It was a beautiful day... At least the weather was nice outside. But inside a certain pretty snowy she-cat a storm was raging. She was terrified of the days to come. It was a few days before the Gathering and a few days before the battle that she had been pre-warned about. There was hope... She would be there, alongside Ravenscar, to aid her brother and his Clan in the attack from the other Clans. It was all wrong! This shouldn't be happening.
Today she had chosen to take Loudpaw out for patrol and training. She wanted to check on the ShadowClan border at Fourtrees... To see if she could catch any hint of ThunderClan and RiverClan where they should not be... But for now she was trotting through the Plains with him at her side. She seemed distant... Far off... Not at all the normal Snowpelt everyone knew and seemed to love. Sure Snowpelt was often somewhat aloof, but not this distant... Not with Loudpaw... Not with his training... But she was terrified.
She looked over at the younger cat and fought a smile into place. "Today I thought we'd take a bit of a patrol, check out everything. What with ThunderClan and RiverClan's threats we have to be constantly alert to our surroundings." She nodded as she tried to be the good teacher that she usually was. Trying to work through her fear.

*Loudpaw*
The young brown tom looked at the ground while he walked beside his mentor. It had been some days since Bearpaw's death. Loudpaw's heart was broken and he missed his brother a whole lot. It was very lonely with Bearpaw gone. Once light blue eyes turn dull looked to the sky and wondered how his brother was doing. He hoped that Bearpaw was happily in StarClan's grace. Loudpaw looked at Snowpelt as she was trying to smile for him and be a good teacher. He was greatful for her happy personilty and her good hearted soul "How do you..................think Bearpaw is doing Snowpelt" Loudpaw asked with a tear falling from his bright blue eyes.
Loudpaw missed his brother, but knew in some way that he was not in pain where ever he was. He then looked at what was around him and relized that they were in the Yellow Plains "Why are we here Snowpelt" he whispered. Loudpaw who was normally was loud, was quite at time's since the death of his only brother. Loudpaw was the only other kit beside his brother born to his litter. There were time's Loudpaw wished he could go with his brother, they had after all promised each other to dead together. SO that nither one would have to die alone. He looked at Snowpelt with wet blue eyes "I want my brother back Snowpelt" he said before sitting on the ground.

Snowpelt glanced to the side as she saw her Apprentice walking with such heaviness in his paws. Her gaze softened considerably. She knew what had happened to his brother. It couldn't be easy for him. She thought of her own brother and the battles to come, shivering in uncertainty. She couldn't stand to lose him. Sure enough he was a bit more durable than Bearpaw had been... But still... Losing him would be tragic to the young she-cat.
Ears would perk up as she listened to the young cat's question, seeing the tear fall. She moved closer to her Apprentice, stopping her walk and lower her head to nuzzle his shoulder gently in comfort. "I think he is doing well Loudpaw... I believe he is up there right now, watching you... He is with StarClan and I bet they are teaching him to hunt and patrol just as I am teaching you..." She nodded and smiled, a compassion in her eyes. She had something else to do than wallow in her own nerves and upset.
Snowpelt smiled as Loudpaw soon asked, too, of why they were where they were. She casted a glance around the plains and nodded. "I thought we would do a quick patrol today. Then maybe head on over to The Old Tree and get some fighting practice in, if you're up for that." She nodded. "And if we happen to find any prey on the way, more power to us." She tried to keep her voice light, though heaviness kept creeping into her tone.
Snowpelt would stop her paws from walking, though they longed to move quickly to Fourtrees to check ShadowClan's territory for any intruders on their side. But she soon saw Loudpaw stay where he was and even sit, his eyes wet with sadness. Her heart went out to the Apprentice and she would double back and seat herself nearby, nodding just a little. "I know Loudpaw... I know you do... But we cannot question the motives of StarClan... It was his time to join their ranks... And one day you too will join them. But not before you become a wonderful Warrior and aid your Clan to the best of your ability..." She sighed gently and yet a sly look came over her gaze. "Think of the stories you'll be able to tell him when you next see him..."
She needed to get this Apprentice's mind off his brother... Off his sadness... So, the she-cat would suddenly launch herself at her Apprentice, bowling him over with a bulk that was hardly bigger than his, and pinning him on his back, licking his nose a few times in amusement. "Might want to leave that one out." She grinned and batted his ears a few times before moving off and letting him up, her tail snapping in amusement.
