It was the night of the Gathering and the Clan was seething with excitement. Snowpelt felt no shortage of this excitement as well. She was thrilled to come and hear the news of the Clans, but more on her mind was to speak to her beloved brother... She had not gotten the chance to talk to him since the last Gathering... After which she knew he was to become leader after Echostar's words. She had no idea of his dissapearance or anything, and she completely expected to see him coming in from the ShadowClan's territory, proudly and boldly leading his Clan alongside the Deputy he chose. Her heart leapt and soared at the very thought of her beloved littermate leading his Clan. And her niece... Certainly she was to be a Warrior soon if she wasn't already, despite the dissapearance of them.
Her tail whipped back and forth as she bounded toward the hollow alongside the rest of her Clan. Her spot had been taken near Pantherpaw and she grinned broadly at the young cat. Snowpelt always held a soft spot for the younger cats, and it was no different with her. She absolutely loved all the younger ones, and the older ones of course, of her Clan. She grinned and nudged Pantherpaw in a playful manner with her shoulder before leaning close. "Excited?" She grinned broadly at her as she ran alongside her, glancing to Spicestar for his indication that they should continue down into the hollow. It was only ThunderClan around for the time being, but she knew the others would be along shortly, and the first thing she was to do was to find her brother in the crowd. She just knew he'd be here. He was the Leader for goodness sakes. She tried hard to keep her jittery excitement to herself, however. She couldn't seem unsettled to the little ones. She had always been a solid, calm part of their life, very stable and motherly to them all, whether they liked it or not, but as far as she could tell, they didn't mind at all.

Nightpaw never was all that much of a social cat... Of course nearly a year with twolegs with only her father for company might do that to one... But she did love all her Clanmates dearly in the short time she had spent with them thus far. Especially Marshflight, with whom most of her time had been spent as she learned the rest of her Apprentice training. She blinked warmly at him as she would soon rise from that submissive posture, watching him carefully and wandering what it was he needed. She respected this cat deeply, but she really didn't feel like idle chatter today... And yet... Idle chatter may be needed to take her mind off of today's happenings...
She smiled slightly at him as the silence lengthened, not at all minding it, nor finding it awkward in the least. She tilted her head slightly as she looked to him, watching him lower himself to make him at her own level. Well she would seat herself for the time being, allowing her own haunches to sink to the ground, ebon tail moving to wrap lightly around her overly large paws. Thankfully she had begun to grow into them, yet they were still overly large. Finally she heard him speak her name, and she would dip her head slightly, seeing the concern in his eyes. Well she would reach out to place a paw gently upon his... "He will be alright Marshflight... And he's coming back. I can feel it..." She glanced up at the sky and tensed up a little. In reality she couldn't... Her father had been far away and the bond she had built with him was stretched... And yet she couldn't stop believeing that he would come back.
But she would look back to him before nodding slightly. "But I understand... W-we need to be ready to move on if he... If the worst should happen." She nodded slightly and looked back up to him, her eyes full of sincerity. "If it happens... I will follow you Marshflight. Unreservedly I will follow and trust you." She nodded again and removed her paw, just when Emberwing made her way over.
She tensed up just a little as she padded over. Nightpaw didn't know Emberwing or her syblings all that well, and yet her words brought a slight smile to Nightpaw's maw. It was all she could do not to retort or send a sharp remark Emberwing's way. In all honesty, her mother was coming out in her lately and she really wanted Emberwing to mind her own business. And yet she would squish that thought quickly, not wanting to be mean to the young warrior. She dipped her head slightly in grateful respect. "Thank you Emberwing... That means a lot to me..." She nodded to her, and returned her gaze to Marshflight, knowing her actions and words may be a surprise to him. Nightpaw was often predictabley unpredictable. She could hold a sharp tongue like her mother and father, or she could be kind and gentle... More leaning toward the kind and gentle, but she had her moments... And at a time like this her moments came more often.
