Echostar had finally found the right warrior. Sharpfang. She felt that while she had taken quite a while to do it, she had done a good job choosing the deputy. She was particularly anxious since she new the clan was doubtful of her skills.
"All cats old enough to catch their own prey please come to tree stump for a clan meeting!" she yowled. Then Echostar curled her tail around her paws and waited for her beloved clan to gather round the tree stump.

M i n t p a w At the sound of Echostar's summon, Mintpaw padded lightly from the Medicine Cat den and up to the Treestump. The little black she-cat let her green gaze rest on Echostar, ShadowClan's noble leader. Echostar's tail curled patiently around her paws as she waited for ShadowClan to assemble. Her eyes swept the clearing that lay below the stump. Mintpaw was happy she was the first one here. She was sure Skyfire was not far behind her. Mintpaw sat down and curled her black tail around her paws, mimicking Echostar, and purred with delight. Today, they would have a new deputy for the first time in moons. She was absolutely thrilled. Finally, ShadowClan's strength wouldn't be questioned because of their lack of a deputy! They would be as strong and fierce as ever. Not that that sort of thing is a medicine cat's business, she chided herself. If Sharpfang wasn't chosen as deputy, then Echostar was just as foolish as they say! Mintpaw thought with a purr of amusement. She knew Echostar was no fool, or StarClan wouldn't have granted her the nine lives of a leader! Besides, she could almost see Sharpfang's figure dancing in Echostar's eyes.

Sharpfang had been spending time reaquainting himself with the lands, as well as sleeping and gathering his strength. He also spent a little bit of time training with Nightkit, though she hoped Echostar would give her a mentor sometime soon. He perked his ears up a bit as he heard the summons from his beloved Leader and he would nudge Nightkit lightly, as they had been in the clearing working on some moves.
He bounded forth with Nightkit hot on his tail. He headed toward the meeting place and smiled as he saw Mintpaw. He didn't know this one very well, but he blinked a gentle hello to her. Goodness he had been gone too long. But it was not long before he would settle himself down near the base of the tree stump to hear what the Leader had to say.
He had been hearing that Echostar still had not chosen a Deputy. Had there been a Deputy since he had been taken? Goodness that had to be likely. There had to have been one... Echostar was looking for a Deputy when he had been taken... Well he would glance around in silence wondering what this meeting was about. Was she to pick a Deputy? Perhaps she was to give Nightkit a mentor... But wouldn't he have heard about this? Well he would lean down to give Nightkit's head a light lick, not that she needed grooming from him anyway, she kept herself emaculately clean all the time. Well with a bat from her at his nose, he would return his gaze to Echostar. Little did he know, he was about to have a dream come true.
Nightkit had been learning fast, despite being caught in the Twoleg nest... She learned about the Warrior Code and everything from her father. And now he was teaching her some about fighting techniques and moves. He hadn't been able to teach her much where they had been. But she was picking it up rapidly.
It was not long before Nightkit too heard the summons from their Leader and she bounded off after her father, looking around eagerly and expectantly, wondering what was to happen now.

Dalmationpaw had been taking a nice long nap. Since Echostar hadn't given him a mentor, he had nothing to do. He had been dreaming about something happy, he had this vision of a tuxedo she-cat. At her side was another cat , one who had the same huge paws as he did. He felt like he should know them. Had this nagging sense of insecurity when he found that he couldn't. He had also been playing with a black kit. Dalmationpaw couldn't remember her either.
Echostar's summons broke through his confused thoughts. Yawning and stretching, he made a deliberately slow way to the stump. Dalmationpaw was furious with Echostar. He was old enough to be a warrior. But yet he had no mentor! And if Echostar wasn't Leader, Dalmationpaw would have brought his anger and frustration out on her. Not only that, but she had proven herself incompetent by not choosing a deputy.
Dalmationpaw's path took him around the freshkill pile 3 times, and wandered all over the place. He stopped once or twice to just stare at blank space lazily. He was truly doing his best impression of an elder. Instead of holding his head high, he let it droop. His paws dragged themselves across the ground.
When he reached the clearing, Dalmationpaw's heart nearly stopped. His paws did. For in front of his very eyes, were two of the characters from his dream. With them, Dalmationpaw began to put the pieces together. The older cat was Sharpfang, he had been standing beside Dalmationpaw's mother. His mother's name, he now recalled, was Whitefoot. The black apprentice in front of him was Nightkit, the kit who he had been playing with.
Dalmationpaw's heart speed up considerably. He could do anything. He was too shocked. His whole family had gone missing, and yet here, in front of his eyes, were 2 pieces of the life he ought to have had. "D-Dad?" he mewed softly, "N-Nightkit?" He hadn't said the names in so long they felt foreign on his tongue. Coupled With Dalmationpaw's shock, it caused him to stutter.

