Duskstar leapt proudly up onto High Rock and yowled the famous words. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under High Rock for a clan meeting!" He then sat in the spot that had accupied Midnightstar for countless moons, wrapping his tail around his paws. He imagined the clan was hystaric, having not known about his being deputy for an hour and then going to the Moonstone unannouced. But this clan was going to change, and he was going to change it. He flicked his ears impatiently, waiting for the cats to gather.

Shrubwhisker cracked his eye open, peering through the gloom inside the warrior's den. At first, he could not remember anything besides the fact that he used to be sleeping. Then last night's events came rushing back to him: Iceleaf's disappearance early that morning; Midnightstar's shock and grief at loosing yet another valued deputy; her announcement that Duskpelt was to be deputy again; and then her retirement. Startled, Shrubwhisker jumped to his feet, shaking away the scraps of dreams that clung to him. He hurried outside, confused. Someone was calling. Duskpelt...? The tom was sitting atop the stump, his tail wrapped around his paws. Hesitantly, Shrubwhisker approached, realizing that Duskpelt was now leading ThunderClan. Perhaps he's already gone and gained his nine lives... or maybe he's naming the new deputy. he thought absently, sitting at the base of the stump.

Riversong padded into camp, dropping her vole onto the fresh kill pile. She was about to pick up a plump-looking thrush when Duskpelt called for a Clan meeting. That's odd - maybe Midnightstar was sick or something. That was a shame, but with ThunderClan's new medicine cat, there was nothing to worry about. She settled onto the ground at the base of the Highrock, waiting for Duskpelt to announce whatever he had to say.
Noxshadow opened one eye from where he was lying, in a rare patch of sunlight. It looked like Duskpelt had something to say. Panic rose in his chest, almost choking him. If Mountainpelt had told him, Noxshadow's history as a ThunderClan cat was about to go ka-put. Maybe he was making assumptions. Mountainpelt wouldn't tell. She knew he'd do it again if she told. And probably kill her while he was at it. Then keep stalking her in StarClan! Hehe. His outlook was good. He went and sat a little way away from Riversong, who was already there.

*Graypaw*
A young apprentice with green eye's looked up at his Mentor who was the Deputy. But now he was Leader and Graypaw got a bad feeling from this. It seemed at times that Duskstar, well he wasn't sure what. But none the less he still came to the gathering cats of his clan. He sat in front and saved a spot for his sister Silverpaw who was the new Meds Cat Apprentice. He was proud of her for working so hard at doing her job. Graypaw was a silverish, gray tom with green eye's that looked at his new leader.
*Silverpaw*
Blue eye's peeked out of the Meds Cats den and saw that a Clan meeting was starting. Another young apprentice ran over to the gathering cats. She slowly found her way to the front and saw her brother. Silverpaw sat beside him with a small smile on her muzzle. Her pelt looked just like her brothers, but it was more Silver then it was Silverish gray. Bright blue eye's looked at her new Leader Duskstar and her brother's mentor.

Gingerstorm peeked his head out from the Warrior's den, still fully awake. He trudged out of the den, and noticed that Duskpelt- no, Duskstar was calling a clan meeting. Was he finally going to pick a Deputy? It will probably be Noxshadow. Gingerstorm concluded. The ginger tom stared at Duskstar. For some reason, Gingerstorm had a gut-feeling that Duskstar wasn't all that he appeared to be. Could it be, that he was hiding something? The Senior Warrior shrugged, and waited for Duskstar to speak again.

Duskstar flicked his tail irritably. It was taking too long for cats to show up. He tossed that aside and stood up on High Rock, Looking over his clan like he was approving them. "Cats of Thunderclan. I am sorry to say, but as all of you know, Midnightstar has disappeared. Before her disappearance, she named me deputy again, after finding Iceleaf gone. I have to say both these events sadden me deeply, but I must go on, and so shall the clan. We will not let our selves look weak or let others think Midnightstar was a coward." But she was... He thought to himself while pausing, then continued. "As Thunderclanners, we are strong, and so we shall always be. And to show that strength, I would like to name a new deputy. Gingerstorm, will you please step forward." He waited for the other cat to react, a smile on his face. Gingerstorm was a respectable, itelligant cat, and That's what Duskstar wanted, someone with an opionion, but not too much of an opinion. After Gingerstorm became deputy, he'd annouce to the clan his new... 'policies'.

