Dainty paws met the soft sand without a sound, spraying grains into the air as they skidded and bounded off to the right, skimming past the old twisted oak. Stormpaw breathed quickly as her paws moved faster, leaping into the air to avoid a twig and landing gracefully a tail-length away. She twitched her whiskers almost smugly as she took a sharp turn to her left, retracing her steps to run back around the twisted oak. She could feel cool air running through her fur as she skidded in the sand again, rounding the outside of the oak, just brushing her pelt against its trunk. She was rounding the next curve when a sound came from the bushes, startling her. Her paws came to an ubrupt halt, her entire body jolting forward, her forehead connecting with the tree trunk. The apprentice collapsed in a heap on the sand, groaning quietly. She snapped to attention as the bushes rustled again, looking up with her eyes narrowed in annoyance.
Ooc; So yeah, whoever feels like roleplaying, feel free to post as the cat that made the sounds in the bushes.

...E aglepaw .: There was one thing worse than waking up during leaf-fall on a cold, soggy morning, and that is having ticks jumping all over you. It was unbearable - itching, scratching and yowling in pain all at once from those pesky bugs in his fur. When his denmates began to complain, Eaglepaw scowled and crawled out of the den toward the old oak.
There shouldn't be anyone there to whine about me, the apprentice thought bitterly - or so he thought. Eaglepaw shouldered through the bushes, muttering, "Mousedung," under his breath. A tick bit again. The tom cringed, and the bushes' rustling halted for a moment. Then, after a moment of silence, Eaglepaw scratched wildly everywhere, and the bushes shook violently as if they were coming alive. He could take it no more. Eaglepaw thumped onto the floor, and rolled, and rolled, and rolled - straight out of the foliage, and right into Stormpaw, next to the dark gnarled branches of the gigantic, taunting oak tree.
The world blurred, and Eaglepaw's eyes couldn't focus. Head spins. Pain pounces. His vocal chords manage to rumble a deep groan. All he can feel was the pain in his forehead that numbed everything else. Even the terrible feeling of the itches-scritches was gone. It was just the Old Tree, Eaglepaw, and Stormpaw, now.
What a good head start to the morning. [/blockquote] OOC; that ended up kinda' messy, but it'll do, right? :3

Stormpaw grumbled bad-temperedly as she got to her feet, hissing at the sharp pain that shot through her head. She looked down at Eaglepaw in a heap on the ground, and felt herself get hot under her fur as she realised something. He must've seen me. Peering closely at her fellow apprentice, she jumped in surprise when she noticed a tick hopping around in his fur. And then another. "You know, I could ask Windblaze to get you something for those," she said quietly. She forced air out of her nose grumpily when he didn't reply. All he seemed capable of doing was groaning. With a sigh and a shake of her head, Stormpaw laid back down on the ground, beside Eaglepaw, and gently butted his shoulder with her head. She winced, realising her mistake, but tried to ignore the pain in her head. "You're okay, right?" she asked worriedly. "What did you think you were doing, anyway? Rolling around like that! Not that I'm worried about you or anythin', cause I'm not. But you hit your head a lot harder than I did." The apprentice paused her rambling and widened her eyes. "Should I get Windblaze?" she asked with sudden urgency.Ooc; ^^ Your post was geeewd. And I know Stormpaw's really annoying. xD It's part of her personality.

...E aglepaw .: Itch, scratch, itch. It was a routinely matter. Scratch, scratch, itch, itch, scratch... Eaglepaw opened his mouth in a scowl --
Someone growled. "What happened?"
The apprentice halted, his leg in midair from being half-way through yet another scratch. He blinked, eyes wide, and stumbled to his paws. "Ow-Owlwhisker!!" he stammered, paws trembling.
Oh StarClan, this was not a good day.
Eaglepaw scolded himself and dipped his head in shame. His eyes were squeezed shut and tight. Unrest shivered through his body, making his tail jerk and his paw give a little shake. You mouse-brain lump of crowfood! You mouse-dung smelling lunatic! You shame-filled piece of fox-dung! The insults went on and on.
Eaglepaw gulped. Was he to be forgiven? The apprentice shook his head, subtly so no one could see him do it.
A tick bit him again. [/blockquote] [/s] There has been a total mess-up here. I clicked the "Modify" button by accident. Just to sum it up, Eaglepaw was rolling around itching here and asked Stormpaw a question, but that won't matter because of Owlwhisker coming in ^^

Mrows of cats called from the Old Tree. Soft brown paws shuffled silently along the moor floor. He spotted the two apprentices bundled in the clearing. Eaglepaw, the stubborn, arogant tom and Stormpaw, the small she-cat he had seen practicing earlier. He could see ticks jumping around in Eaglepaw's pelt and he was moaning about something as usaully, but Stormpaw looked at him with an urgent expression. I suppose I can see what's wrong, he thought to himself. He quietly leaped out into the clearing landing daintly beside Stormpaw. "What happened?" Owlwhisker growled.