Then along came Warhawk as Emberwing spoke to Marshflight. Warhawk looked about ready to come unglued as she seethed and hissed at Emberwing. Indeed, her words seemed harsh to the Apprentice, but she merely dipped her head and remained absolutely silent, uncertain what to say about this at all. But she would smile slightly to Warhawk. If all went poorly, she would make a wonderful Deputy for Marshflight... Strong and orderly... Detail oriented, she would help this Clan to move smoothly. But this was a part of the worse case scenario... Of which Nightpaw prayed would not come... At least not for many many moons, though at that point it would turn into the best case indeed. But she smiled to Warhawk at her words. True enough they were merely logical, and yet they hit Nightpaw as something more. Warhawk thought there was a chance that Sharpstar might be coming back too, and this lifted Nightpaw's spirits considerably.

Snowpelt had been out for a small hunting trip herself when she heard some soft scuffling and meowing of young cats. She grinned slightly as she recognized them as a few of the WindClan apprentices. She would wander toward the tree, remaining silent and out of sight for the time being. Hanging from her jaws, she held a rabbit. She smiled warmly but wondered just what these apprentices were doing out here alone. Most of the time the Apprentices were supposed to be hunting and learning with their mentors, though spending some time with eachother was certainly good.
Snowpelt would watch them silently, not yet making her presence known. She noticed how Loudpaw kept glancing at Pantherpaw, who had finally come down from the tree, and she would smile slightly before moving fluidly out at the idea of hunting. She placed her rabbit gently down between her paws before speaking to the trio. "Good afternoon... Loudpaw, Bearpaw, Pantherpaw." She would nod gently to each of them in turn, offering a soft smile. "That was a wonderful catch Loudpaw." She would praise the young cat gently and smile to the others. "I hear a hunting trip is on the agenda for today, mind if I tag along?" Snowpelt was a younger Warrior, not so young, but younger... And yet she was respected by many in the Clan, being quite the motherly sort of cat to all. Yes, she asked for respect, but she also had a way of talking to cats that made them at ease with her, not treating even Apprentices as inferior to her.
She tilted her head a little as she would keep surveying the three young cats, that gentle nature never wavering. She didn't seem cross for them being out alone or talking or anything. Instead she wanted to take this moment for relationship building and a chance to assess their skills. She had no Apprentice of her own yet, so she often would check up on the other Apprentices around. She understood that food was scarce and time sacred, but so were the little ones... They didn't need barked at and shouted at for wasting time... They were little older than kits afterall. They should have high expectations, but not impossible ones. They shouldn't be able to slack off, but relaxing for a little bit was permissable by the young snowy she-cat.

Nigthtpaw sat absolutely still near the bottom of the stump, though far enough back that she didn't have to crane her neck to see Marshflight. Her gentle eyes were absolutely fixated on his form. She heard cats starting to gather in around her, causing her ears to flicker just a bit. Back in the Clan less than a moon and she was left alone here. She hardly knew the cats around here... Though she was starting to get to know them quickly. So many names she was very familiar with, so many faces of her beloved Clanmates.
Thoughts ran rampant through her mind as she awaited the rest of the Clan to gather at the stump to hear the words of Marshflight. Nightpaw was Marshflight's apprentice and thus of course she knew very well of the troubles and everything going on. She was well aware of the situation as Marshflight would share with her his troubles. Nightpaw found it odd, and yet she would listen very intently when he did... It would seem she had more of the natures of Sharpstar's sister, Snowpelt, than either of her parents... Yet she still could hold the sharp tongue of her mother... Not near as practiced or as scathing as she... And yet still sharp and witty. Nightpaw usually preffered to use her wit and skill in building cats up, rather than tearing them down... And yet with her feeling at her lowest low, that was difficult for the time.