l e i k o !
New and improved I'm saying Thank you very much Living legend You can look but don't touch Ah, the sunlight was nice. But it wasn't doing anything for Leiko, was it? She was a prisoner in a Clan of cats. Maybe even a Clan that was allies with the feral cats that killed her brother. She snarled silently at the memory. Then she heard Echostar yell something. She had no idea what the leader was talking about, but she might as well go. It was self-centered to think she was going to announce Leiko's fate, but Leiko really wished that was what she was going to do. Forcing herself up off the warm rock she had been resting on, and padded over to what ShadowClan called simply 'the Stump'. Echostar was standing on top of it, and a pawful of cats were scattered around. Leiko sat by herself, off to the side and began licking her pale ginger fur while she waited for something to happen.

Sharpfang remained absolutely still where he was, the only movement from the huge cat, being the slight twitching of his ears as he kept tabs on what went on around him. Sure enough, he knew he was safe here in his clan's home... And yet he wasn't taking any chances with his beloved clan, and what was left of his beloved family... He would fix his gaze upon his leader, smiling warmly to her, showing she had his undivided attention. At first, he didn't even notice the words from the young tom not far off...
Nightkit was a different story... This place was new and yet familiar to her... She longed to simply dart around and explore, getting to know her clan. She looked to her father and tried hard to hold absolutely still just like him, and yet her whole form twitched, her tail lashing here and there in agitation. She didn't want to sit and listen... She wanted to go explore and learn more hunting and fighting techniques. But her attention was soon diverted by a call of her name. She turned to look over her shoulder at an apprentice sized tom.
She glanced at her father and then back at the tom before trotting over to him, sniffing over him lightly, her brows furrowed as she said not a word to him quite yet. And yet she circled him, looking him over critically, before a gasp sounded from her maw. "Dalmationkit!" She squealed, recognizing her littermate. "Dad! Dad it's Dalmationkit!" She mewed out to her father calling him by his kit name, as that was the last thing she knew him by. Goodness Nightkit was making a ruccous at the meeting...
Sharpfang flicked his ears forward in surprise as his daughter bounded off away from him. He glanced to his leader, before pushing to his paws and turning to look to her. And the tom beside her as well. He tensed up a little, not recognizing the tom at first, and he watched his daughter's inspection. And yet suddenly as the scent of the tom hit him as well, distinct from the other cat scents, his eyes widened as he came to the same conclusion as his daughter. "Dalmationkit..." He whispered in surprise before bounding forth and pressing his nose into the flank fur of his son. "Oh my son..." He beamed, surprise and amazement in those amber eyes. He glanced back to Echostar, hoping she wouldn't mind... Afterall this was quite the reuniting... He purred out eagerly as he licked over his son's ears a few times before pausing and looking him over. "Or is it Dalmationpaw now?" He purred softly wondering how long his son had been here without him and if he had a mentor yet.
Snowpelt would roll in the catnip just inside ShadowClan territory with Memoryleaf. They would both mask their scent quite nicely, rolling until no trace of WindClan scent marked them for the time being. She trembled all over at the prospect of going anywhere near ShadowClan's camp, but she trusted Memoryleaf and would nod as he spoke of what they were to do. Once he was done and they were off, she would remain right on his tail, padding after him. Goodness the young WindClanner was terrified, and yet she longed to see her brother, whom she had heard from Gatherings had been taken by Twolegs.
Well she weaved through the territory after her beloved Clanmate, trusting him to lead them to safety. He lead her downwind of ShadowClan camp. The winds were so soft and still anyway, so it almost didn't matter on which side they stood... But she would find a place out of sight, hidden in the brush where she could just see inside the camp. She looked around in silence, until she suddenly saw the hulking figure of her brother, as well as a pair of Apprentices near him. It seemed to be quite a reunion. Goodness she wished for such a reunion with him as well, but she kept her place, trembling all over as she glanced excitedly to Memoryleaf. So far so good... The ShadowClanners were too focused upon the meeting to likely notice the unharming pair of WindClanners in their midst.
(Really really sorry guys! I was absent longer than I thought I would be, and then when I got back, the thread was locked! Lol.)

