"And hedgehogs will fly," Eaglepaw retorted under his breath. Seriously, what was up with worried cats and faking everything is alright? StarClan knows how mouse-brained clanmates can be. Pretending catches no prey.
A paw jabbed at his side and the tom winced. He glanced at his left where he found Pouncepaw poised one paw in the air. No hiss left her throat but there was a sharp glare glinting from her bright eyes. "Just because you woke up with thorns in your bedding doesn't mean you may spoil our spirits whenever you want!" she mewed in a harsh, hushed tone.
"Too bad, because my bedding was perfectly free of thorns, thank you very much," was Eaglepaw's irked reply.
Pouncepaw was clearly out of sorts. Her hairs stood at ends, bristling like needles, and her eyes were narrowed down to slits. Now she was hissing, "All the more reason for you to keep your mouth shut."
The tom let out a growl. He wasn't used to being stepped up like this. Suddenly, the itch in his chest that began just a flicker of annoyance bloomed into rage. "Then quit faking it!" the apprentice hissed back and broke free of the grip of Breezefur's tail around him. Muscles tensed and then unbuckled, Eaglepaw knocking over Pouncepaw as easily as a tree sprout. Oxygen was thrown out her lungs as she tumbled on her side down the sloped terrain of the WindClan camp. Two pairs of scars raked across her side. Eaglepaw stared, heaving in deep breaths, surprised himself at what he had done. His eyes darted down to his paws. When did I unsheathe my claws? A look of befuddled wonder and exasperation befalled his face.
Just a tail length away lay Pouncepaw, just as surprised as he was. Little blood was drawn, but even then there was pain. Her eyes widened in startlement. "Wh-what..." her voice trailed off, mind not knowing what to think. [/blockquote] OOC; the quality isn't good, I know, but I decided we need something more interesting than waiting away as time ticks by. ^^ Crane, please hurry up!!

I'd also like to note that loners and kittypets need to be RPed much more often. ThunderClan is also lacking in activity, though that's understandable since TC cats are preoccupied with war.
BUT, the battle makes no excuse for nonclan-cats to be lazy! In fact, it makes it all more the reason to get out and hunt some prey in those territories while the other cats are still busy fighting. And kittypets, who wouldn't be curious about those yowls in the distance?
Happy roleplaying, everyone! And like Silver said, keep it up!

OOC; it's all good, Pounce. :3 No need to worry. This is going to be a short post here... I realize I don't have too much time to type. Some cat knocked into the tom, and the deputy yowled in surprise. The claws hooked onto his side and pain was inevitably crying out from all parts of his body. He was pinned now, and with one swift bite he could be killed. The thought brought adrenaline rushing into his veins. I'm not giving up yet.
Stumbleknot vigorously rolled over. Muddy marsh soil clung tightly to his fur. He felt himself itching along his spine but the deputy forced himself to ignore the temptation. As he shifted to an upright position, Stumbleknot clung his claws into the enemy's shoulders and used his weight to crash down on her so that the ShadowClan she-cat would be the one begging StarClan's mercy on the ground. Now who's in trouble now? He can deal some fatal damage in a heartbeat.
But that was not like him. Cries and wails of other agonizing cats rang in his ears. A quick flick of his eyes to the side and he can see flashes of staggering apprentices, stricken she-cats, gored toms and many more warriors with moons of future whittling away in the hands of war. Stumbleknot stared down at the she-cat. He hasn't killed any cat yet and he wasn't planning to do it anytime soon now.
"Let's keep it only a small skirmish, please, " the deputy mewed not desperately, but still with pleading eyes, "There has been enough blood spilled already." In his mind the tom hoped the she-cat would see sense and not weakness in his words, and that the battle would end soon. Really soon. He couldn't take any more of the violence.
But the second wave has only come in. It was only the beginning...or was it?

The familiar, cozy scent of his mother wafted over Eaglepaw like a dream. The apprentice instinctively rubbed his neck against Breezefur's flank, warm memories of kithood rushing back in soft waves of nostalgia. But then the tom abruptly drew back, not in a cold gesture, but only in an embaressed withdrawal. He was an apprentice now. Acting like a kit was the last of things to prove his maturity. Especially in times like this when even Sharpstar was alarmed, he had to act grown up. The bittersweet memories hung heavily over his head.
A tail wrapped around his body protectively. "Where's your sister, Eaglepaw?" mewed Breezefur. Despite the she-cat's gentle voice, the tom's return to the present situation was a shock.
"Somewhere," Eaglepaw mumbled, still recovering from startlement. Another scent became distinct as Memoryleaf padded into the clearing, ears pressed back in his head as if he were very concerned. He looked away for a moment but then his mother suddenly gasped. He whipped his head around in surprise.
"Does this have to do with ThunderClan and RiverClan?" asked she, and her eyes toss a fearful message at a cat nearby, but Eaglepaw couldn't quite catch. That was strange. His mother had never looked that stressed before. Was she afraid of a battle? Somehow the apprentice knew it was something deeper than that.
The brown-furred tom felt Pouncepaw stir next to him. He hadn't realized how still she had been in those past heartbeats. She had always been so energetic, it was almost unbelievable to see her staring at Spicestar with such an intent gaze. "Memoryleaf," the she-cat mewed cheerily to the warrior, but even Eaglepaw could tell the smile was forced. Her tail patted a vacant space next to her and Eaglepaw directed his attention to Spicestar again.
Even Pouncepaw was nervous. How grave can this possibly be? [/blockquote]