Nightpaw wasn't given very much time to dwell on this, however, as Marshflight would soon begin to speak, addressing the Clan. Her gentle eyes fixated upon him, her thoughts wandering again over the last moon... There was no cat in this Clan, save her father, that she had grown as close to as Marshflight, her beloved mentor, confidant, and friend... And yet something else stirred inside her, a very odd feeling for the young she-cat. It confused her and the very thought of it made her wrinkle her nose in confusion.
Once again she would push her overly loud thoughts to the back of her warring mind, gazing up at Marshflight and listening intently to his words. As he spoke of her father, she would visibly tense up, though show amazing restraint, remaining absolutely silent and respectful to her Deputy... She couldn't bring herself to call him her Leader... Indeed her father had told her that he was going to ask and appoint Marshflight as his Deputy... And yet he hadn't done it. Of course not, he dissapeared shortly after going to Moonstone. He had insisted on going alone... She growled slightly for not insisting back on going with him... He had said that he felt he needed to go this alone, so she let him... Marshflight too had honored that request... And now he was lost to them...
Yet as Marshflight voiced her fears, an inward growl started. He was not lost... He would come back. What was Marshflight doing... He was just going to move on like nothing was happening? She trusted Marshflight, and yet in the pit of her stomach she felt this was wrong... This was not how it was supposed to happen. Her father would come back... Her father would come back and lead the Clan... He had to! It was his duty... Nightpaw would continue to watch Marshflight unwaveringly as she listened, her thoughts being dragged back as he spoke of his trip to Moonstone after the Gathering. The Gathering... They had to move on before then... She sighed slightly, she just couldn't face the reality that her father might actually be truly gone...
But as her name was called, she looked up, sitting taller and dipping her head in a respectful nod and acceptance of Marshflight's will. There was no surprise there that Marshflight wished his Apprentice to accompany him... And yet there was no kittish excitement bubbling in Nightpaw, merely an understanding and acceptance of her responsibility... What a cat beyond her years, and yet the desire to prove her worth to Marshflight still burned strong... And that other bothersome thought would also resurface, causing Nightpaw to mentally recoil and push it down, padding slightly at the ground a couple times as if she could paw it right into the dirt she sat upon.
Marshflight's last words of the meeting made hope swell in Nightpaw's heart. Even if her father was gone... His Clan would live on and thrive under the one he chose... As soon as Marshflight dismissed the Clan, Nightpaw would move to her feet and start away. All she wanted at the moment was to be alone... And yet it didn't seem she would get that yet, as out of the corner of her eye, she saw Marshflight making his way toward her. She paused mid-step, glancing back to him, standing a near regal posture, before lowering her head and tail slightly in submission to his position as her Mentor and Deputy... But she would look up to meet his eyes quietly, her voice gentle, though he would likely hear strain in it. "Hello Marshflight..."

The young she-cat had been so angsty the past few days... She was worried when her father didn't come home from Moonstone within the time he was expected... It had now been a few days since her father had left to receive his nine lives and name... And yet it shouldn't have taken this long for her father to get back. She would find herself pacing the Apprentice's den, much to the annoyance of her denmates, considering her pawsteps weren't the quietest. But she didn't seem to care these last few days.
Even today, Nightpaw was unnerved and uneasy, pacing her den and then moving out to move around camp. It had been suggested that she use this angsty energy to go hunt, but she simply couldn't concentrate on a task... But she had worked hard since her father and herself had gotten home... And she was ready to be promoted... She felt ready and she had been told that she was ready to have her Warrior ceremony... And yet with all the confusion during this time... It was complicated... She understood this... Heck she hadn't been with the Clan a whole moon since she had been taken by humans with her beloved father...
