kitetail Evening was his favourite time of day with its gentle, murmuring breezes that ruffled his thin brown fur as they swept by over the moor. The ground was cool under his paws, rubbing his pads as the tom took brisk steps. The air, though hot and fresh in the day with the aromas of newleaf, was cooling rapdily as dusk arrived. All around him, the young warrior could hear the whining of mosquitoes as they carried about their daily task - drink blood. Sometimes the tom wished that his life was that easy. He wanted a set routine that he could follow with ease. But for Kitetail, everything seemed to be a challenge. It had taken him so much work to finally recieve his warrior name. He had felt Spicestar leap down to congradulate him, but he hadn't seen the warmth in her eyes or the pride in those of his Clanmates.
All Kitetail seemed to ever be able to show was anger in his milky blue optics as he narrowed them at nearly every cat that passed his way. As the lithe tom padded down towards the hidden pond, feeling the inlicantion of the ground beneath his worn paws, he wondered what it was like to be free of burden. But it seemed as though he was always being treated differently and it weighed on his shoulders like a badger pressing him into the dirt and holding him prisoner there. A spark of anger, so common now, flared in him but the brown tabby pushed it down as he dipped his forepaws in the water. He flicked his tail far more furiously than was nessecary at a passing mosquito, hoping to take out his seemingly endless anger on some vulnerable creature. He had come out here with the hope of catching a break, but it seemed like he could never escape.

Windblaze had snuck easily out of camp, just to be alone. It wasn't like anyone would miss her or anything, she wasn't that important. But if she needed to hide, for some reason, she'd fail miserably. That had to be because of her gray pelt. She just wanted to be alone, and ignore anyone who'd talk to her - forget that if her mentor had come here, her plans had changed considerably, because she didn't care. Well, she never got what she wanted, because, again, she wasn't alone when she arrived at the pond. That only made her anger flare up, and rush off of her in waves that had to be strong enough to sense. She let out a little grunt as her tail fluffed up in annoyance, and as she narrowed her eyes.

kitetail Kitetail had settled down by the pool, letting his forepaws dip in the water and trace designs with the ripples - designs that he couldn't see. The tom let the peacefulness envelop him as he slowly began to drift into a daze, far from the whining of the mosquitos and the cool moor breezes. His peace, however, didn't last long. Another cat came along, huffing and expelling easily detectable anger. Kitetail sighed. It seemed like cats who could see never noticed just how much their emotions distrubed the air around him. Her pawsteps were heavy and her breath was laboured - a sure sign of frustration. The brown tabby turned his head to glance at her with sightless orbs. "Windblaze?" he asked. Her scent was exactly difficult to notice.
He took his forepaw out of the pool but didn't realize how damp it was until he pressed it against the earth, causing dirt and bugs and other such disgusting creatures to stick to his fur. Annoyed, Kitetail set out at grooming them. For a tom, he was pretty self-conscious of his fur. Maybe it was because he couldn't see the bugs and he could only feel them as they wormed against his skin, twisting and turning in every way. The tabby warrior shuddered and focused his attention back towards the medicine cat, ears swivelling in her direction.

"Yes?" Windblaze meowed, glancing up at the sky. The way the clouds laid low on the horizon, it didn't look attractive. Her eyes gave away her irritation. Her claws dug into the ground, making miniscule pits in the earth as she tried not to yell out the rudest thing she had in her brain. She didn't have anything against blind cats, or any cat that had lost a sense, but she seemed to be irritated - basically all the time - in general. Don't get her wrong, she wasn't insinuating she was discriminating others - which she wasn't. It could easily of been taken that way, and so, she proved her point. She was just annoyed. No other reasons.

kitetail The brown tabby tom, so often misunderstood, ignored, or misrepresented, understood the feeling of being angry at nothing and at everything at the same time. It was just a general frustration with life. He liked it, of course, and didn't want to end it, but sometimes it was just so difficult to make it through the day when no one really listened to what you were saying. Even though he spat at Windblaze just as often as he spat at his other Clanmates, Kitetail had a deeper respect for her. She was just as angry as he was.
"I'm just saying hello," he muttered defensively, still keeping his sightless optics trained on her. He could tell where she was by her breathing and by the sound of the wind through her fur. But he couldn't see her. He would never be able to. Lonliness spread through him like a word, eating him away from the inside. He didn't have anyone to turn to. Even a simple conversation with his clanmate was tearing at him. "What brings you out here?" He was going to attempt to be cordial. Even if it killed him. Or at least got him boiling mad.