(You guys ready for this? Silver ish going to make an epic short post >D)
As Mintpaw had assumed, Skyfire padded after the black apprentice, settling next to her under the Tree stump. The older tom glanced up at the young leader, his tail sweeping behind him. At last! Its about time she decided a deputy. And maybe gave us some more information on that loner, he thought, his duel colored eyes darting in her direction. However, the second his gaze returned to Echostar, a feeling of uneasiness came over him. He turned his head, but nothing seemed amiss in the camp. Lightly sniffing the air, he could detect nothing. But the discalm feeling remained. Maybe I should speak to Echostar after this... he thought, pushing the startling feelings aside, his ears cocked toward Echostar.

(sorry about the wait.)
His previously bad mood vanishing, Dalmationpaw trotted over to his family. "It's paw now." He purred, giving them a crooked grin. Remembering his source of anger from earlier on, he added "But Echostar wont give me a mentor." Dalmationpaw sent a glare her way. He was about to go on, but Echostar had decided to intercede and move on with her announcement.
Echostar had noticed, with amusement, that a certain young apprentice was glaring furiously at her. Obviously because he was still angry at her for not giving her a mentor. "Many of you have probably guessed why I called you together," Echostar addressed the clan at large "I announce before StarClan so they may here and approve my choice; Sharpfang will be the new deputy of ShadowClan." she mewed confidently. She paused, waiting for the yowls of approval to die down. "On another happy note, Nightkit has long since pasted her sixth moon, and is ready to become an apprentice of ShadowClan. Sharpfang, in addition to your new duties, you will also choose another warrior to share Nightpaw's training with. I am relying on you to pass on what you know and make the Clan proud," she finished, leaping down from the stump. Briefly, she touched noses with Nightpaw before stepping back.

Skyfire purred approvingly, closing his eyes contently. Yes, there was much potientel in the recently returned warrior. "Nightpaw! Nightpaw!" he cried cheerfully. Soon, the cry rose around the clearing, before many cats broke off to congradulate Sharpfang. Skyfire trotted up to the large tom, his mismatched eyes twinkling. "Echostar choose well," he chirped, a serious undertone in his words. He dipped his head respectfully, before turning toward his den. Slipping inside, he quickly checked his inventory before hurrying out. "Mintpaw, I'm leaving you in charge for a short bit. I'll be back soon!" he called over his shoulder, slipping silently out of camp. Cobwebs, yarrow... those should be easy to find, now that the sun has come out, he thought.

Sharpfang smiled warmly down at his son and nuzzled him gently. "Don't worry... I'm sure she'll give you your mentor soon..." He glanced around. There were less cats than he remembered... But he would lean down to nuzzle his son gently before looking to Nightkit, who was listening intently to Echostar. Sharpfang smiled and returned his attention to Echostar as well. Soon he heard words that neither him nor Nightkit were expecting. He was to be Deputy? No way... He hardly believed what she was saying, and yet the age old words were spoken, he was her choice...
He blinked in surprise, but then grinned broadly. He was her choice! He stood and dipped his head respectfully to her. "I thank you for this enormous honor Echostar and shall do my best to serve the Clan, you, and our Warrior ancestors." He nodded and sat down to listen to the rest of the meeting. He grinned a little bit as she went on to speak Nightkit's ceremony.
Nightkit stood eagerly when her name was called and she would bound up when she heard that it was the ceremony to give her her apprentice name. She would touch noses eagerly with Echostar, looking proudly over the assembled cats, hearing them call her name. She felt her chest puff out with pride, and yet uncertainty pricked at her. Echostar had not named a mentor for her... Was her father to be her mentor? She didn't mind if he was... He had taught her all she knew thus far afterall... Well in any case, she would dart back down to touch noses with her father. She would then dart over to pounce her brother giggling a bit.
Sharpfang grinned proudly up at his daughter as she touched noses with Echostar and then darted down to touch noses with him. He nodded gently to her and smiled warmly as he called out her new name the loudest. Soon it all died down and congratulations were being given all around. Sharpfang smiled warmly as their Medicine cat approached. He dipped his head respectfully to him and meowed softly. "I thank you Skyfire... I only hope I can be of service to my Clan better now..." He nodded gently. He greatly respected Skyfire, so his words meant more to him than many others.