Lately Nightpaw had been strange... Those who knew her as a tiny kit knew that she was the sweetest, most gentle cat in the world despite her harsher parents... True enough her father had been a gentle one, and yet he still came off as harsh... She tensed up as she thought again of her father, shaking such thoughts from her mind. Her father was fine. And he was coming home... And yet Marshflight... He seemed eager to take the leadership... This rubbed Nightpaw the wrong way... She held a healthy respect for Marshflight as her mentor and friend... And yet she still felt he was rushing this... Yet with the gathering not far away, how could he not? She huffed and sighed softly and finally shook her pelt out and headed for the entrance of the camp. She had to get out and do something...
Yet when she heard the familiar summoning words for the Clan, coming from the maw of her beloved mentor, she paused and turned slightly to give her shoulder a lick, mildly irritated. She would turn, however, and pad right back into the camp, glancing around as she bounded for the stump, finding herself being the first cat at the meeting. She smiled warmly and dipped her head respectfully to Marshflight, her tail whipping slightly and then curling around her frame.
Nightpaw had been growing considerably fast... She was now the size of a Warrior, but only just the age of a young Warrior ready to start their Warrior duties, and yet she was larger than all those that would be her age. She was turning out to be a beautiful she-cat, growing into those abnormally large paws... Lately Nightpaw felt bad, because of her snappish nature during the recent events of her father's dissapearance, and yet no one seemed to blame the young she-cat... Though as soon as the uncertain times ended, Nightpaw would likely be right back to her normal self.
The young dark she-cat would remain seated and silent, attention wavering slightly as she watched the cats coming out of their nests and coming into camp. This was her beloved family... Her wonderful Clan, and yet her heart felt empty without her father here with her... But one way or another all would be well. Her father had been right. ShadowClan was strong... They would survive and get through this, and if her father didn't come back... Which wasn't an option in her mind... She would stand by Marshflight and help him through this as well as she could.

Sharpfang looked to Marshflight as he would allow him to lead him off. He would dip his head lightly and graciously to the little knot of cats, his daughter included, as he led Marshflight off. He looked around at the cats, trying to guage reactions from down here. He was hoping they would take well to him, honestly. He was a strong cat, very centered in the Warrior's Code... And he had a healthy bit of humbleness. He didn't feel fit to lead these cats any more than Echostar was and yet he was going to do his darnest to do so. His tail snapped a bit, showing his slightly anxiousness, but he would calm it quickly as Marshflight followed him, certainly not wanting to show any weakness.
He finally turned to Marshflight. "You're young... But I have a heavy task to ask of you Marshflight... I had this sprung on me, I didn't want to spring it on you. I have to name a Deputy the night after I get back from Moonstone and I feel that you are a good choice... I also want to ask you to finish the training of my little one... Nightpaw." He nodded slightly and would allow him to take it in, and to wait for an answer from him, his tail swaying slightly, hoping he wouldn't deny either one. Sure, he had only known Marshflight as a kit if he knew him at all before he was taken, but from what he had seen the last few days, Marshflight would make a good one. It was a gamble, but if it was simply inexperiance, well... They would learn together. But he would watch Marshflight quietly to take in his reactions to all this.
Nightkit perked her ears up as she listened intently to her father. Her eyes glowed with pride. She had spent the last while with only him and she had never seen him give in or give up his hope, and here they were back home. Her father could certainly lead this Clan. She hoped everyone would see this as well... But she was sure they would... Her father would be one powerful Leader. Fair, but wonderful.
She looked up as her father came over and led Marshflight off. She nodded respectfully to him and smiled lightly, before looking to Skyfire as he came over. Her tail flicked a bit and she smiled respectfully to him, and she tilted her head a little as she heard his words and grinned widely. "Oh sir I don't really have a mentor but my dad yet..." She nodded slightly. "But I can't wait to do the chores Apprentices did!" She would grin and nod eagerly. Goodness it wasn't likely a normality to see an apprentice so eager to do chores, but of course after being locked away in a cage for so long it wasn't too surprising for the young cat. But she smiled widely up at him, tilting her head a bit.*

(No problem And I wasn't sure if you still wanted them together or not, I'm good either way. And they weren't quite together together, but it was getting there certainly. What do you think?) Snowpelt moved to nudge Memoryleaf's shoulder gently as she heard him speak. She watched in surprise and glanced away for a moment before looking back to him, her gaze even and careful. "The meeting is over... But I don't think you should be going after a traitor or a Rogue by yourself. Perhaps we should tell Spicestar? But he's so busy with finishing the meeting..." She trembled slightly. (I haven't remade her yet, but maybe I should... I loved playing her.