Gingerstorm's eyes widened. He? Deputy? He was just an old, lonely Senior Warrior! What would he do? What would he say? Gingerstorm couldn't possibly say no, It was such an honour to even be considered deputy- but to become deputy? He smirked, and stepped forward. "I accept, Duskstar." he mewed boldly. Though there was still the lurking suspicion of a lingering Riverclan scent on his leader, Gingerstorm stayed quiet. I mean, he did have to pass through Riverclan in order to get to the moonstone, right? Yes, of course. That was it. Gingerstorm stepped in front of his clan, his blue eyes locked onto his leader's. What is he thinking about? The now-Deputy wondered.

*Silverpaw and Graypaw*
Silverpaw looked surprised that Gingerstorm was being made the new Deputy. But he looked so happy and she smiled at him then she caught his eye. Her bright blue eye's sparkled as Silverpaw looked at him. The young apprentice looked at her brother who's green eye's looked a little dull. Silverpaw became a little worried at that moment. She has asked him many times what was wrong and she got the same answer "I'm fine Silverpaw, Nothings wrong" would be what he tells her. But the little she cat could help but worry.
Graypaw looked at his new Deputy and then to his leader with a look that showed he accepted Gingerstorm. But it wasn't up to him, he was just an apprentice. But still Graypaw liked to know who was of high rank and also he was glad that Duskstar let the whole Clan know who the New deputy was. He'd been training hard with Duskstar and his sister was becoming worried about him. Graypaw's green eye's were always dull and he didn't want her to know that he blamed himself for their parents death's. Even though some where deep down a voice told him "It wasn't your falt Graystripe" is what it would say. He some times didn't understand why it called him Graystripe. Graypaw push this thoughts to the back of his mind and went back to looking to where his leader was with the new Deputh Gingerstorm.

"I say these words before Starclan, so they may approve my choice. Gingerstorm is the new deputy of Thunderclan." Duskstar meowed, looking at Gingerstorm and knowing it was a good choice. The tome was loyal, and smort, so he wouldn't oppose what Duskstar had to say next. "Also, From now on, We will be sharing our territory with Riverclan. I know it has been a hard Leaf-bare, and everyclan needs food. Riverstar and I have talked and we have worked out a current time of peace between the two clans so that both of our clans may survive the winter. When I talk with the Riverclan leader again, I will work out patrols to go into their territory for fishing lessons. That is all." Duskstar leapt down off High ROck and shot his new deputy a threatening look. It said 'If you cross me I will not hesitate to put you in your place.'

(Snakey, can Duskstar and Silverpaw have a talk about Brookgaze not showing up. Also I would like to talk with you also.)
*Silverpaw*
Silverpaw's blue eye's went wide at hearing that they'd be shearing territory with RiverClan. that wasn't possible, the clans have always taken care of their own and haven't asked for another's help for moons. Being the Meds cats Apprentice Silverpaw knew that something wasn't right. She may not have any training in the ways of a meds cat, but she knew StarClan wouldn't approve of this happening. The young silver Bengal had to talk with her leader about Where Brookgaze was and why the meds cat have not been around to train her or to even care for the Clan.
It scared Silverpaw with the feeling she was getting about her leader Duskstar. Some where there was a bad omen and Silverpaw has yet to see it in it's true form. StarClan loved the Clans and would help when it was needed badly. But this couldn't be the works of StarClan at all. It was strange to hear that Riverstar was going along with it. Silverpaw followed her leader to his den and entered "Duskstar, my have I have a word with you.....It's ......about my Mentro and also............Also......." she couldn't say it. It wasn't her place since she was just an apprentice of the meds cat. Only if Brookgaze were here and she was braver. Her brother Graypaw has always kept her safe from harm. But Silverpaw had to stand up for herself one day. Graypaw my not always be there for her and the knowing that broke her heart. Graypaw could die in battle and she would have to do things like this alone. So she might as well try to do it alone now while she had the chance.
*Graypaw*
Graypaw watched as his sister Silverpaw followed his mentor and leader to the Leader's Den. Graypaw push it off as her needing to talk to him and that nothing would happen to her. Silverpaw was safe with Duskstar were his thoughts. But who knew what was going to happen in that den of the leader's.

Gingerstorm curled his lip back, wanting nothing more than to rip Duskstar's throat open for what he had done. How could he just decide to let Riverclan hunt in Thunderclan territory? Something had to be done, there was no way Gingerstorm would allow this to go any further! Gingerstorm received Duskstar's glance. The ginger deputy wanted even more than before to tear Duskstar. But, this had to be political. Gingerstorm strolled over to his leader's side, and hissed. "How dare you do this! How could you make us share our land with, Riverclan." Gingerstorm asked in disgust. Gingerstorm flexed his claws in the earth, still wanting nothing more to know what in Starclan's name what Duskstar was planning.