Owlwhisker's nose twitched at the sight of the apprentice. "Listen well arogant kit," he mused sternly, "You've got bees in your brain if you belive you could let those mangy ticks live in your pelt. You'll give them to the rest of the apprentices and you'll be the one to take care of them yourself," he looked at the apprentice with a stern gaze. Without waiting for a reply, he crossed over to the apprentice and sniffed at his pelt. "Eaglepaw, when we get back to camp, go see Windblaze for your mouse bile, you'll need a lot," Owlwhisker said more gently towards the apprentice. He awaited Eaglepaw's answer from where he sat beside Stormpaw.

Pantherpaw opened a bleary eye as she saw her brother Eaglepaw leave the apprentice's den. Wasn't it a little too cold for a morning adventure? AS she woke up more, she heard the other apprentices whinging about ticks or something like that. Oh, no, not those ticks again! she grumbled to herself. Poor Eaglepaw's ticks were getting out of paw. She opened her other eye and stood up silently, shaking the bedding out of her short black pelt. Without a sound, she stalked after Eaglepaw, her long tail swishing behind her as she stalked him. She had gotten much quieter during her apprentice training! Her paws barely left a footprint on the damp spongy grass. She followed her truant brother to the Old Tree, where he ridiculously walked into a bush, and started itching for all he was worth. She snorted with amusement, trying not to make a loud noise. Then she heard a female voice. She listened harder, and decided it was Stormpaw, a fellow apprentice. She was about to jump in and interrupt - maybe they might want to play a game with her - but then she scented another WindClan cat. It was Owlwhisker. Pantherpaw was getting ridicolously bored by that stage, and shoved her way through the bushes to join her three Clanmates. "Morning, everyone!" she mewed cheerfully, padding over to her brother and giving him a playful flick on his ear.

Owlwhisker scented another apprentice near, Pantherpaw, but just then he saw her walk out and disrupting everything. "Morning, everyone!" she mewed cheerfully. "Good morning Pantherpaw, did you know your brother has had ticks in his pelt for who knows how long?" he asked sternly. The little apprentice was itching still from where he sat and Owlwhisker only rolled his eyes knowing mouse bile was to be on the cats pelt soon enough.

Pantherpaw looked up at Owlwhisker, a defiant challenge glimmering in her green-amber eyes. Oh, so he was going to be mean to her brother, huh? Nobody picked on Pantherpaw's family without consequences! The little black apprentice huffed, expelling the sudden annoyance. If she was going to win this game of wits, she was going to be calm. Calm was the key. If you looked like you knew what you were doing, Pantherpaw had found, nobody asked questions. "Ticks, Owlwhisker?" she asked innocently, "Yes, I was just going to come and find Eaglepaw so I could drag him off to Windblaze's den!" she lied smoothly, a balance of innocence and confidence. Hm, not quite insulting enough. "And what are you doing out here, Owlwhisker? Are you stalking my brother?"

Owlwhisker caught onto the mischievious apprentice's tone and he looked at her with glimmering eyes. "Oh were you little apprentice?" he said calmly, staring evenly at her. He wondered what Eaglepaw and Stormpaw thought of the black she-cat. Owlwhisker licked his brown paw and drew it over his ears calmly. "Well, if you must know, no I wasn't stalking your brother. I was busy spying on little Stormpaw," he said calmly, which wasn't entirly a lie. He wanted to see the she-cat work on her battle techniques. Owlwhisker taked a liking to apprentices. For instance, he felt Eaglepaw had manner issues, but yet he loved the tom's fire. As for Pantherpaw, she can be a little arrogant, but he loved her mishcievousness. Stormpaw was sweet though, and he liked to see how she comes along. He didn't want to hurt her though. That would rip him apart, Owlwhisker doesn't like to hurt others. "I didn't want that to get though," he lied easily, "Anyways, when I was watching her amazing battle skills, Eaglepaw interupted," he said shortly, his tail flicking friskly.