Haha dang I'm sorry I've been inactive as well guys! I'm working on it really! And honestly whatever you guys want to do! Lol Nightpaw doesn't need a whole lot of training, though having two apprentices at a time, especially for a young cat probably wouldn't be a good thing.

Snowpelt had been out hunting, far out in the moors and she hadn't heard the summons. But she would come back with three rabbits in her jaws. She darted back into the camp to see that all the cats were gathered. She winced and droppd her catch on the pile and moved to take a seat at the back. She winced as she was seeing the tail end of the Apprentice ceremony. She sighed slightly. She would not get an Apprentice... She sighed slightly and shook her head a bit feeling terrible. Snowpelt had had one apprentice in her time, and yet somehow he had been lost... The poor blind cat, he didn't have a heck of a lot of hope, and yet he had seemed to be doing so wonderfully...
She sighed slightly and would seat herself near the back, and yet she would call out the new names of the kits... No the apprentices. Her tail swayed slightly as she watched the end of the meeting, her eyes glittering. She looked over to Ghostwalker seeing him looking shocked. Could he be who was chosen as Deputy to Spicestar? That must be it... She sighed slightly and would glance off, finding herself in her own little world. That was when Memoryleaf ran into camp announcing something about a traitor. For the time being she looked to Spicestar and Ghostwalker, uncertain how they would respond to this.
OOC: Firewrath I thought Memoryleaf was a tom... Lol when Flower played Memoryleaf, him and Snowpelt were going to be together... Lol but ok...

Sharpfang gazed out at the gathered cats. Goodness uncertainty gripped him in it's tight embrace. He heard the whisperings and murmerings around camp already asking why he was up there instead of Echostar. He would wait a few more moments for the rest of his beloved Clan to gather. Once he had at least most of them there he would start, but not until. But then again he couldn't just let everyone else just sit around in the cold without any explanation.
So soon enough he would lift his voice again, willing his form and voice not to shake as he would address his Clan. "My dear friends... I know you're all eager to go to your warm nests, but I hope you would hear me out... Those of you who were at the Meeting know just as much as I... But I need to share with the rest formally. Echostar announced today at the meeting that she was stepping down. In such an action, she has left me in charge..." He paused to let this fact sink in and he glanced around quietly to take in the different reactions to such a thing.
He would soon speak up again. "And as those of you who were there heard, there have been many changes in leadership in the forest. I fear dark times are coming but we are ShadowClan and we will stand strong." His voice lifted and boomed out over the camp, echoing with pride and strength and certainty. "I will be going to speak with StarClan tomorrow night. And upon my return I shall name my Deputy. ShadowClan shall live on and make it through these trials. I need each one of you to be vigilant and ready at all times. I don't know what the other Clans are thinking of in times such as this, but we must be ready to defend our Clan and our home."
He looked down to the gathered cats and his gaze fell upon Leiko. Sharpfang needed to start his leadership off right, and yet tonight was not the night to do so. He was not technically the Leader yet, StarClan had not given him his name, nor his nine lives. He wanted to be truly their leader before he started taking the liberty of doing the things a Leader would do. But he would nod slowly as he lowered his head slightly. "I don't know what happened with Echostar... I came back to try and speak to her, and yet I cannot find her anywhere. I ask that in your patrolls you remain alert, and try to find her presence. She should not go through this life alone without her Clan." He nodded again and would wrap his tail gently over his paws. "Thank you for listening my friends. And I will say it again. StarClan shall never fail us. They will bring us through this and ShadowClan will remain strong against whatever threat comes our way. As long as we band together, we will make it through."
