THE RIGHT DECISION; Lovely. Slipped right out of her claws, that little brown creature. Sombersong silently cursed the mouse that had by now scurried into the nearest bush. She could still hear it rustling around in the leaves, most likely digging a new home, but the young warrior's patience was running extremely low. So she padded on, her mouth kept slightly open, taking in the damp, woody scents of her clan's territory. Within what seemed, oh, an eternity, Sombersong caught the wonderful scent of a nice, juicy vole.. Instantly, she dropped down low to the ground. She could almost hear the impossibly fast quivering of it's little heart now. The she-cat pricked her ears, now relying on her hearing since it was virtually impossible to see through the mist, which had unfortunately settled in the previous night. She finally caught sight of it when it was only a few tail lengths away. It had not yet seen her, and was nibbling on a little seed that it clutched with with its minuscule paws. Suddenly, it paused, and looked up. It had definitely scented her, but she felt sure it hadn't seen her, as a mouse's vision was much worse than a cat's. Sombersong stiffened her muscles, staying as possible. She couldn't let this one get away.

Fallensong Fallensong wasn't paying attention to anything but the vole in front of her... She hadn't even noticed the cat that had approached, watching the same vole. Suddenly, as it stiffened, she realized that it had caught a scent. Before it could get away, however, she shot a paw out, snagging it. It was a reach, but she got it. Her favorite place to hunt had been unusually quiet today - probably one of the effects of the thick mist that had settled. She started to walk away, when the stiff breeze in the air shifted, and she could scent another cat... Sombersong. She looked behind her - though site didn't help much. "Hello" She mewed, silently. 'Another cat... This must be a common spot!' She thought to herself, for it had only been yesterday when she had met the loner cat here... and the day before that she had become warrior. All was well, except her leg, which never would be. Her blue eyes focused in the direction of the scent she had caught - and sure enough, there was a silhouette of another cat there.

A feeling of irritation prickled under Sombersong's fur when she first caught the scent of a clan mate. A shadow moved quickly through the mist, and the vole was gone. She padded a little closer, and sniffed deliberately to prove her annoyance. "Hello," she mewed, a little crossly, feeling as though she was a failure. Two sightings, and not one catch. She shook her head for a fraction of a second, then turned back toward Fallensong, who was sitting beside the now dead vole. "Gorgeous day out, yeah?" Sarcasm dripped like venom from her voice. She wasn't really trying to be rude - it was really mostly the anger at her own self that caused her to act this way. Besides, Sombersong wasn't exactly the sweetest of the sweet, and pretty much ever cat in the clan new that. The scents of prey that wafted deliciously around the air and into Sombersong's little chocolate nose weren't so tempting anymore. She was officially sick of hunting, and although she knew she couldn't eat until she brought back some fresh-kill, the young she-cat decided she didn't care very much. ooc; bleeh. sorry, lacking creativity.

Fallensong Fallensong, though stunned by the slight venom in her voice, could understand why she was upset - she could scent that she had not caught anything yet. She wanted to help... but would it be right for her to? Oh well. "It depends. Some cats like the fog. And some cats can't see it - so this would be a great day for them." She replied, somewhat carelessly. She wondered what it would be like, not being able to see. Just like she sometimes wondered what it would be like to be a different creature... But she would rather not find out.
It was warm and humid, making it feel as though she were drenched in warm water, though it was nice. If she climbed a tree - a very difficult task for her - she could see above the low mist, and it would be enchanting, the mist rolling along the ground and between the trees, like an elders tale. But she didn't, coping with the view - as good as it was - from the ground. It was so calm... So peaceful... Something that could be ruined quickly by a fox or badger... Her mind snapped back to her. She sat up, wrapping her tail around her paws as well as she could.

Golden eyes narrowed as she stared down Fallensong. She was already embarrassed, and for some reason, her words were humiliating her even more. She sighed, and turned her back to her. As she padded away, she decided she had better do something for the clan. She ignored what the she-cat said, and meowed quietly, just loud enough for Fallensong to hear, "Well, we might as well do something useful. Care to patrol the border with me?" Sombersong was rather tensed. She wasn't used to having conversations with other cats, as she tended to keep to herself. She'd always been this way, and it was truly all her choice. Sombersong wasn't a shy cat, and was not timid or afraid to tell others off, but she was always thought of as the "loner" of the clan, if that makes any sense.

((**Oops. Sorry. Oh, low muse ATM.**))
Fallensong gave a nod, and a mew in agreement. "That would probably be a good idea." She said, picking up the little vole to cover it, so she could come back for it later. The mist seemed to fill her lungs, making breathing slow, but she didn't mind. As long as she didn't have to run for anything... Not like she could. Her tail whipped as she finished burying the vole. "I'm ready to go." She announced, ears up and legs straight, almost like she were listening for something - though she wasn't. This was just her stance. As she looked toward Sombersong, as though to see if she was ready. She had no doubt she was, though.

The wind was blowing softly, causing a pleasant breeze to roll down Sombersong's pelt. Everything was tranquil and calm. She could hear little birds chirping away happily, as if they hadn't a care in the world; as if there weren't any cats to come and hunt them. The young she-cat nodded when Fallensong accepted her offer, and led the way closer to the border between ShadowClan and ThunderClan, her tail held high and her eyes bright and determined. It was almost as if she was looking for something, anything to be wrong. She craved adventure and war, she wanted everything to be out of place so she, Sombersong of ShadowClan, could fix it all up again.
