A young gray shaded calico she-cat padded her way into the old motel on silent paws, her shaded ears twitching as she listened quietly to her surroundings. Twitching her whiskers back and forh, she felt her way to what seemed like steps. They were solid yet very cracky. She stopped with her front paws on the bottom step as she listened to the stone creak under her light weight. Her ears perked forward when she leapt up to the third stone and it creaked even louder under her weight. The calico cat reached over to the edge with her nose to see if there was a branch she could climb onto to sneak up the stairs and onto the next landing, but there wasn't one. Using her whiskers, ears and paws, she slowly leaped her way up the stepped stones and onto a mostly solid landing. She was surprised when it didn't creak under her paws like the steps had, so she took down the wall, feeling her way with her whiskers and kept stopping to smell if any others were near, but there was nobody.

Escape, sweet escape. Leiko has been penned up with those ShadowClan cats too long. It was a comfortable life, sure, but where was the fun? Chained up in camp with all the food you want but nowhere to go. Besides, it's not like anybody would miss her. She really only talked to the younger cats, the older ones were too busy preparing for everything. After the ThunderClan and RiverClan cats invaded, ShadowClan was decimated. During the flee to WindClan territory, Leiko decided she'd be no help and peeled away from the group, sprinting into the night and to her old home, the Old Motel. Right now she was returning from her first hunting trip in moons. No more sitting still for Leiko, the life of a loner was tough but rewarding. She licked her lips to wipe away the last traces of mouse before returning to her favourite room on the ground floor. Quick escapes from there. Never getting caught out like that time again. The sight of another cat on the landing above her made Leiko freeze. Surely it couldn't be, but the grey calico fur looked just like that of Leiko's old enemy Longclaws. Dead long ago, of course, but the sight made her freeze nonetheless. Now, she could either ignore this cat, walk straight to her room, and possibly have a competitor later, or talk to the cat now and have - not an ally, but someone that wouldn't kill her over a mouse-tail. What if I stutter again? she quailed. No, I talked to a lot of cats while I was a ShadowClan prisoner. I'll be fine. She braced herself. Ah, hello? she called out. Yay, I sounded normal! she rejoiced. She bounded up the stairs in a few efficient leaps to see the cat's face.

Freezing in her pawsteps, Storm turned her head slightly as she heard another cat. The tip of her tail twitched slightly as she listened. "Hello." She meowed back as she slowly turned her head in the direction of the new cat, still listening for any other movements that would pose as an attack. Turning her back, to face the cat head on, the calico sat down with tail behinid her to hide the twitching of her tail tip. She kept her ears facing the new cat, knowing every pawstep they made. The floor was silent yes, but she could hear every fall of the cat's paws. Breathing in slightly, Storm could tell that this second cat had a recent meal from the smell of meat lingering on their pelt. Taking a second breath, she could tell that she was accompinied by another she-cat. One that would probably want this loner out of the Old Motel from the smell of a clan. "You smell of a clan cat." She spoke softly to herself, noting the smell of Shadowclan, and remembering that their clan border had to be near by, so the cat could have easily crossed their border to gain the smell of that clan, then retreated from their borders and head back to the Old Motel. Storm kept her voice light whenever she spoke to this new cat, but who was she?

"C-clan cat?" Leiko stuttered. Of course. How had she overlooked that? She'd just escaped from an area with all four Clans fighting head to head. Well, almost... Stayed with ShadowClan too long! The basict instincts were still there, of course, but now Leiko would have to remember all the important things that kept oneself alive. Better smooth this over before the cat attacks. She looked the other she-cat straight in the eyes. Wait. Those eyes - they had the slightly strange, unfocussed look of a blind cat. Leiko squinted. Yes, definitely. No wonder she'd been so easily mistaken for a Clan cat, then. "I'm not a Clan cat... Never was. I was their prisoner, because I ventured into their territory." Actually, at the time, she'd been hoping one of the warriors would find her and kill her. Haha, that sure went well. She was found by some fledgling warrior with a limp who just took her back to their camp. "Actually, now you know my story... What's yours? Why are you here? I haven't seen you around before," Leiko accused. This cat had gotten an important leverage over her - information. Now it was time to get a little balance back in this conversation.