Once he was done with his words, he would flick his tail in dismissal of his Clan, and he would jump down from the stump, gazing around at all the cats gathered. He was making a point here. Even if he was to take on the Clan, he was no better than any of them. He was simply the one chosen to lead them. StarClan help them... And him if they have time. He wandered over to where Marshflight sat beside Leiko, and nodded to both cats. "Marshflight... A word?" He said requested from the other cat before lifting and moving off a few paces from the others.
Nightpaw perked her ears up as she watched her father intently. That was until Pollenwind came over. She perked her ears up as she suddenly realized that she had said something. She had been rather focused upon her father. She dipped her head and laid back her ears a bit appologetically. "Sorry... Hi..." She winced a little as she wasn't sure of Pollenwind's name. Sure enough the young cat had been taken before she got to know much outside the Nursery. But she smiled lightly to her, letting her tail sway a bit.
Once the meeting ended with her father encouraging the Clan. She smiled widely to her father, but then looked back to Pollenwind, not wanting to make her thing she was ignoring her, as she wasn't. Nightpaw simply got rather focused.

Sharpfang furrowed his brow looking quite uncertain as he came out of Echostar's... No... His den. This was still quite confusing to him. His den... He was Leader now after merely a day or so of being Deputy... He had gone in to try to make Echostar see sense, and yet Echostar simply wasn't there... What had happened to her? She couldn't be gone... So was so young, so vital to the Clan... Yet sure enough, she was gone... He looked around as he paused at the base of the stump for a moment, running a large paw over the base of it briefly. He had to think, to get his thoughts in order...
Sharpfang was a wreck... He had just gotten back from being trapped by humans for goodness sake.... How could he run a Clan? But... He had always been strong and strong willed... He knew he could do it. Why else did he wish so bad that Echostar would chose him as her Deputy... Yet when she did, he had no idea she was planning this... Well, true enough, Sharpfang had run at Echostar's side even before she chose him for Deputy... Before he was taken... So he somewhat had an idea of what a Leader had to do, and yet much of it he would have to learn himself...
He would finally hop up upon the stump and yowl out the well known words. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather at the Stump for a Clan meeting." He wanted to tack on please at the end of it, but stopped himself. Goodness... That had to be like his sister... He smiled slightly as he thought of her. He had seen her at the Gathering... She had gotten to see him be promoted to Leader so fast along with all the others... He remembered the pride shining behind the uncertainty in her eyes, and it made him swell with pride as well.
So now he would wait for a moment as his Clan would gather with him to hear what he had to say. This fact sent a chill through him, though a pride and delight as well, but also a chill of fear... What if he ever said the wrong thing? He had to lead this Clan now... His clan. They depended on him to lead them. So, he would swallow his uncertainties and lift his head, playing the part of a confidant Leader, if only to soothe the fears and uncertainties of his Clan mates. He had to be strong for them now when no one else was.
Nightpaw made her way out of the Apprentice Den as soon as she heard her father's summons. She had not been able to sleep, even though as a newly appointed apprentice, she could not join the Gathering yet... She would come right out, looking quite confused. What was her father doing? And where was Echostar? Certainly she had not yet heard the news... But she would obediantly dart out to take a spot near the base of the stump, fixing her father with those blue eyes, eager to hear what he had to say.

Sharpfang smiled warmly down at his son and nuzzled him gently. "Don't worry... I'm sure she'll give you your mentor soon..." He glanced around. There were less cats than he remembered... But he would lean down to nuzzle his son gently before looking to Nightkit, who was listening intently to Echostar. Sharpfang smiled and returned his attention to Echostar as well. Soon he heard words that neither him nor Nightkit were expecting. He was to be Deputy? No way... He hardly believed what she was saying, and yet the age old words were spoken, he was her choice...