Duskstar flicked his tail disconcerningly to Gingerstorm. "This is my clan, you have no right to tell me what to do. Prepare yourself for a journey, I have a meeting with the Riverclan leaders and I want you to be there. Also, Fetch Silverflower and Dawnkit from the nursery, they are coming too." He turned to Silverpaw and snorted angerly. He didn't have time to be fooling with the medicine cats. "Brookgaze is running an errand for me. She will be back shortly."

Gingerstorm raised an eyebrow. "Dawnkit? What she going for?" he asked coolly. The newly instated deputy was highly suspicious of why a kit was needed to go with. The ginger tom stared at Duskstar for only a moment more, before heading on over to the Nursery. Why was it important for a kit to come along anyways? Wouldn't it be just more of a hassle? And a queen too? What was going on inside Duskstar's head? As Gingerstorm approached the Nursery, he poked his head in there and said to Silverflower. "Hurry up, Silverflower. You and Dawnkit are going with Duskstar and myself for a meeting in Riverclan."

Silverflower looked up in surprise. "Well, that's odd." She meowed, then nudged Dawnkit awake. The she-kit blinked her oddly sinister and sweet orange and green eyes at her mother, then jumped up at the sight of Gingerstorm. She let out a playful murrow and jumped on the ginger tom, purring playfully. She batted at him with her small, yet strong paws until Silverflower picked her up and pulled her away from Gingerstorm. "I'm sorry, she's very playful." She said, and flicked Dawnkit on the ear with her tail. "Apologize, that was very rude." She scolded half heartedly, but her eyes were shining with amusement. Dawnkit shuffled her paws. "I'm sowry'" She mewed.
Duskstar padded up to the nursery and sat down outside silently. "Are you all ready now?" He asked, his tone quiet, but stern. Dawnkit immediately bounded out of the nursery, passed Gingerstorm and leapt onto Duskstar, meowing to the clan leader excitedly. "Where are we going? What are we doing? Do I get to be a warrior now, Daddy?" She asked, and Duskstar purred. "No, you don;t get to be a warrior yet, but we're going somewhere very important, so please shush while I talk with you mother." The gray tom spoke gently to the she-kit, showing a soft side that he normally kept hidden. Then he looked to Silverflower again, his eyes almost emotionless. "I have schedualled a meeting with Cranefeather and Riverstar, I would like you and Dawnkit to accompany Gingerstorm and I. Come now, we must make haste. I do not like to be late." He said in a very commanding tone, then turned to lead the way out of camp.
ooc: i think that's the end of this thread?

Shrubwhiskere's eyes widened, blinking pools of green. "Share territory with RiverClan?" he croaked, his voice barely above a whisper. But the Clans have never shared territory before! Isn't it against the warrior code or something? he thought. He listened in stunned silence as Duskstar went on. Fishing lessons? Shrubwhisker decided then he didn't care what Duskstar said- he would never go fishing if he could help it. He'd rather starve. He looked around him wildly, but everyone seemed quiet, and resigned. They're still grieving Midnightstar... he thought sadly. Its just not right for Midnightstar to leave the Clan like that. She has been leader since before I was born- she loved this Clan, he thought. Surely, something more happened, something serious, that took their leader away. Just as he was pondering this thought, a startled mew broke his thoughts.
Rosethorn dropped her shrew onto the fresh kill pile, then called to Shrubwhisker. "What's going on? It looks like there was some kind of meeting. What did I miss?" she asked, puzzled. Shrubwhisker looked shocked and confused, which only worried her. "Duskstar announced an alliance with RiverClan. We're going to start sharing territory. Gingerstorm is deputy now. Midnightstar is gone," he croaked. Rosethorns eyes widened, and she stepped forward to stroke Shrubwhisker's flank with her tail soothingly. "Now, why would Duskstar do that?" she asked softly. Shrubwhisker shrugged. "He claimed it had to do with it being a tough leaf-bare and all, but I think it has to do with that warning Riverstar and Cranefeather made at the last Gathering," he sighed. Rosethorn nodded slowly. "We'll talk to him once he gets back, alright?"
(Aaaannnndddd.... now its the end ;3)