Storm chuckled softly to herself. "You don't have to worry about me attacking. I'm not self centered like other rogues." She said as she wrapped her tail around her paws, still facing the cat. She could tell the other cat was looking at her closely. "Noticed i'm blind, haven't you?" Blinking softly, she lowered her head and turned it away from the new cat, ears turning slightly back in soft shame of her past. It was different from many others who turned blind, but it always brought tears to her eyes.

W-what? It's like she can read my thoughts! Although, I have heard, blind cats usually have much better senses in other areas... I suppose you need to make up for it. The she-cat turned away but Leiko spotted a glimmer in her eye. Deep and dark past, huh? Well, who'd choose to be a loner if there was another choice? ...Other than me. There was no point in attacking this cat. There wasn't that hardened meaness about her like you'd find with other cats. This one wasn't going to turn around and scratch you. "What's your name?" asked Leiko, her ears twitching. This would be important. If the cat already trusted Leiko enough to share her name, then that was the green light. Not an insane, untrustworthy rogue. A normal cat in unfortunate circumtances. Leiko casually licked a paw and swiped it over her ear to stop it twitching.

The grey calico lifted her head slightly higher as she spoke her name. "Storm. And who might you be my friend?" she curled her paws under her as she crouched down, ears still toward rhe other. Storm wondered if this cat was going to be one who would turn against a blind cat like she, but running her tongue over her whiskers to erase the urge to twitch them to catch any new scent or movements in the air around them, but everything was beginning to grow old as the two she-cats sat there and talked.

Leiko tensed as the other she-cat crouched down. My friend? How presumptuous. Names are a powerful thing. She relaxed and sat down, giving the air of being at ease. Nothing gained by keeping her name. "Leiko," she said, with the stuck-up air of a princess bestowing a favour. Now what? Names had been exchanged, possible rivals had been scoped out. Was there any more point to having a conversation? Leiko had been fed, so now it was time for sunbathing - well, maybe once the sun had risen. It was almost dawn, though. Maybe time for a little nap beforehand. Although she felt like there was still be to be gained from continuing this conversation. Was there? Maybe to dig up some more information on this stanger. You could never know too much. "So what's your story?" Leiko asked in a casual tone. Hopefully she wasn't overdoing it. "How did you end up here with the rest of us losers?"

Snorting silently to herself mostly and turning her head away from Leiko, her voice become weary. "We may be losers to the eyes of others Leiko, but inside, let's admit it, we're just like everybody else. Some rogues and clan cats think only of themselves, while others think and respect those they live around, and I am one of them." Storm sat up again with her face toward the other she-cat, her body still. She wasn't sure how far the conversation would go, and she wasn't sure she wanted to know either. "If you want to know Leiko, know that I was born a seeing Rogue, blinded by battle with a preditor as a kit. Never grew up with a real family. What about yourself? If you're not a clan cat, why do you smell like one?" She questioned as her tail tip twitched slightly, as the air around her brushed her fur, telling her that Leiko had tensed then relaxed again.

Leiko cringed at the question she should have anticipated. Did she dare tell her secret past to this she-cat who she barely knew? When she, and she alone, knew? Well why not? It's not like, after today, she would ever see this cat again. "It's a long story, but I was born a kittypet," she began. A kittypet... "I had a family, all brothers, and one day my youngest brother and I escaped into the forest, on the hunt for an adventure. As soon as we stepped over the boundary we were found by a ThunderClan patrol, and in the race to escape... Kami was hit by a monster." Leiko sniffed. Her favourite of her three brothers... "I was a coward. I ran away while they were distracted, and I came here where I met Julian..." Oh, Julian. Her rescuer. Her saviour. "He taught me how to live, but of course, a few moons later we were ambushed by BloodClan cats, who had escaped. We killed them, but Julian..." That idiot. If he'd lived a bit longer, she could have helped him. But no, he went and died. Then of course she realised she was in love with him. Mouse-brain! Leiko looked back at Storm. How was she reacting? It probably wasn't everyday a random stranger spilled their history to you. She shouldn't have. Although, Storm had trusted her, and Leiko hating owing debts.