He blinked in surprise, but then grinned broadly. He was her choice! He stood and dipped his head respectfully to her. "I thank you for this enormous honor Echostar and shall do my best to serve the Clan, you, and our Warrior ancestors." He nodded and sat down to listen to the rest of the meeting. He grinned a little bit as she went on to speak Nightkit's ceremony.
Nightkit stood eagerly when her name was called and she would bound up when she heard that it was the ceremony to give her her apprentice name. She would touch noses eagerly with Echostar, looking proudly over the assembled cats, hearing them call her name. She felt her chest puff out with pride, and yet uncertainty pricked at her. Echostar had not named a mentor for her... Was her father to be her mentor? She didn't mind if he was... He had taught her all she knew thus far afterall... Well in any case, she would dart back down to touch noses with her father. She would then dart over to pounce her brother giggling a bit.
Sharpfang grinned proudly up at his daughter as she touched noses with Echostar and then darted down to touch noses with him. He nodded gently to her and smiled warmly as he called out her new name the loudest. Soon it all died down and congratulations were being given all around. Sharpfang smiled warmly as their Medicine cat approached. He dipped his head respectfully to him and meowed softly. "I thank you Skyfire... I only hope I can be of service to my Clan better now..." He nodded gently. He greatly respected Skyfire, so his words meant more to him than many others.

Sharpfang led their Clan home that night... Head held high, mind reeling with thoughts of confusion and uncertainty. The huge cat had to try hard to keep his fear scent to a bear minimum. He had to be strong for his Clan when his true Leader had not... Well as soon as they were home and Sharpfang had done all he could to soothe his Clan, he would move off to the den of his beloved Leader... He stepped inside, meowing out softly to her. "Echostar... Echostar are you in here?" He hadn't seen her when he called the Clan meeting upon arrival home.
He glanced around in the gloomy darkness hoping to find her somewhere inside. She had run home before the Gathering had ended. It hadn't looked good for ShadowClan... At all... But he jumped up to the challenge and hoped he had put on a strong enough front. He wanted to keep the other Clans, especially RiverClan, from thinking that ShadowClan was in the least weakened by this.
He glanced around again and finally stepped fully inside, hoping she was within and wouldn't mind granting him an audience. He simply had to make her see reason... Her stepping down... It made no sense. She had been chosen by StarClan to walk this path and StarClan was never wrong...

Sharpfang listened to the meeting, pride swelling his already large chest. This was supposed to be a wonderful meeting where he was announced deputy, himself and his little one having returned to the Clan. He listened patiently to the news of the other clans before his own, and yet when he heard Bluestar's words, his ears pricked forward with worry for the she-cat. And yet she soon announced that she would be retiring. And leaving Spicefur in charge. Indeed he didn't know Spicefur well... He glanced around for a moment, allowing his attention to waver as he sought out his sister... She had to be here... She just had to. But WindClan had come in late... Where was she...
Snowpelt had, indeed, come in with the other WindClan cats... She weaved expertly around but settled with a few of her own Clanmates... She glanced around, but soon caught the sight of the hulking form of her beloved brother. She smiled warmly. So it was true... She sighed softly and nodded. He was safe and home... Shock was soon written all over her face as she looked back and heard her beloved leader take her turn to speak. She was retiring? She shivered a bit, not sure if this had ever happened... Never that she knew of... But for now she remained quiet... Goodness the cat should have been a Medicine cat with how calm and tranquil she often was... But she took this information in and trembled a bit, uncertain of the future of her Clan. Either way she would fight well to protect it. Well she would then listen as Echostar would take a turn to speak, nodding gently. She had been shocked at Bluestar's words, but said nothing. And yet soon she heard Echostar echo much the same of what Bluestar had said. Echostar was retiring too... But that meant... Sharpfang was... Leader? She grinned broadly. Her brother... Leader of ShadowClan... She sighed gently and nodded approvingly as she finally met his gaze. But to her utter confusion, it held terror...
