Gazing down at the cat, Kitty couldn’t understand they way she spoke, but knew what she had said. Goodbye.
She cast the cat one last longing glance before getting into the car, taking off down the highway of which ran directly beside the house. Kitty had this horrible feeling of loss in the pit of her stomach, but she didn’t know what it was. “Kitty!” Black Angel mewed, racing up to her. “Is she gone yet?” Kitty Nodded, a distant look glazed over her features. “Come on…let’s get you something to eat.” Black Angel nodded in agreement, darting into the lead. As Kitty followed, she looked down at her paws, mumbling, “She’ll come back. I know she will.”
Little did Kitty know, she wouldn’t see her again. That was the last time April, her girl, came to visit her mother there. Soon after, her mother moved away as well, leaving Kitty, Black Angel and a few other cats alone. Kitty has probably moved on by now, only thinking of April every once in awhile, like on those cold rainy nights when April would usually sneak her into the house to keep her warm. Or on those warm, Sunny days when she would lay on the her lap while she sat on the porch, gently stroking her fur. Those days were gone, and would never return again, but the memories were still there to comfort her when times were hard, and that was what really mattered.
Opinions? XD
