Ravenpaw's tail swished back and forth as he stalked through the tall grasses. He was brooding again. Ever since Sandclaw had disapeared he'd been in a mood. The she-cat had been, in esence, his life. She was his mentor, his ticket to the freedom of warriorship, no matter how much he hated her. Now at the age of 15 moons he was the oldest apprentice in Windclan besides Windblaze, but medicine cat apprentices are always really old. The tom stomped through the grass until he came to a boulder. Sighing and sitting in the shade of the rock he took the time to claw at the back of his left foreleg. Blood gushed from the wound staining the dusty ground with scarlet droplets. He huffed a single blissful sigh as the releif of pain flooded over him before the blood flow stopped. He raised his leg to lick the blood back to life but the tangy taste made him spit. No matter how much he liked the pain, the taste was horrid. Sighing again and flipping his hair out of his eyes he laid down on the ground, staring up at the clear blue sky. Now he'd wallow in his own self pity until someone coaxed him back to camp later... or sooner.

It was cold. Windblaze slowly trudged through the tall grass, her pelt easily picked out between the thin strands of grass. The she-cat was quite young, at least 17 moons. Not far behind was the delicate Iridescentsight, who had nearly losed her way. The air wasn't still, the sun still pricked its way, silently, yet nosily into the sky. It was one of those days where you would wonder why you think and such. But not for most.

Ravenpaw's ears pricked. Intruders! He stood up, the hair along the back of his spine standing straight up and his tail fur fluffinging out. His neck fur started to bristle and he stood on his tip toes, his back starting to arch that way it had done when he was a kit. Then he remembered his black fur and how easily he could be spotted and dropped into a hunter's crouch. He crept forward, toward the two intruding cats. His haunches swayed as he waited for just the right moment to pounce. Letting out a low, long caterwhaul that made him sound like a ghost more then anything he sprang at the two, landing squarely on the gray spotted she-cat's shoulders. He dug his claws in so she hopefully wouldn't be able to shake him off and growled, the sound coming from deep in his throat. He didn't know who these cats were, but they were going to get it.

"OMG NOOB! Ravenpaw, it's me, Windblaze!" Windblaze squealed, her limbs failing to hold the extra weight. The medicine-cat squirmed and hissed, sounding like an angry snake, with it's tail trapped underneath a rock. Iridescentsight daydreamed for a bit, before snapping into the real world. "Ravenpaw! Get off her!" The small she-cat said. You may not easily take her seriously for her size, but she was quite strong, and when she wanted to be, mean.

Ravenpaw gasped and jumped off of Windblaze, his ears flatting in embarrassment. "OMG IM LIKEH TOTALLY SORRI Sorry..." He mumbled, shuffling his paws. He glanced at Iridescentsight, taken aback by her beauty and let himself marvel for just a moment. Only a moment, before his eyes went back to his too big paws. He shuffled from side to side for a moment, his fur growing hot under the she-cats gaze. I can't believe I just did that! And infront of Iridescentsight! He thought, more ashamed then ever. He took one second to jerk his head to the side, moving his too long hair out of the way before it fell back into place about his eyes.

Iridescentsight sighed. When she swung her tail around, she absentmindedly curled it around one of Ravenpaw's wrists. The small she cat looked down and moved her tail away, smiling sheepishly. The sun finally found it's place in the sky, making Iridescentsight's irises contract into slits, giving her a touch-me-not appearance. Windblaze nodded her head. "I forgive you."

Ravenpaw pulled his paw up, holding it close to him and sniffing for fresh blood. To his dismay, the light touch had drawn none, and his furless wrists were dry and numb. He glanced at Windblaze, offering her a tentative smile. "Thanks, I don't know what I was thinking..." He glanced toward Iridescentsight, the heat of his embarrassment leaving his fur. "So, what are you two doing out on such a windy day?" He mewed, his tail swishing lightly against the tall grasses. He could hardly feel the breeze, his winter coat had already grown in and his fur was thick as it was. He took a moment to lick down his ruffed chest fur, the white diamond on his chest showing brightly in the sun.

Iridescentsight shrugged, and shivered a bit. The air had gotten colder, even if the sun was up. It just seemed to ignore it and stayed cold. The small she-cat blinked. She glanced at Ravenpaw and looked away, slightly awed. [[ gaaaahhh no muse. D;]]

Ravenpaw nodded, and shuffled around a bit, looking around again. "So, do you two want to hunt with me? Or we could..." He trailed off, not knowing what else to say. Silence settled over him and he glanced around again. The smell of the river drifting over the boarder made him shiver, thoughts of Shiverpath flooding his mind. He shook it away, and looked at Iridescentsight, admiring her for a moment before looking away. By Starclan she's beautiful! If only Windblaze weren't here... He thought, eyeing the gray spotted she-cat with a slight bit of malice before dropping his eyes again.

Iridescentsight nodded, her tail flicking. The tall grasses brushed against each other. The clouds rolled slowly over the sun, making the ground dark for a second, before the clouds moved away. She glanced at Ravenpaw again, smiling slightly.

Ravenpaw nodded, and moved to lead the way, then looked at Windblaze. "You coming too?" He asked, his tail flicking questioningly. He hoped she wouldnt and then he would be able to be alone with Iridescentsight and they could talk... or whatever adults did that made them fall in love. He wanted Iridescentsight to like him, he wanted her to like him alot. She hoped she would.

Windblaze quickly ran off, and before long, she was gone. Iridescentsight thought for a moment. The way the clouds moved -- it felt as if she was in a dream that she thought was reality. But maybe the clouds made her realize her true feelings for Ravenpaw.

Ravenpaw watched Windblaze run off with a slight puzzelment in his gaze, then he shrugged. "So where would you like to hunt?" He asked Iridescentsight, tryng to sound casual, but he was actually really nervous, his tail twitching back and forth uncontrollably. He glanced up at the sky, the fluffy white clouds rolling by and his lips twitched in a smile. He looked back at her. "Pretty aren't they? The clouds..." He murmured, loud enough for Iridescentsight to hear before he loked back up, the blue sjy overhead stretching for as far as he could see. He couldn't understand how those forest cats could live with the sky so blotted out by the trees. He loved the moor land, almost as much as he loved Iridescentsight.

"Yes," Iridescentsight answered, thinking of another sensable reply to his second question," I don't know. Where do you want to go?" She asked, glancing at the sky again. Her eyes then rested on Ravenpaw. Hmm.

Ravenpaw looked around and shuffled his paws, trying to figure out where he wanted to go with Iridescentsight, but he couldn't decide. He wanted to be everywhere with Iridescentsight, or no where at all. He wanted to be here with her, he wanted to be with her at camp or at the boarder or anywhere she wanted to be. He sighed, glancing at the position of the sun. It would be sunset soon... He looked back at her, giving a shrug. "I can't decide. How about we just stay here?" He meowed to her, sitting down on the dusty ground. He swept his tail back and forth next to him invitingly and smiled at the pretty she-cat, hoping she would sit next to him. Then maybe they could talk, and Ravenpaw's mouth would start working so he could speak his mind.