"Well, um...uh,"She paused, to contemplate how she would explain it in a more, polite way. Even if she had to lie. "Well, I just needed some fresh air, that's all, and this seemed like the best place. I'm glad to be here. It's much quieter, actually. "
Oh, she talked like that when she was nervous. Usually, when she wasn't - well let's explain it this way. If you were to write it as a book, it'd be pages of false starts, then pages of jerky lines, and then lastly, the smooth, calm words would come out.
A small smile pulled at her lips, before it dissapeared quickly. What did you want her to say? You can't just sigh deeply and say, "Oh, how glad I am to have come out here." Don't tut-tut her.
Oddly enough, she had admired Kitetail's eyes. She didn't know why, she just did. You don't need to go and think of reasons. It's as simple as that. It doesn't need to get anymore complex with things like, "Oh, da-da-da," and "This, da-da-da."
She disliked mosquitoes. If not because they whirred in her ears, it was because, she ended up with the most mosquito bites in the long run, and she had to itch them or she'd reach insanity.

Cinderflash was aimlessly wandering through the tall grass to escape the sweltering heat of Greenleaf. It almost made her wish for Leafbare.... but no. She could never wish for Leafbare- for that was when her brothers died of greencough. She thought back to that moment, so long ago, and became angry. Angry and sad, because there was nothing she could do about it. Cinderflash hated being helpless. She swore that she would avenge their deaths- but how? She didn't have the patience or desire to train as a medicine cat. Her thoughts were confused and frustrated as she approached the small pool. Startled, she realized where her paws had taken her and saw in the same moment Windblaze and Kitetail, two cats that she distantly knew. Suppressing her pointless anger, she made an effort to be polite. "Hello, Windblaze. Kitetail." She greeted them with a too-friendly smile. ((Is it just me or is the pool the place for angry cats to hang out together? ))

kitetail Well, I just needed some fresh air, that's all, and this seemed like the best place. I'm glad to be here. It's much quieter, actually.
Kitetail nearly smiled despite himself, the corners of his mouth raising into what appeared to be an odd half-amused expression. The brown tabby felt no urge to give his habitual snort as a form of reply. Instead, he felt a kind of understanding envelop him. She was right. 'Here', wherever that was - he knew where it was physically but was thinking in a more metaphysical sense - was certaintly more peaceful than anywhere else. "I know how you feel..." he replied slowly, his voice a clear tenor as it trailed off. The tom had matured since his days as a bad-tempered apprentice, though his anger was still known to flare up.
He could feel it pulsing and writhing within him, like a liquid force pushing through his veins and just counting down the moons until it was free. Kitetail took a deep breath, steadying himself as he swayed gently. He hadn't had an outburst for a long time now, but sometimes he missed the feeling of anger building up to his temples and expelling out through his open maw.
It was then he became aware of an angry cat padding down towards him. He was aware of the way she walked and her position from the way the wind ruffled her fur. Like both of them, she didn't seem content either. It was that which opened him up, like a key in a lock, to her. It was easier to talk to others who were just as bitter as yourself. "Cinderflash," he greeted, pricking his ears at her strained politeness. "How are you? How's the prey running?"
OOC. yeah crane it is, i've just been busy, sorry! nightfire, i accepted that bio, so you can feel free to roleplay now if you'd like.

(:OOC: thank you eagleh.)
"The prey is less than plentiful, but I've managed, thank you," Cinderflash replied. "Greenleaf is never the best hunting season. I much prefer Leaf-fall. There are a larger number of tender young rabbits gallivanting about." Her bright green eyes glinted in the sun. Breathing deeply, she decided that perhaps a quick swim in the pool would help to cool her off and calm her down. She slipped into the water noiselessly, hardly creating a ripple as she submerged herself completely. After a moment she came back up to the surface and swam to the bank. The water was much colder than she had anticipated, and so she shook her fur free of water and lay down in the sun to dry. The one good thing was that the swim had indeed calmed her enough to talk almost cordially to Kitetail. Unlike the other cats in Windclan, Kitetail was solitary and alone, like her. Except for one thing: she could see... and Kitetail could not. There would always be a huge barrier between him and every other cat in the clan. She shuddered at the thought of being eternally trapped in darkness. Cinderflash wanted to pity him, but then stopped herself quickly. She knew just how much she hated it when other cats looked at her with pity and regret in their eyes- it made her furious.