Sharpfang had been expecting the honor of being announced Deputy at this meeting and yet... No. It was more than that... Echostar was retiring! So soon? So soon after he had gotten back and now she was throwing this responsibility on him? It didn't add up! But the look of terror he tossed his sister was quickly squished. He needed to be strong for his Clan. He rose his head and nodded in understanding to Echostar. Though he would have preffered to have heard it from her before this... But he would take his responsibility in full stride.
Sharpfang watched as Riverfleet now stepped forward to speak, but the tom Cranefeather leapt up beside her. Alright so he was large, but Sharpfang was easily as big, perhaps even bigger. Sharpfang watched as his leader darted out of the clearing and he cringed. ShadowClan could not appear weak. Well... Without hessitating, Sharpfang leapt upon the rock that ShadowClan might have a presence there. He stared at Cranefeather, unblinkingly, unwaveringly... He narrowed his eyes as he watched and listened to the pair. He couldn't quite make out all the words, but he listened to Riverfleet's announcement. Yet it was not long before the treacherous cloud drifted over the moon.
Sharpfang's ears leapt back to pin firmly over his head, his whole body a bristling mass of fur and muscle. He hissed slightly, but said nothing... Sharpfang had never been one of many words... And yet, he would leap off the rock before yowling. "ShadowClan with me!" And then he would take off toward his territory. He wouldn't go but a few pawsteps before glancing back to be sure he had gathered his beloved Clan behind him. Once he had, he would take them home. Goodness he hoped he could talk Echostar out of retiring...
Snowpelt watched and trembled. She didn't want her beloved brother to have to bear all this alone, but how could she help him... She shook her head a little, not understanding as Riverfleet spoke. Surely WindClan had not stepped paw over their border... WindClan had always been honorable... If not a little skittish... But in any case, soon enough the clouds hid the moon, and sent the whole clearing into an uproar. She sought her brother, but then realized running with him would not be a good idea. Instead, she turned and looked to her leader... Spicefur. She trusted this cat as much as she trusted Bluestar... Now she would follow him as he led their beloved Clan from the now truce broken clearing.

Sharpfang moved with pride alongside his Leader. His thoughts were all in a whirl, not long before the Gathering, there had been a Clan meeting and he was announced the Deputy. He was! He could hardly believe such a thing to be possible, and yet there he was, moving fluidly and confidantly beside his Leader. He rose his head high as they neared the meeting place, his tail snapping with eager anticipation. He couldn't believe it...
It had made him nervous to leave Nightkit, back at camp, and yet he knew she was safe. They were home at last... He sighed slightly at the thought, but would soon jerk his thoughts back to the present as he stayed glued to Echostar's side. He remembered a Gathering long before this one where something similar happened. He was so determined to impress Echostar then, so he stayed by her at all times, hoping she would pick him as Deputy... And after so much had happened, she finally had! Pride bursted in his chest as he moved beside her, careful not to let his huge paws trip him up, knowing he wanted to make the best impression possible.
Oh and to tell his sister! He was sure she would be here... As far as he knew, she thought he was dead... He had been gone so long and now found his way back... He shivered with delight and would imediately scan the area below looking for his beloved sister. They would have to find a time where they could go off and talk. As far as he knew, the kinship between them was yet unknown to any of the Clans. This bugged him, and the secret was one he didn't wish to keep from Echostar especially... But it wasn't one he felt he could share. He couldn't have his loyalties questioned. He was a loyal ShadowClan cat and would be for the rest of his days.
Finally they reached the Four Oaks, and he scanned the clearing for his sister, but moved after his Leader. He didn't see her anywhere yet, or any of the WindClan cats... Where was WindClan? He sighed slightly and moved to seat himself near Echostar, still scanning the area ever watchfully.
(Has Bluestar led the WindClan cats in?)
