The color red Like the sun in the morning Reminds me of fresh blood
Only one figure was vizible in the clearing at such a time in the morning, though no one thought of it, Duskpelt was easily missing from his nest again. He sat calmly, his long sweeping tail wrapped around his paws and his amber eyes flashing blood red in the dawn light. HIs oversized pupils stared intently at the spot where the sun peaked above the trees each moring, facing east, and hardly moving. The dusky grey tom nothing but twitched in the tiny rays, the gray dawn sky matching that of the palet of his coat, asented by a few hardly visible rays of golden light. To Duskpelt though, the small rays were promenant, bright blood red streaks of light energy. His pupils consumed three quarters of his iris at the very moment he sat there, drinking in each and every spec of avaible light, almost hungerly. The only movement that passed threw the toms body was the slight shiver of each breath, each as scarsely inhaled and exhaled as the next. Some may have thought he was asleep there in the center of the clearing, or dead, his breath was so slow, carefully calculated and steady. Rythmic He thought, liking the way the word sounded in his head. "Rythmic." He whispered, putting much emphasis on the 'th' sound. The tom smirked alittle, Maybe today I'll kill someone... He thought gleefully at the image of blood shed. Maybe today I'll show them.

Silverflower
Silverflower padded into the clearing. It was too early for the dawn patrol. To no surprise, no one was up at this time. Well, no one except for a cat who was virtually a stranger to her: Duskpelt. The only reason she was awake was that she had had a sleepless night. Her dreams had kept her racing through the forest, her pelt chilled with a cold sweat, as eerie amber eyes bored into hers. Her legs were exhausted and limp from their desperate clawing at Silverflower's moss nest, as though she were really running... What Silverflower had intentionally gotten up from her nest for was to go get a drink of water from a nearby puddle, but the stunning sunrise stopped her tired paws in their tracks. The golden rays and sun-beams the color of red roses against the gray dawn was a beautiful sight indeed. She layed down and set her head on her paws as her tail curled around them. She watched the sun rise very slowly and felt sleepiness creeping up on her, but the sun was too bright for her eyes. Silverflower realized that Duskpelt was sitting only a few fox-lengths away from her, and she felt suddle hostility coming from him, but she had done him nothing so there was no reason for him to hate her. She felt reassurance in this thought, and let herself relax. Now she could do nothing but wait for the sun to fully rise into the sky.

Duskpelt A rose may be beautiful like you, my dear But It always has it's thorns Duskpelt's large auds flicked at the sound of another cats aprouch. He ignored it for a moment, then, inhaling before he stood, he turned to the female, his amber orbs gleaming, his enlarged pupils, ghostly. "Hello, Silverflower, how are you? He dipped his head to her, and admiring her glittering silver pelt in the first rays of sunlight. His hostile thoughts faded at the sight of such a lusterous pelt, warm multi-colored eyes and sleek form. His heart warmed, such a lovely form it was. A smiled curled on the traitorous tom's lips. "You are up early, has your sleeping been distrubed? I hope I did not wake you when I got up... or are you waiting for the dawn patrol?" He cocked his head to one side, concern crossing his muzzel, though mostly his little ploy was to gain the beautiful she-cat's trust, for that was his whole mission hear of course, with Flamestripe gone, he could be chosen for deputy, but for now, he desided to "woo" everyone. His tail twitched as he sat near her, turning his gaze back to the sunrise. He waited for a few moments in silence, watching the golden bursts of energy and amber waves ripple threw the sky's gray hues. "Beautiful, isn't it?" He said, stealing a glance at her, and his breath catching for a second. Her pelt sparkled golden in the sun rays, beautifully dappled fron small shadows cast from the trees, to him, it looked as if a warrior of Starclan had desended to sit before him. Though, realizing that only his overly sensitive eyes could pick up such beauty, he smiled, reveling the sight only he could see.

Silverflower
"Hello Silverflower, how are you?" Duskpelt's polite mew woke Silverflower from her stupor. She hadn't expected him to speak to her, since they had never been anything besides denmates and occasionally dawn patrol acquaintances. They had no connection at all besides a shared loyalty to ThunderClan. But he was being quite pleasant and she felt no menace, only kindness from him. She watched him closely, though, as his burning amber eyes studied her silver pelt and her form. Duskpelt spoke once more. "You are up early, has your sleeping been disturbed? I hope I did not wake you when I got up... or are you waiting for the dawn patrol?" She was very surprised at his seeming concern for her, an even more surprised when the concern showed on his face. He cocked his head to the side. Abruptly, his expression changed and he looked towards the rising sun, the crimson and golden light casting a lovely aura about him. Silverflower felt her heart skip a beat at this sight; it was a sort of feeling she had never felt before. "Beautiful, isn't it?" He mused. Silverflower was quite in agreement. She purred in response, and then cleared her throat for it was rusty from so many hours without speaking. She decided to continue the conversation casually. "No Duskpelt, you did not wake me. I had quite a sleepless night..." At this she trailed off, unsure of what details she should tell this unfamiliar tom and what she should keep a secret. She decided not to say too much. She didn't want to burden him with her dreams... nightmares, rather. They were probably insignificant, anyhow. "I suppose I am waiting for the dawn patrol. I've been inactive for quite some time... it would be nice to get out of camp for a while and see how things are in the forest." She realized she was being completely honest with Duskpelt now, though she hadn't intended to. It was just too easy... natural.

Duskpelt If you wait forever You'll grow roots And never move forward Duskpelt glanced to his side again, nodding with her words. "I wonder who's making patrols now...With Flamestripe gone and all." He looked back to the sunrise, spires of light shooting from the dim globe of like now, just peeking over the tree tops. He smiled, his amber eyes gleaming, his gaze returning permenantly to Silverflower, his pelt sparkling more now then it had. He drank in the sigh with honor, thinking back and thanking Starclan for those days in the darkness of the caves. He wrapped his tail around his paws suddenly, shivering in the slight breeze. He sighed, the morning was coming now, the light almost burning his sensitive orbs, and soon he would have to go back to the warriors den ad sleep again, but at least now he could enjoy a few more minutes with this lovely she-cat that was seated next to him. "Your beautiful too, you know." He murmured, his ears flicking bashfully, blinking toward Silverflower, tail twitching almost invitingly.

Silverflower Somehow, the dazzling sunrise had ceased to inspire awe in Silverflower. Probably because sitting next to her was something, and someone, much more intriguing. And not only because of his looks and attractiveness. No, Silverflower wasn't that shallow. She could see past the handsome pelt and glowing amber eyes that seemed much more perceptive than most other cats'. "You're beautiful too, you know." Duskpelt whispered. He seemed a little... bashful. But why? Silverflower wondered. It was true that when he spoke so sweetly to her like that, her heart spun into a frenzy. But she doubted he got the same reaction from seeing her. She found herself inching closer to him, though the movement was so suddle he couldn't have noticed. Besides, it was not like she could help herself. She purred slightly at his words, and then a plan formed in her mind. "Umm.. Duskpelt?" she began sheepishly. She didn't know how to ask it without giving herself away. "If I get chosen for the dawn patrol, would you like to... um.. accompany me?" Yes, yes, that sounded formal and innocent enough. Now what will he say?

[ ooc - Hey Dusky! Snakey said you were sick, but you've logged on a few times... so I was wondering if you'd completely forgotten about this thread or if you still want Duskpelt and Silverflower to be a couple at all. Please reply whenever you can, and get well soon! ]