OOC; Heh heh... Sorry about the delay ^^' And tell me if this is false, but Stormpaw is also Eaglepaw's sister, correct? EDIT/ooc: Ohh WOW. I didn't expect this to end up this long! O__O I mean, I missed a couple posts, but still... So sorry you have to read through that! Dx I think I added in too much extra detail... ...E aglepaw .: Eaglepaw was just about to shrivel up into a ball in shame when his sister came to the rescue.
"P-Pantherpaw!" he exclaimed, relief flooding into his veins. The she-cat padded over and gave his ear a lick. Eaglepaw wanted to withdraw, embarressed, but he just stood there, frozen and frigid as stone.
He wanted to cry out loud, 'Pantherpaw, we're not kits anymore!' under the pressure of Owlwhisker's watchful gaze, but he couldn't. How was it that he always make such a klutz out of himself? The tom's heart was pounding against his chest, now. Eaglepaw can feel every beat. It felt as if it was about to burst open. He felt his paws wavering under the heavy weavy weight of this burden. Legs stumbled for a balance.
Great. Just great. Now his denmates have another reason to make fun of him.
Eaglepaw thought he must look absolutely mouse-brain to falter on his own toes like that, so he shook his head into attention. Pantherpaw was engaged with a conversation with Owlwhisker. Annoying fur-wetting slush clumped up on the ground, a muddy brown staining its off-white color, making it look even dirtier than it actually was. For a moment, the apprentice saw him in the half-melted snow, a resemblance in the form of frozen liquid. He blinked and the image was gone.
"...are you doing out here, Owlwhisker? Are you stalking my brother?" the tom caught his mischievous sister's voice.
"Wait - what?" he exclaimed out of no where. Oh StarClan, I better be on the look-out for him more! Eaglepaw said in his head warily. No way was he going to let Owlwhisker trail at his heels.
Owlwhisker interrupted his thoughts. "Well, if you must know, no, I wasn't stalking your brother. I was spying on little Stormpaw." Somehow the tom had been able to mew it all in a calm tone, but his words were more than Eaglepaw could muster.
Stormpaw! That mouse-brain warrior was stalking Stormpaw? The apprentice let out a gasp - half disgust, half shock - and stared, looking Owlwhisker up and down suspiciously. His eyes darted from the warrior to Stormpaw to Pantherpaw, and then from Pantherpaw to Owlwhisker to Stormpaw again. What in the name of StarClan was happening here?
A tick bit down hard, but this time Eaglepaw either didn't notice or didn't care because he didn't even wince.
But the warrior didn't stop there. "I didn't want that to get though. Anyways, when I was watching her amazing battle skills, Eaglepaw interupted." The tom's tail was flicking back and forth friskly, which only added more to the suspicion. He must be lying, Eaglepaw shuffled his paws, He must be! although he didn't even know himself whether he was referencing what the warrior just said, or what he said about stalking.
"Don't listen to that mouse-brain cat, Pantherpaw," Eaglepaw shook his head, "You know he's got this all wrong."
He looked up, concern in his eyes, for he had a feeling that things were going wrong, wrong, wrong. And how did it all start?
Him and the fleas. [/blockquote]

Pantherpaw listened to Owlwhisker's story, her ears flicking every so often as she concentrated. She was about to nod, stand up and drag Eaglepaw off to get those ticks removed, when suddenly Eaglepaw's voice burst out from behind her. "Don't listen to that mouse-brain cat, Pantherpaw, you know he's got this all wrong," Eaglepaw told her, planting the seed of doubt in her mind. Ack, confusion! She glanced back and forth between Eaglepaw and Owlwhisker. Who was right? Her family-oriented side leant towards Eaglepaw. But then again, Owlwhisker was a warrior, and Eaglepaw... as much as she hated to admit it, he was a flea-ridden apprentice. "Well, great, now I don't know who to believe!" she huffed, flicking her tail angrily. Her eyes darted from tom to tom. This... was awkward. "Come on, Eaglepaw," she said, nudging him, "let's go get you some mouse bile." Her nose wrinkled at the mere thought of the vile smell.

Owlwhisker purred softly, loud enough for Eaglepaw to hear. "You're sister is right," he said gently. "Mouse bile is the key to clearing up this mess and I will check with Windblaze to see you have gotten some," he said sternly. Owlwhisker's dusty brown pelt was fluffed up against the chill outside, but he still knew that what he was doing was not only amusing, but also confusing the little apprentices. He knew that when he said he was spying on Stormpaw, it sounded bad, but he only cares for the apprentices and he wanted to see that she has made some progress. "Stormpaw is doing excellent and once those ticks are gone maybe you should work on some battle techniques yourself," he flicked his tail at Eaglepaw. "With ThunderClan and RiverClan acting out, we must be ready for a fight. Who knows what Duskstar will do next," he began talking like a warrior again since the little mishap. I know I want all of the forest to resign in peace once more, the brown warrior thought quietly to himself.

...E aglepaw .: The tick-infested apprentice's eyes widened in a gasp. "B-but what?!" he exclaimed and then threw himself on the ground in frustration. "This is all nuts! Pantherpaw, are you telling me you're turning on me, now? StarClan! And now I'm going to make the impression of a rotten apprentice more stinky than mousebile? Mouse-dung!" He screamed in anger, his chest boiling with heated temper. Eaglepaw tried all his life to come out as a respectable warrior, and this flea case was going to blow it. He was throwing a tantrum, and he knew it, but the apprentice didn't have a care in the name of StarClan anymore. [/blockquote] OOC; sorry about the small post o.o
